Rio Danta

We paid for a private room with a shared bathroom, and we got a small room with a window facing the parking lot and smoke area that doesnt close. We could hear people until about midnight, and then noises throughout the night. The showers were dirty and there was no hot water. The kitchen was pretty mediocre as well. Our friend paid half of what we did for a bunk room and was given a private room with a private bathroom, shower, and ac.

El lugar no tiene parqueo suficiente y motiva a sus clientes a dejar el vehículo afuera cuando sabes que en Costa Rica el robo de carros va en aumento.

Staff - incredibly rude and unhelpful. One man in particular. We had our food chucked in the bin after it was labelled and he told me “life goes on”, as well as not helping us when they removed our things off our bed and moved us without warning. Also this place is hella dirty. Not worth the stay - rooms are also super uncomfortable

Overall clean hostel, nothing more to be honest. Not the greatest location (10 mins to City Centre) and the rooms and Common area were pretty old, used and dark.

Alles sauber aber: - nur wenige Parkplätze - keine Klimaanlage - kleines Zeitfenster für Check-In Die Betten hatten alle ihren eigenen kleinen Ventilator, das war super. Aufgrund der hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit fühlte man sich aber eher dennoch wie in einer Sauna mit Umluft. Insgesamt für einen kurzen Aufenthalt ausreichend

The hostel wasn’t very sociable. Decent location. The bathroom in my dorm was filthy when I arrived and they didn’t clean it for 2 days until I asked them to.

Great location, loved the curtains for the bunk beds. The gym was great, also a secret cozy seating area above the gym. Hostel had a funny smell and it had an awkward layout. Other than that good for the price.

It s outside the city. Kinda dirty and messi. The cat are walking in the kitchen and on the kitchen around. Some toilet doors can’t be locked.

Es ist ganz ok, die Leute sind freundlich und es ist schön gemacht, aber es ist nicht so sauber & die Betten sind unbequem und laut

Stayed in the 4 bed family room and can’t recommend, was very dirty (garbage on the floor). Whole place doesn’t look like the pictures at all! I hope the dorms are better but idk. Kitchen is ok and workout area/common areas are quite nice but also pretty dirty. There was a big group of construction workers staying who were extremely loud and disrespectful, they hit on me several times, watched me while working out etc. Very sketchy place! But that’s what you get for the cheap price I guess...

Staff were friendly & the turnaround time for laundry was great. 4 hours - it smelt amazing & it was dry; something I’ve struggled with in hot/humid places, usually come back feeling damp. There were lockers but there was no key for the dorm room which was left open & accessible to all. There were also gates to the hostel & car park area if you have a car but they can just be pushed open. The kitchen was a bit run down & I wouldn’t want to cook in there. El Hostal Río Danta es, sin duda, uno de los lugares más bonitos que he conocido en La Fortuna. Desde el momento en que llegué me sentí muy a gusto. El lugar es muy acogedor, está sumamente limpio, ordenado y bien cuidado en cada detalle.Además, cuenta con muchas comodidades que hacen la estadía aún mejor, como gimnasio, aire acondicionado y espacios muy agradables para descansar. Todo está muy completo y pensado para que los huéspedes se sientan cómodos, y el personal es muy coodiale...

Good and affordable hostel overall! I stayed in two different room and I’d stay stay away from the 4 bed (on Hostelworld it says it’s 6 but just look at the photos). The other room was really nice! The kitchen is well equipped and the workers are lovely. The bathrooms do smell like pickled vegetables tho

Très bon établissement, une cuisine super bien équipée, les lits étaient très confortables… mais la salle de bain n’était pas toujours très propre.

a really cosy place. Had some issues with overbooking but that's common in the area due to old systems. Other than that, had a nice time. Just a short walk from the centre.

The hostel is amazing, they have a full equiped kitchen, gym, hot water and the staff is super nice. I hope to be back one day.

Todo muy ordenado y limpio. Buenas instalaciones y buena atención y en consecuencia ambiente sumamente empatico

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The gym is basic but exists. The kitchen is very well equipped. There’s a small river that is great to relax while listening to. Rooms have A/C and fans. Little further from town but it’s so peaceful and the walk is barely noticeable. Two or three songs and you’ve walked into town.

Great to have a gym in a hostel especially for this price. It’s small but everything you need! Well equipped kitchen. Beds were very private and the rooms spacious. Friendly and helpful staff too. Only downside is it’s quite far out of town.

This is such a great hostel. The common spaces are so comfy and social, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were all amazing!!
