Mercy Hostel

their pool was broken, which they did not tell me until after check in. they were fixing the pool which caused a lot of noise. The aircon broke in the middle of the night: suddenly it started to make a very loud noise, like an old motorcycle going uphill, and it stopped working. The breakfast was diy, they said it started at 6 but the last things were not laid out until 6:20. The bed was comfortable, and there were many places to sit.

It's been quite unpleasant as I discovered used contact lenses and a lot of hair next to my bed. Additionally, I found something resembling small parasites on the shower room floor. The location is a bit far if you're walking from bus station 1, taking some time. The only positive aspect is that the staff is really friendly and the security of the hotel. And also they have a small meal (coffee and toast) provided all day.

I got ELECTRIC SHOCKED here by the toaster and told staff and they said “wear shoes, this happens here” so that was concerning! no events and not very social but a good place to stay the night before taking the slow boat to Laos. staff were really helpful in answering all my questions and were around at every hour!

Shaun was friendly and helpful, came with me to the Sunday night market whilst on his break and answered all my random questions about Thailand / food / locals etc. 711 5 minute walk away. Rooms are clean. Breakfast could be improved - recommend adding scrambled egg, pancakes etc.

Stayed here for 2 nights was good but would not have stayed longer. The beds were spacious but the bathrooms stink a bit. Location is okay and free breakfast was nice but not a social hostel

Mercy hostel is not well located. It’s the only place where I didn’t felt safe walking alone. The street right in front of it is full of prostitution, the smell is terrible and weird people. 7/11 is far, there’s nothing to do around really. The bathroom could’ve been cleaner, so much noise at night, barely could sleep (frustrating when you have to take the slow boat at 5am). The blinds are not long enough, everyone can see you sleeping. Breakfast is really average.

Not much atmosphere but I think most people only stay a night or two before heading to Laos pn the slow boat. Was a bit of a shock after coming from Chiang Mai and Pai!

Good place to stay for a few days but the mosquitos here were the worst I’ve had in a hostel. Not much to be done about it. Staff was very helpful and handled an incident in the dorms very well.

Hostel is fine, kinda social, but at the same time really far away from something like a bit more party hostel. Just a shame somebody moved my bag to fix a airconditioner which was totally fine of-course, but i had everything laid out in a way i dont forget anything. He but it really sloppy back and now I lost multiple things all of a sudden :(

Wasn’t the best one but I think it’s enough for few days.

Very nice hostel. Comfy beds. Good aircon and bathrooms. Just no social atmosphere at all. The pool is also not even a meter deep. If you’re looking for a social atmosphere stay somewhere else however if you want to a good and comfortable rest definitely stay here!

Hostel was good for 2 nights. Staff friendly and everything clean. No socialising at hostel but quite in Chiang Rai

Fine! Staff is extremely kind and helping. Hostel is clean, nice, nothing excessive. Not very social, but i guess you can look for it of you want it. I had a private room which was spacious and clean.

Great place, good beds and facilities. Not a party hostel which is exactly what I look for myself, can still be social and meet people. Definitely recommend for long terms stays. Good free breakfast with snacks, tea and coffee available all day for free as well

Hostel muy bien ubicado, con buenos trabajadores y buena limpieza en la habitación, le faltaría mejorar la limpieza en la piscina o el intento de piscina, estaba lleno de hojas y restos

What an amazing hostel. The staff really make this someplace special. After having an accident and being admitted to the hospital, they brought me some things from my bag and even stopped to get me some fruit and snacks on the way. Shaun and Joy are the superstars here! Highly recommended hostel!

Super établissement. Bien situé et très spacieux. Logement assez calme mais possibilité d'avoir une sacrée ambiance avec les activités mises à disposition. Pour ma part, je ne recherchais pas cela et ça m'a parfaitement convenue.

I rarely write reviews, this hostel was one of my favourite hostels because of one person. Shaun, he incredibly welcoming staff member. Such a light in that hostel and made me feel at home. A home away from home, personally I’d like to thank you Shaun for everything! The dorms were perfect—comfy beds, quiet, and respectful guests. Great location, 5 mins from the bus station and 7/11 (not on Google Maps). Free snacks and coffee are a bonus. Already thinking of coming back!

Had a great time at this hostel, rooms were nice and clean bed was really comfortable. Easy check in and check out thanks to TAW he was very helpful!

Good hostel for location and being central to bars/restaurants. If you’re booking for a pool however this is not the one as is very unclean and we’re unable to swim in it. But just to pass through a good stay, and they organised the slow boat for us to Laos.

Fijn hostel om even bij te komen, niet heel sociaal alleen!

Amazing hostel, I really loved my stay there. The owner is such a kind person, he gives you a lot of recommendations what you could do and also gave me recommendations for my next stay. I definitely recommend staying there and would come back :)

I really had a amazing time at Mercy Hostel. It was my first hostel experience ever and i had so much fun and met many new nice people. special shoutout to Shaun for making me feel so welcome❤️
