Mangifera Hostel

This was the only place that had no Pura Vida. We were not given any kind of welcome, no towels, only park 2 cars for free after 930pm, locker/cabinets werw junk, no secure top railing on bunks, table fan hung wall and the mini fridge/freezer had no space for the amount of guests they could house. Their restaurant was mainly filled with hostel guests instead of locals on a Friday night. If you are American, stay at Hotel Aeromundo up the road, which is 100% Pura Vida.

Really disappointed with this hostel. It was clean, had a nice garden and 2 really cute cats but... No tours were happening even though they advertised them. They don't let you use the kitchen (we knew this) but to fill up our water bottles we had to always ask. The staff seem disinterested, don't talk to you and are quite direct. If you don't have a car it's difficult to visit the volcano poas or the waterfalls so we were quite bored as not many people were there.

I feel the Hostel should be advertised more as a hotel then a hostel. Very very small limited parking off an extremely busy road. Restaurant is closed Monday Tuesday but that is not mentioned on the site. Should be. Downtown on a main street is extremely noisy all night. Some staff not very helpful. One fellow was extremely helpful in helping us get our vehicle parked. I didn’t get his name, but he made the Hostel memorable. One bed was comfortable, the other a bit lumpy. Location ok if no c...

Quite a bit further from the airport than we thought. Overall the hostel was fine, nice restaurant, sweet cats. Room however was at the roadside of the hostel and it was extremely loud outside. Also didn't help that the staff decided to start remodeling a bathroom in the building quite early in the morning without Prior notice.

Le Hostel est bien situé et le personnel est avenant! Les chambres sont grandes et il y a une cours arrière. Ceci dit, apportez vous des bouchons car la rue est très bruillante, même pour les chambres derrières. La cuisine aurait besoin d' un nettoyage de fond. C' était quand même bien pour un passage.

The location of this hostel is perfectly situated in front of this very original church of the cute town of Grecia. We were in a 4 bed dorm so that’s cool and confortable. There’s no kitchen, so you can’t cook here. The hostel feels more like a hotel. The main business here is the bar/restaurant, which is crowded on the weekend with concerts and shows. Can be noisy at night. Overall good stay, but only for one or two nights.

Sehr schönes Hostel direkt am Hauptplatz von Grecia. Die Zimmer sind top und alles sauber. Leider gibt es keine Küche, dafür kann man gut im Restaurant essen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder.

Great location in downtown, comfy beds and nice showers.

Wir (mein Partner und ich) hatten eine tolle Zeit in dem Hostel. Die Menschen, die das Hostel leiten sind unglaublich nett und alles war sehr gemütlich und schön eingerichtet. Unsere Highlights waren die top Lage direkt am Park und die Terrasse mit der Hängematte von der man auf die Kirche und den Park schauen konnte. Auch der Garten im Hinterhof war sehr gemütlich. Alles war sehr unkompliziert und entspannt. Definitiv weiterzuempfehlen!

The interior garden was so nice ! We loved the cats ! Great spot to walk the city. We felt safe

Everything was straightforward and clean and it was a good place to stay after getting into the airport, 45 min drive to this hostel, and then on to La Fortuna the next morning.

Absolut perfektes Hostel. Es gibt zwar keine Küche, hat dafür aber ein exzellentes Restaurant für Mittag und Abendessen (Mittwoch geschlossen) Mitarbeiter nur mit 4 bewertet, da am Mittwoch überhaupt nicht und ansonsten nur während den Öffnungszeiten des Restaurant anwesend Atmosphäre nur mit 3 bewertet, da keine anderen Gäste anwesend Ansonsten im Hostel übernachten: gerne wieder

Really kind and friendly staff, the rooms were clean and the hostel was in a great location, we would definitely come back :))

It is a hostel with shared space with a bar. That makes it even better, as the shared space is very pretty and unlike the customers in the bar, the hostel dwellers can get their own drinks and use the bar glasses with no restrictions. The bunk beds were cozy and the overall stay was comfortable.

It is a awsome place to do hikes and other stuff around Alujuela. It is near the busstation so you can reach any town nearby. In the evening maybe a little loud because of the mainstreet, but it is fine after 10pm. The restaurant is excellent and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Visit in every case the botenical garden 30 min with the bus from Grecia in Serchi.
