Live Free Hostel

The hostel has a good common area and location. But the dorms are less ventilated with small fans and low mobile network. Even the wifi signal is very low in the dorms. Lockers are there but you have to use your own lock. Most importantly they charged me more than what was shown in my booking though website

The hostel is decent. Food, location, cleanliness etc are decent. However, the hostel misses some ambiance, especially for solo backpackers. The shared accommodation only has tables for 2-4 people, which stimulates everyone to sit by themselves.

Just OK. The only two things I liked was the mattress which was very soft and comfortable, and the help of the staff which we are amazing. Nevertheless, the bathrooms were filthy. Their rooms were full of bucks and mosquitoes

Very near Assi ghat which was great. The cafe was great and so tasty and convenient particularly for breakfast. The beds were very comfortable. The first night I felt slightly unsafe as there was no lock on our door and we were right by the main gate on the ground floor. There wasn’t any security to ease this. But it was very community driven, and the bathrooms were great.

A nice hostel, the location is great, near Assi ghat. Staff is friendly and helpful. The female dorm was nice and spacious. The only thing is there was renovation at the time so a lot of workers around and noise, and can't say much about cleanliness. They have a really nice garden and cafe, nice to chill, but the social atmosphere wasn't great. But overall, a decent hostel. Thanks!

A very good location to stay and have a short trip for pilgrimage (which is common in the area where this hostel is located). Equipped with good staff, good activities and a decent environment for a solo tourist or a group of youngsters travelling to Varanasi.

Great stay in a fab location on the ghats

Location is awesome. Reception and housekeeping staff is great. The kitchen staff can be a bit more hospitable. Else, it is a very clean, wonderful space nestled very near to Assi Ghat.

Nice and quiet place. Near Assi Ghat. Affordable price but Book early, price may shoot up in the last moment. Totally recommended.

Definitely one of my best hostels I’ve stayed in! The staff were incredibly kind & helpful particularly Devang! We celebrated Holi and they had a party in the hostel. Rooms were great and comfy. The food was amazing too. Location is perfect near the river and quiet at night time. 100% would rebook here

Very nice hostel! The staff is very friendly! Location is good, food is good. They have a ping pong table which is fun. Rooms are tidy and bathrooms are fine with warm water. Would recommend !

Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in- the food at the cafe is superb (thank you somveer you’re the best) and Akshay and Devang at the reception were very friendly and would help u with anything u need, thank you!!

Had a private room, was clean and cozy, everything worked, the hostel was at a good location and the staff was very helpful and nice. Can definitely recommend!

I loved my stay in Live Free, it’s right at the entrance to the ghats walkway so perfect for experiencing Varanasi! The staff, Amberi and Anol, were incredibly nice and friendly. They will drop anything to help you with trips or recommendations! The hostel itself is awesome as well, the courtyard and restaurant are perfect additions for relaxing after a long day exploring. I recommend staying here if you’re looking for a second home with great vibes 🇮🇳☀️

I had a fantastic stay at live free hostel. The staff was welcoming and very friendly, offered to hangout and gave recommendations for places to visit. On Tuesday evening there was community dinner and the food was delicious. I felt very comfortable there and the rooms were super clean. They have a garden infront of the hostel where you can sit until night and play table tennis. I enjoyed it a lot there!

Great stay and great hosts. Away from the chaos of the city. Booked for one day but extended it for four.
