The Backyard Inn

Hi, thank you for accommodating us. It was a great experience in your hostel -it was clean and well-organized. Pretty close to dive spot which best for me as a freediver. I’d love to recommend this to my friends and come back again here next time!

If you want even a minute of quality sleep, this place isn’t for you, the roosters don’t stop and can hear everything from people showering to the music. Great location and staff friendly.

We were not allowed to control the aircon in the room. Both the shower and bathroom were not clean, and we we were woken up from 3am to 5am by people drinking and coming in and out of the room

Prima hostel. Beetje krappe kamer. Toen ik arriveerde was er ook een verbouwing waardoor het niet echt een "chille vibe" had.

Staff do not stay on the property at night so didn’t feel super safe. This also meant people were up and loud until 2:30am even though quiet time was from 10pm, dorm room was good because it was big so lots of space. Good location

Good value for the price, was okay for a couple of nights. The beds were comfy but the bathrooms at the back of the dorms stank of sewage. I was with a friend but would not recommend for a solo traveller, as there wasn’t much of an atmosphere

Les dortoirs sont propres et l’hostel est super bien situé. Toutefois, j’ai trouvé que le personnel ne te recommande pas beaucoup les choses à faire. Installation super bien, peu d’ambiance. Mais sommes toutes très parfait.

Excellent location and a comfortable stay. I did the canyoneering tour through the hostel and really enjoyed it! They pick you up right at the hostel which is very convenient and it's competitively priced. Breakfast at the hostel was simple, but the best price I could find in town. My one complaint though is that there are VERY noisy roosters that make noise throughout the night. I had good earplugs and they woke me up every morning. People also wake up early in Moalboal to do the sardine run, ...

Such a good hostel! Perfect location, really nice and helpfull staff, clean, great areas. Nothing to complain about!

SUCH a good hostel! Firstly the staff were absolutely amazing, I lost my bag on the tuk tuk there and the staff took me to the police station and stayed with me until I found it. They were so friendly throughout the stay. The food was great, the tours were amazing. The rooms were so clean and I loved the chill area. Such a great value for money too. I highly recommend this hostel :)))

Get what you expect, good for a stay before/ after flight

Really enjoyed my stay at the backyard inn for two night. The proximity to the shops and beach is great, especially for an early morning snorkel. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Nice big dorm and comfy beds. Not very social would be my only criticism! Overall though would recommend!

Sehr nah am Hauptgeschehen, aber trotzdem sehr ruhig. Also eigentlich perfekte Lage. Es gab Wasser, Tee und Kaffee für umsonst. Die MitarbeiterInnen sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir hatten eine sehr gute Zeit dort!! :)

Gutes Hostel, eher chilliger. Wer schlafen möchte ist hier richtig.

Awesome place, comfy beds, great staff, bar and space to socialize in with other guests. Loved my stay here :-)

Staff were incredibly kind, friendly, attentive and helpful. We felt very comfortable and relaxed at this hostel. The bar area / hammock area was a great space for relaxing and socialising. Our only issue was the lack of floor space or space for your large rucksacks in the 8 bedroom dorms. Overall, a great stay and would highly recommend.

A big shout out to Jesse, joniel, vina and the rest of the staff for such a wonderful stay. They made the Philippines truly feel like home.

Highly recommended! The beds are comfortable and clean, and the location is ideal, within walking distance to food, the beach, and nightlife. The showers are excellent, and each bed has racks and a mini platform for your things, along with a spacious locker underneath. The area feels safe and clean, and the staff are friendly and always in a good mood. The food is tasty, and they offer unlimited water and free coffee.

Pros: + Hostel itself was comfy. + Good beds, clean dorms. + Location is central. + Nice staff. Cons: - Atmosphere: if I was travelling solo, I’d not recommend staying here since it’s not really social for backpackers and gives more of a hotel vibes. - Limited amount of indoor shower areas, approx. 1 shover / 10 beds. Would benefit from larger table area where there’d be sinks and mirrors for burshing your teeth etc.
