Smile Jungle Hostel

Breakfast was good each morning, and the owner is super nice and welcoming, which adds a warm touch. The property is surrounded by nature with lots of animal sightings, great for those who enjoy a rustic stay. However, it looks much nicer in photos than in person. It wasn’t very clean, there were many bugs, doors didn’t fully close, and I saw spiders near my bed. It’s far from town on a very bumpy road, and only two showers and toilets are shared by all guests.

Das Hostel gibt es erst seit 9 Monate, deswegen ist einiges da in der Aufbauphase. Das Frühstück ist ein Pluspunkt, der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und die Lage nah cocles Strand ist auch super. Wenn man vor Ort ist wirkt alles etwas raugher als auf dem Fotos: die Dorms haben keine Schließfächer, und Zimmer wären gemütlicher wenn sie Vorhänge hätten, und die social area wirkt momentan sehr zusammengewürfelt, es gibt keine social activities, aber ich vermute das kommt alles noch mit der...

A great place for nature lovers. Breakfast was included and was very tastefull! And even warm showers! You can see the host is working with his heart, such a great guy

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, vor allem weil man von Gonzalo so herzlich empfangen wird. Er ist bei allem behilflich und gestaltet sein Hostel sehr liebevoll. Außerdem ist sein Frühstück ausgezeichnet. Wer die Natur liebt und nahe dem Jungle sein will ist hier genau richtig.

Uns hat das Hostel sehr gut gefallen. Das Frühstück war super lecker und der Inhaber sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Hostel liegt, wie aber auch beschrieben, außerhalb und ca. 20 min zu Fuß vom Strand entfernt. Wir fanden das aber nicht schlimm, da das Hostel dafür in der Natur liegt. Nachts kann es ein bisschen lauter werden, aber nur durch die Tiere. Wir haben ganz tolle Leute kennengelernt, es gibt jedoch nicht viele Hostelaktivitäten, da das Hostel klein ist. Wir empfehlen es sehr:)

What a wonderful stay. Gonzalo is welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is a treat each morning. The rooms and bathroom are clean and cute. Frijolito is a gem. Really enjoyed our time here and hope to return!

It was an amazing experience! Gonzalo is the most caring and fun host. He makes delicious breakfast every day with lots of love and always smile on his face! ❤️

Gonzalo was a great host he is very attentive to guest needs and very personable he even took me out for drinks on my second day everyone was pleasant it’s a social atmosphere yet not a party hostel. The property is beautiful with all the art on the walls and I fell in love with the house cat frijolito 😊😊 the only thing is due to the location being in the jungle the mosquitoes will eat you alive so be sure to bring repellent for that but otherwise it’s a wonderful place to stay

Very nice place right in the forest! Feels like a better version of glamping :) Gonzalo was a great host. And the breakfast is DELICIOUS!

I loved my stay at Smile jungle. Gonzalo is a great host, and he has built this place with lots of love. :) I loved the location in the jungle, it was so peaceful and beautiful. Perfect place to charge your batteries. Other guests and volunteers were also very nice :)

I really enjoyed my stay here! The hostel is in a beautiful jungle location but only a 10 or 15 min walk to grocery stores, restaurants, and the beach. The complimentary breakfast was super yummy. And the hostel attracted a group of down-to-earth, friendly and lovely people, while the set up of the hostel made it easy to meet and chat with people.

Perfect! It’s peaceful, away from the action of the beach in an active jungle. Rooms were comfortable and clean, the social environment was laid back with opportunity to connect if you wish, but with no expectation. The owner is a gem of a man and he makes amazing breakfasts!

Amazing hospitality!

What an experience! If you want to have a full-blown window into costa rica’s beautiful nature while having a host that highly values hospitality this is the place to be! The hostel and the rooms are literally embedded in the nature, turning the stay into an unforgettable and unique experience. One of our highlights were the animal orchester in the morning. Gonzalo is a great host who takes care of his guests and puts a lot of love into the hostel.

A really nice hostel located in the middle of the jungle. Just 15 minutes after the check-in we saw the first sloth. :) The host Gonzalo is a really kind person and he makes such a good breakfast. He is open for any advice and you can feel that he wants you to have a wonderful stay and a nice experience. I can really recommend this hostel if you like nature, because there is jungle everywhere.
