Ember Hostel

Very hot and smelled bad in the dorms. Ended up leaving after 1 night. Kinda weird environment too.

No mention of a cat. Got really bad asthma and checked out right away. No response when i tried to get in contact for a refund. Please consider if you have really bad allergies as well!

The staff booted me out of my bed in the middle of the night with nowhere to stay. I have never been treated worse in all the hostels I've stayed at. The hostel was nice but the staff were horrible. I had to sleep in the airport. It upset my entire trip to Denver.

After more than a decade of backpacking I can tell that this has been one of the worst place I have been to. The structure is not bad, but what makes the difference when you travel is the staff. They are very odd, control maniac and they invent rules that are not written in their regulations. People who are just motivated because is their job. Staff member barely replied to questions and can be rude. Toxic environment, I rather recommend another Hostel where people are professional, fun and easy...

Yes! you can smoke in the garden but it won´t be nice if you are trying to have a nice time in the jacuzzi or talking when everyone else is smoking. They have a cat as a pet, so you´ll find cat hair all around (even in the kitchen!!) I wasn´t aware of that. I asked for cleaning service in the room bc it had a bad smell, and they just brought a spray :/ and I couldn´t open the window because it was winter. So, if you´re trying to book for a lady, I wouldn´t stay here. The guys in front desk...

Decent place with good street parking options. Like most hostels in the US, it’s a bit expensive for what it is. However, it was clean, and I liked everything except the musty basement dorm room we slept in. The staff, while kind, weren’t very helpful when it came to information. Would only stay again in a room upstairs. It was nice they had organized events!

had bed bugs and my neck has been swollen for 5 days due to bug beds and I only stayed one night. Also I wasn't aware the cat would be inside the hostel and my allergies were in full swing. Everyone was nice but I would stay again as the bed bug issue has caused a lot of issues for my skin and throat area.

Expensive style over substance. A nice clean hostel with friendly helpful staff but it doesn't get the basics right. The water pressure in the showers was pretty weak, the kitchen was tiny with no real dedicated dining area, the top bunks were difficult to get into and the toilets/showers were some distance from the dorms. The constant smell of marijarnia coming from the terrace and garden was also off putting.

Great stay in a historic property

This place would have been 5 stars all around if they had just handled the dust. It was so thick on most surfaces and the fans in my room that I could hardly believe the place was regularly cleaned. Overall, it's one of the better atmospheres I have been to; it's a shame that a small amount of effort could have made it one of the best Hostels in the state.

The location was convenient. Classy interior design and ample shared spaces to meet travelers or get a breath of fresh air. Special shoutout to Tashfia! who kindly and patiently helped me solve my complicated reservation.

amazing stay, only notes are on the cleanliness and temperature! there's definitely some cleaning to be done - there is in fact mold on the floor in a couple of the shower rooms, as well as at least 1/4 of an inch of built up dust behind my bunk. It was also very warm in the building during my stay but thankfully the bunks have fans.

Couldn't have picked a better hostel for my first one. Location is great and the bunks are awesome

this was probably the best hostel experience i‘ve ever had. the hostelroom was very beautiful, it didn’t really feel like a hostel. staff was very kind and helpful. i really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the hostel.

It was perfect. I had to attend a conference so I was worried I wouldn’t find a good place to sleep but this hostel was very quiet. When I wanted to chat, there was the outside patio with the hot tub and the fireplace that was just stunning and very cozy. Just around 20 minutes walking to downtown and close to everythjng you need. So happy with my choice.

I would to say this is a decent place to stay . I understand the building is over 100 years old but some things need to be updated . The rooms carpets are extremely smelly, the manager is very rude . The showers drains are horrible , after you wash once the floors are already flooded . The homeless are very present and will harass you . Overall , no bed bugs , nice people to meet and loves the fire place .

I understand why this Hostel was elected to be best in the World multiple times. It is luxurious, the beds are extremely comfortable, the amenities are incredible, and it is really clean. Location is great, staff is welcoming. Now go book it ;)

Great hostel in Capitol Hill neighborhood, pretty close to downtown. Hostel beds were comfortable, you get a towel to use, overall pretty clean. Only issue was the third floor sink was broken & leaking water otherwise it was good!

What a wonderful find!! Great experience all around and centrally located in Denver's Capitol district.

I absolutely had a fantastic stay at Ember! The hostle was absolutely beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Upon checking in, the staffstaff was very attentive and a tour was given. The next day I had to extend my visit, and Calum at the the front dest helped me do just that. He was very pleasant, and assisted me with all of my questions. The 8 bed female room, was very comfortable and clean. The hot shower was a 10! I will definitely be back! Transportation was also 10! Easy to get around!!
