The place feels poorly maintained. The common areas are old and have a noticeable damp smell. Hallways and bathrooms are clearly outdated and not very welcoming. The room itself was fine: clean and simple. But overall, the hostel gives off a neglected vibe.
Really don’t know how this hostel has ANY good reviews. It’s incredibly unclean, the staff are rude, it smells and feels like being on a farm. Spend a similar amount and stay in one of the great dive resorts on this island. Showers are salt water, and no aircon in the room all night. Please don’t stay here.
Wouldn’t recommend this hostel. Unhelpful staff, really dark inside. Saltwater in taps and showers, overall bad atmosphere. Ended up checking out after one night
wir haben ein Einzelzimmer gebucht. Es war verglichen zu den Hotelpreisen teurer und weit unter dem normalen Standard. Als wir nachts 6 Kakalacken im Bett hatten, haben wir ausgecheckt und in einem der vielen Hotels für weniger Geld eingecheckt
We booked a single room. it was more expensive compared to the hotel prices and far below the normal Standard. when we had 6 Kakalacken im Bett at night, we checked out and checked in in one of the many hotels for less money
Geen pleisters aanwezig, de badkamers zijn ranzig en de wc’s oud en stuk. Het water uit de kraan doet het niet en als er water uit komt stinkt het. Verder worden de kamers af en toe geveegd en dat is t. Geen gezellige sfeer lobby stinkt naar kattenpis
There are no patches, the bathrooms are rancid and the toilets are old and dilapidated. the tap water doesn't work and when water comes out it stinks. the rooms are also periodically wiped and that's it. no cozy atmosphere lobby smells like cat pee
Personeel was niet zo vriendelijk en behulpzaam als wat ik gewend ben in de Filipijnen. Verder had ik 10 wormpjes in de douche die ineens uit de voegen tevoorschijn kwamen als het water werd aangezet. (Note: badslippers zijn eigenlijk niet toegestaan in de douches). Kakkerlakken in de gang, en kreeg later van iemand een foto dat er zelfs een kakkerlak in iemands bed zat. Ik ben snel vertrokken naar iets anders. Verder wel fijne locatie!
The staff was not as friendly and helpful as I was used to in the Philippines. I also had 10 worms in the shower that suddenly came out of the folds when the water was turned on. (Note: badslippers are not actually allowed in the showers). cockroaches in the gang, and later I got a photo from someone that there was even a cockroach in someone's bed. I quickly moved on to something else.

The location is good and it is one of the cheapest options on the island. There are lots of bathrooms but the cleanliness varies and there are lockers but no way to lock the main doors.
I was not a fan of this hostel and actually ended up leaving early. The beds were comfortable and it was in a good location. But, it was so empty. I was in a 14 bed room with only 1 other man which I felt really uncomfortable with. There are no locks on the doors. The bathrooms and common areas were really dirty and the hot water didn’t work. I felt gross everytime I had to use the toilet, shower, or even brush my teeth.
Really good hostel, not very social but it was clean with good beds and good AC

The people working here were great, their laundry service was reliable and the beds were soo comfortable, the sleep I got here is the best I can remember from a hostel, always air con and the room is dark there are large lockers!! Highly recommend for a budget option to see the thresher sharks!

Es war alles in Ordnung. Leider gabs keine Decke oder Handtuch. Es war nicht sonderlich Social aber dadurch dass ich eh tauchen war und viel unterwegs war das ok
It was all in order. unfortunately no blanket or towel. it wasn't particularly social but by the fact that i was diving and travelling a lot that was ok
Het hostel zelf is prima: de bedden liggen lekker en kamer waar ik in lag was prima. Schoenen mogen ook niet aan in de kamer dus dat is fijn. Er is een lange wasdraad om je kleding te drogen: heel fijn. Je kan echter zo doorlopen in het hostel, ook als je er niet slaapt. De kamers zijn ook niet op slot, dus iemand die kwaad wil doen kan zo spullen stelen. De vrouw van de receptie was allesbehalve vriendelijk. The hostel itself is fine: the beds are nice and the room where I was in lag was fine. Shoes are also not allowed in the room so that's fine. There is a long washing line to dry your clothes: very nice. However, you can walk through the hostel even if you don't sleep. The rooms are also not on lock, so someone who wants to do something bad can steal such things. The woman from the reception was anything but friendly. That ensures a good number of people. Really good hostel - cool rooms and nice and clean. Only negative was that it wasn’t very social but that is just a result of the diving heavy nature of the island - most people are out diving early and not looking for a social scene. Usually easier to meet people in your dives

Very clean and nice hostel. As it was low-season, there were nearly no persons and it felt kind of lonely but still the staff was great and its only 6 min walking from the beach and 10 min walking from the ferry station.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The facilities are well-maintained and very clean, which made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were always welcoming and ready to help with anything I needed. The location couldn’t be better- close to shops, restaurants, and beach. For the price, you really get excellent value. I’d definitely recommend this hostel to other travelers.
I always love to stay and come back at Malapascua Budget Inn whenever I visit Malapascua for diving or simple leisure. The place is just perfect location going to the beach or the market place. The staffs are so nice and very approachable. The place is also clean with fast internet. Highly recommended!

Excellent place to stay on Malapascua! Big size bunks with curtains for privacy. Lockers for security. Clean showers. Helpful, friendly staff. Cheap laundry service. Aircon was a dream. Nice, chill, social area and super close to the food square. Highly recommend
Preis Leistung in Ordnung. Würde wieder bleiben

We loved it here!! We kept extending everyday!! Staff are very friendly and helpful! The beds are great you can’t hear people getting in and out of bed which is perfect :) It’s right next to a food market:) The most perfect little island
The place was good. Bedroom shared with a lot of people but it was nice and cold at night, ao great for sleep. Water for drinking available as well. only small downside was that the place for drying things out wasn't in direct sunlight and could be hard to dry touls.
Good showers / very clean rooms. No atmosphere. Nice beds.
