This is one of the most expensive hostels in el paredon but they do not maintain it. In the female dorm nothing works - the lights, the showers, the locks on the doors are broken, cupboards are broken, sinks are dirty, sheets have blood stains, wifi doesn’t work, constant power cuts. Other than that it is a nice place but they are clearly only investing in the new resort at the back. It’s also not a social place, it’s basically just a pool and restaurant.
The "Luxury Villa" was expensive. We were expecting a calm environment and good staff. We got 90+dB music in our bed until 11.55 pm, loud noise a 5.45 am due to the parking being right next to the villa and blood on the bedsheets when we arrived (Which they changed on our request). The staff at the restaurant was entitled and borderline rude, creating a very weird vibe, with close to no social interactions between guests. Most people seemed lonely and were on their phones.
Do not stay here. One of the staff followed my girlfriend to the bathroom and wouldn’t let her leave until she gave them 200Q. After this some of the staff were very rude the rest of our time there. The toilets are all really dirty and filled with mosquitos and the showers are salt water. Really nice location but a shame that a lot of the staff were very cliquey and rude.
I wasn’t made to feel welcome, this hostel is cliquey the volunteers are rude and just want to be there for themselves and chat to each other it leaves a weird cold atmosphere. The pool water is salty I can about deal with this but the showers are also salty and it’s impossible to wash you hair in. The dorm had an open roof yet no mosquito nets? It was only fan so super hot in day but at night absolutely freezing. Bar is expensive. Bed bugs and lizard poo on the pillows. Stay mellow or drift...
The place is nice however the staff have no idea what customer service is. They are full of volunteers who do not do their job well, it is ridiculous that they deny you the Wi-Fi password when they give it to light-eyed blondes immediately. Not worth the price you pay for the service you receive
they charged heaps because it was between Christmas and new year, i would understand that if the place was upto standard, but there was no wifi, the shower was just a hole in the roof and actually quite exposed, the bedroom had no AC, actually no protection from the mosquitoes (literally open air room). stay at Mellow instead its such a good hostel
Nice pool and a beautiful spot but honestly it’s just too hot to truley enjoy the place. The people who stayed there were nice enough but didn’t seem to want to branch out and make friends. There was an active shooting while we were there but security and the police handled it pretty good. Overall 5/10 just cuz it’s to damn hot and there so many bugs
Disappointing stay given the price point. There was no WiFi the whole time we were there and when we asked staff for updates they were quite rude and seemed annoyed we were asking. Also we did surfing lessons, the instructor didn’t give one piece of advice on how to improve. Also one of the boards was broken and my partner cut his knee on the board which has taken about 2 weeks to heal. We spoke to staff about the board being broken and the guy we spoke to just laughed and said we wouldn’t ...
Really disappointed with my stay here. Might be better on the weekend but there was no vibe. I stayed in the dorm and got eaten by mosquitoes all night. The showers and toilets are so dark, you cant even get ready in the mirror. There are much better options in El Paredon

The staff sucked. I asked for a fan damn near 4 times on two different days. Each time they stated someone will drop it off . Never did. I asked for a towel, had to ask twice cause they were both stained. Look s**t happens but don’t try to sell me a dream.
I had such a great stay at Cocori Lodge in El Paredón. The place has really good vibes and is super easy to meet people, whether you want to chat by the pool or just hang out and relax. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the location is honestly amazing right on the beach, and the pool was one of my favorite spots to chill. The food was also really good, which was a nice bonus. Overall, it felt like the perfect mix of relaxing, social, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
I’ve been in a shit tone of hostel before. In Latin America as much as in Europe, and this is quite frankly one of the best I’ve tried. Super fucking clean, the staff is amazing always trying to help, all of the area are kept spanking clean, plenty of activity to do or chilling spot to rest a bit. There’s room for every type of travel.100% recommended
As soon as I arrived, I noticed a clear contrast in the level of warmth compared to other places in Guatemala. It was difficult to even get a smile from the staff, who often seemed a bit rude. The women’s dorm was very disappointing: the toilet was extremely uncomfortable (I felt like I was hitting my knees), there was no place to put our bags, and it wasn’t clean at all. The shower was also defective. That said, the facilities themselves are quite nice, and the beach is absolutely beautiful...
Suuuuuper
I had a great overall stay at Cocori Lodge Hostel. The property is beautifully located and has a really relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind and meet other travelers. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, which added a lot to the experience. The only small downside was that the fans in the room could have been a bit more powerful, especially during warmer nights. Aside from that, everything else was excellent, and I would definitely recommend staying here
It’s a great place, would stay there again, but it’s a more party hostel than what we expected so keep that in mind if you want to go to bed before 12AM there is loud music playing. However, it did not affect our stay. The pool is amazing and it’s really nice to be right by the beach.
Had an amazing stay at this hostel, the staff were very helpful and thought the hostel was very clean. Loved being right on the beach and the activities the hostel planned for the evenings were well organized and enjoyable. Would absolutely stay again!
Great for being close to the beach. If you’re solo traveling and looking for company it’s probably not the place for you. While they have “events” it’s not really an intimate social scene. Hard to meet others especially with the way the place is set up. Feels very much like just a pool and restaurant and that’s it. That being said if you’re looking for alone time in a gorgeous environment, go for it!
First time staying in a 14 bed dorm but it was nice and spacious! Very hot during the day though. Bathrooms are outside, fyi. It’s right on the beach so very convenient, great pool area. My girl Leah is the bessstttttt ✨ and the vibe is extremely chill and in my opinion not the most social. I was social so that helped my experience but ppl were more so chilling and doing their own thing.
Great location by the beach, very close to other bars and restaurants in el paredon. The room was average but clean. The pool was amazing and facilities great, nice social vibes. The surf lessons and mangrove paddle boarding were great value for money as well.
Location right by the beach. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with lots of events and activities. Whole area was clean and tidy, with lots of staff constantly maintaining the area. Gardeners early in the morning doing a fantastic job and were super friendly. Check in and check out was easy. Food was tasty and drinks are a good price. Surrounding area is good. Shared bathrooms were clean and there were enough bathrooms that there aren't queues. Showers were cool water but this was refreshing. Love!
I had a wonderful stay in this Hostel Volunteers really make the difference, and the location is super good Would go back
