Staff is very rude they gave my bed to someone when I was out. And when i asked them to change the bed-sheet they said they don’t have time i have to change it by myself.

shocking hostel, stayed here once and had a tolerable stay, next two times I came they claimed they'd lost my booking and sent me to some dodgy crumby hostel nearby. don't stay here

I was really not impressed with this property. So many things went wrong during my stay there. First off, there was no running water for a whole day, so no showers or working toilets.The beds are not made until you ask them to. The rooms are not clean. The private room is in the basement downstairs and super musty and moist smelling. There is AC only in SOME dorm rooms, and not the private room. Staff seem disinterested and not helpful. They offer free laundry in exchange for good reviews.

I als ich ankam, wurde mir gesagt, dass mein Zimmer nicht mehr verfügbar sei. Ich kam um sieben PM an. Ebenfalls konnten mir keine weiteren Betten mehr vorgeschlagen werden, da das Hostel dauerhaft überbucht ist. Etwas so unorganisiert das habe ich noch nie erlebt.

Hostel was overbooked, found out once I got there, was not the only one in this situation.

Not enough showers and the hostel regularly overbooks and has to kick people out after taking their money. My bed was stolen several times throughout my stay

people coming into the ensuite even though they werent staying in our room. no lockers. no towels. location is okay. only locals staying at this hostel

这是一家假评分的旅舍，二十张床位在一个大厅里，所谓的房间用纱帘隔断，窗户又没有窗帘，日夜吵杂声无法入睡，整个旅舍只有一个洗澡卫生间，厨房在地下室又脏又乱，老板除了收钱啥也不管了。

Me and other guests did not really understand the good ratings of the place. It is a beautiful old house, and hosts many travellers from all over the world. But it is missing love / enthusiasm / motivation. The "garden" is a plain courtyard with cigarette butts everywhere. Men get asked to put up the toilet seat when peeing while standing - thanks for having all sorts of splashs on the ground... In Germany everyone should sit to avoid this. Plus lack of bathrooms (3 for all).

Need to employ at least one more person. I started in 4 bed dorm on the top floor. Mattress was soft & uncomfortable & left me with a sore back. (1 night in 6 bed dorm, mattress there fine.) 4bed dorm was hot. Curtains didn't cover the windows. Bathroom was a floor below, via steep spiral stairs. Location...

This hostel is very social and has really good and efficient staff, Valentin has been great and has made sure we enjoyed our stay. The hostel however is run down, the owner knows the hostel will be full because it social, and the toilets, beds, floors, facilities are not in good condition on not super clean. There is no lockers in the rooms, no curtains and the kitchen was disgusting. Beds are creaky and the linen are so short every night it comes out of the mattress.

Valentin is the sweetest person on earth ! The hostel is really nice to meet people and also the location is good. I really recommend it ;)

Very friendly staff and super social ambience! Not the best location but essy acces to the public bus and you can go anywhere

The hostel is great for meeting other travellers, very social and also the people at the reception are really nice and helpful. The beds were fine. However the bathroom situation is terrible. There’s only 3 bathrooms for the whole hostel.

Wow - Almaty Backpackers what a cool place to stay at while exploring Almaty and the surrounding areas! Spacious backyard patio perfect for reading, relaxing and sunbathing! Fun activities organized by the friendly staff included; barbeque, beerparty and even a trip to the Playboy club where there was a fabulous dragshow!! Highly recommended...;-)

The hostel is social, has a good vibe, and is very cozy. The receptionist is very kind and friendly. Would be nice if there were curtains on the dorm beds, but besides that, I’d recommend!

Social hostel

Excellent place. Clean, excellent courtyard and outside area, with laundry facilities and plenty of room to dry clothes. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the guests were all having a good time and respectful of common areas. Excellent kitchen with a gas stove and plenty of fridge space, and nearby markets; I was able to cook for my stay. The only minor downsides are the location (a bit of a walk to get anywhere) and low amount of restrooms. Besides that, excellent place! Thank you!

A solid, basic hostel. Location is pretty weird with not heaps to offer, though a short walk from the metro. No signage, staff said the area is known for break-ins so that’s why they don’t advertise.. eeek. Varied guests in age and origin, some friendly backpackers but not a ‘social’ hostel. Rooms, beds, bathrooms, general facilities and amenity super basic but fine. On the positives - Aisultan at the front desk is divine! This is a fine hostel. Surprisingly social when I was there which was great. The staff are a bit absent even though they are there all the time they aren’t really available or overly helpful. Facilities are fine, warm Showers and good kitchen set up

I stayed in the private room at this hostel, which was located in the basement. Although it does state this fact when booking, the room was actually not very clean. The showers were also not very clean. However, the host at reception was friendly and helpful.

Nice place and the room is clean and staff were polite
