Hostel Tropico 20 OceanFront

Extremely rude and unreasonable owner. My booking stated that I would have a private room but when I arrived it was a bed in a dormitory. I took out a private room in the Hostel, and it has shared air conditioning from the main room which really didn’t cool off our room, and the top of the room is open to the dorms so you can hear everything coming in from the dorms.

It says 6 bed dorm, but in fact it is one long hallway where everyone is passing through. Very misleading description. Could barely sleep.

I booked a 6 bed dorm, but it is a scam!!! There is a long hallway with beds. There was not a good vibe and the shower where mwah. Would not recommend this place.

El lugar está bastante bien ubicado. Pésima la atención del encargado. El resto de la chicas fueron amables y educadas. Sería una excelente opción son personas como él en atención al público.

Never experienced a hostel like this. You literally sleep in the hall in cubes. You hear everything and everyone walks by your bed. AND so unbelievably many mosquitos! The cube was full of bloody spots (dead mosquitos) Beds are comfy, staff is friendly and helpful, located very good!

Hostel waar weinig te beleven is, kleine gedeelde ruimte en binnenplaats. Roken moet buiten terrein. De bedden zijn prettig ingericht met voldoende ruimte voor je backpack, elektra en licht aanwezig. Prima hostel als je op jezelf bent en rustig wilt tukken.

Wie bereits beschrieben ist in dem Hostel eine komische Atmosphäre. Als Solo Reisende würde ich dort nicht nochmal schlafen. Es gibt keine Schlüssel für die Zimmer. Begründung: ist ja ein geteiltes Zimmer. Für die Wertsachen gibt es einen Schlüssel. Lage ist sehr gut und das Hostel ist sauber. Die Mitarbeiter sind alle nicht so freundlich. Außer ein junger Mann war sehr nett.

Plus: clean, location next to ferry, comfortable beds, nice staff, aircon starting 9pm Negative: no water provided (1. Hostel in 3 month not doing that! Have to buy bottles) Luggage storage is 10 usd, that is also very unusual and not good service for a hostel. I would never pay that, I'd rather give it to any restaurant and pay there (as a principal...) No chill area with comfortable chairs or hammocks, that's why I left.

Muy buena ubicación. El personal es muy atento y servicial. Es pequeño el Hostel pero muy acogedor. Quiero mencionar a la señora de la limpieza quien hace un trabajo excelente y siempre te regala una sonrisa así sean 5 veces al DIA que te la encuentres. En si felicidades a todo el crew , en conjunto hacen un buen trabajo.

excelente lugar para descansar, si vas solo o con 1 acompañante y si viajas ligero con una maleta.

No me gustó que no den agua (es muy común en los demás hostales de la zona) y que aunque rentes una cama en cuarto de 4 o 8 personas, justo afuera de estos cuartos están todas las 20 camas adicionales. En realidad compartes cuarto con TODOS los que se estén hospedando en el hostel. Si te molesta el ruido para dormir, no lo recomiendo.

nice and well situated, close to the party places without being too noisy. The hotel looks a bit weird with its erotic style but nothing shady. The dorm had a single combined shower/bathroom for nine beds, so could be very crowded if full. It is also a hotel so the reception is very responsive and professional.

Cheap and you get what you pay for. They kept the place clean which is a big plus but constantly had to ask for them to refill the paper towels. No real social space outside of the kitchen area. The AC is only on at night and you can barely feel it. I did like the bigger than normal space in the bunks and the location was close to everything you need in that area. I wouldn’t stay more than a few days here though.

Te cobran $150 pesos por guardarte el equipaje saliendo del hotel. Un hotel muy obscuro

Pros: Super clean Good location Amazing showers!! Cons: Noisy Can’t feel air con in bed if curtain is shut Does not provide free water No bar/ social areas

Petit hostel. Un corridor avec les lits et plus loin la cuisine et salle commune exterieur

En todos los hostel que he estado te regalaban agua para tomar , en este no es gratis. Además, te cobrar x dejar las maletas después del check out, cosa que no pasa en los otros hostales.. x lo demás todo bien.

A clean hostel. Unfortunately the private room I booked doesn’t lock from the inside. And also air conditioning is only on at night.

Loved this place, one big room with 19-20 beds… but never had as much privacy as I had here in any other hostels… you have a big space just next to your bed. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Would definitely come back here if I visit Cozumel again

Thanks to Rene from the front desk. He was really helpful and gave us great advices. Hostel is nice and clean, beds comfy, but it did miss a bit of atmosphere.
