Hostal Barrio Vivo

What a special place to stay. Beds are really good and comfy. Atmosphere is pretty cool and the bar give the place a really nice touch. Location is good for you to go and explore good places.

Property is very nice and clean. However, there is no hot water and the bar is open to the public which reduces the space for the people staying at the hostel. The dorms do not lock doors which creates a feeling of insecurity mostly since the dorms are easily accessible to the public. Most of the lockers were not functioning properly so we couldn’t lock our belongings safely… Only 16 beds in total and half was the staff. In result, very little socialization with travellers.

The hostel was fine. The door was just wide open and the dorm rooms were also not locked so anyone could’ve walked in, but luckily that didn’t happen. It’s a 15 minute walk from the more touristy areas and a 11 minute walk from the ado bus stop. The bar is nice, they did a jazz night while I was there that one night but I’m guessing it’s not your typical party hostel, it’s a bit hard to meet people

Very very comfortable and nice Hostel. Spacious. Beds are great. It is a little bit of a walk from the city center. Which I liked, but just fyi.

Very nice staff and nice private beds! I was just expecting that the breakfast will be served but you have to cook it yourself . It’s not bad just that nobody mentioned it

Very nice hostel! Activity leader Julio showed us everything and was very enthousiastic! Nice location as well. Not too far from the center, but far enough to be quiet. Very nice breakfast and kitchen!

War in Ordnung, der Gemeinschaftsbereich ist schön. Frühstück muss man sich allerdings selber machen und auch selber abspülen. Zum StadtzentrStadtzentrum sind es ca 20min. zu Fuß abends als Frau eher nicht optimal.

One of the best hostel of my trip

Really nice hostel

Very much a style-over-substance kind of place. The design is absolutely stunning, it’s a pleasant place to be around, and the beds are comfy. But… the nice-looking pool in the pictures will be shut (it’s only for show), there’s no hot water at all in the showers, and you get the distinct feeling that guests are only really there to fill in gaps among the regulars. Still, it’s well located and there are far worse places.

in a group of 3: one of our beds didn’t have a curtain, one bed the plugs didn’t work, and the beds are so close together that putting your stuff in and out of lockers is hard and disruptive to others. also the dorm is so cramped that it got messy very quickly. nice showers and kitchen but not a very social hostel

Really happy with a nice chilled stay here. Staff were really helpful. There's not lots of options in the immediate area however Uber is very frequent. The bar and social area is lovely, more hotel than hostel! I would definitely recommend staying here.

This is a really nice hostel! It's really chill but they organize activities everyday which are great to meet people! The rooms are really big and don't feel crowded at all. The only downside of this place would be that it's a bit far from the city center but the city has free bikes that you can rent so it was okay.

This Hostal, on paper, has it all and looks absolutely perfect. But it lacks soul and there wasn’t a nice vibe. Lots of volunteers who don’t seem to care about you. Every day you receive a text in the group chat about all the rules. No one asks about your day or your plans. If you don’t take the first initiative, they won’t include you. The AC can’t go higher than 21 (cold nights). People from the street walking in and out. The lock on my locker was broken. 20 min walk from the city ce...

Lindo lugar, staff súper amigable, solo que es un lugar muy tranquilo, no hay mucha diversión, además no me gustó que tú tienes que preparar tu propio desayuno. No es tan cómodo, aún así lo recomiendo, me volvería a hospedar con ellos

Mooi hostel! Het is goed schoon en de bedden zijn ruim en zacht. Verder is de gemeenschaopelijke ruimte gezellig en is het personeel erg behulpzaam.De ligging is goed, vlakbij het busstation en op loopafstand van het centrum.
