Very chill Hostel. Not the cleanest, but you have an awesome view over a ricefield with a sunset. And only a 1 minute walk to the Beach. The staff is very helpful and friendly! Many Mosquitos tho so better bring something against them.

My favourite hostel of my trip so far. The team at the hostel were so kind and helpful. Riri was always doing the most for everyone, fixing me up with scooter, laundry and surf lessons. It’s a really beautiful place to stay, overlooking rice field, close to some tasty restaurants and coffee shops too. The nasi goreng at the hostel was delicious too. Stayed here for 3 nights, great little hostel. Lovely view over the rice field where you can watched the sunset. 1 minute walk to the beach and surf break. Riri is a great host who made us feel very welcome and will help sort out any thing you need while staying there and booking activities. Will definitely be coming back.

It was great value for money, facilities are basic but it was a good location and had a super chill vibe. Riri was amazing helping us out with information and organising trips for us to the Green Canyon and the night market.

I loved staying at Jarwo’s, the host Riri is very nice! Make sure to bring some mosquito spray when you go here ;)

Stayed here for 2 nights and it’s fine basic bamboo hut and also the location is not far from the beach… would definitely comeback!

Ein entspanntes Hostel direkt in der Nähe vom Batukaras Surfspot. Die Hosts sind sehr nett und helfen gerne mit Touren oder auch beim Leihen von Bikes. Es liegt direkt am Reisfeld und ist sehr offen gehalten. Pro: Wirklich naturnah und schön. Kon: Es ist nachts recht warm und ich würde ein Moskitonetz mitbringen - Dengue ist hier nicht so verbreitet und die Mücken klein, aber Stiche nerven natürlich trotzdem. Insgesamt ein guter Ausgangspunkt zum Surfen in Batukaras

the cosiest and most homey stay, i could have stayed for weeks. staff are amazing, has a fridge, free coffee, toast, kitchen equipment. gorgeous views and the best atmosphere. the beds are cosy and private. thank you De Jarwo😁

I love this place. It’s a super chilled vibe with perfect location - right opposite a reef break and a short 1 min scooter ride to the point break. Really nice staff who cater to your needs, and I had such a nice community living with me when I was staying there. Had a great time. Amazing place, it’s right at the beach and very beautiful. I could have stayed here for weeks. The host is an absolute legend and makes you feel at home immediately. Such amazing food around and lovely people in batukaras xx Nevada

Very simple accomodation. 12 bed dorm, one common room, 2 showers and 2 toilets. State of hygiene leaves much to be desired. 3 stars because the staff is really nice.

J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer d'autres personnes avec qui nous avons passer une superbe semaine, l'hostel est simple et bien placé que ce soit pour découvrir ou surfer!

This hostel was perfectly located, right on the beach & a 10min walk from the surf spot. The hostel looked out on this huge rice field which was absolutely beautiful, and it had a really authentic vibe to it. The owner, Jarwo, was very helpful, however I would not recommend for a solo female traveller to stay here, we had a some uncomfortable situations regarding the owner (& also a tour guide)- also the owner and his son sleep in the same room as you. Other than that it was amazing!

Jai passé quelques jours à Jarwo house. L’emplacement de l’hostel a quelques pas de la mer est hyper appréciable. Jarwo a été très accueillant, nous emmenant dîner à notre arrivée. Il nous a également réservé les cours de surf et on venait nous chercher (mais la plage de surf est à 20 minutes max à pieds). Il a également organisé notre transfert à Yogyakarta. Om de locatie en de omgeving: absoluut een aanrader. De douche is half buiten, wat echt het paradijselijke gevoel geeft. Daarnaast heb je prachtig uitzicht over rijstvelden. De accommodatie is daarentegen niet schoon. De host is aardig en behulpzaam, maar hij slaapt wel in dezelfde ruimte als de gasten. Daarnaast heeft hij naar vrouwelijke backpackers ongepast gedrag vertoond, waardoor de waardering laag is. Als vrouwelijke (solo-)backpacker zou ik persoonlijk voor een andere accommodatie gaan.

I spent 4 nights at Jarwo's place, and it was truly a wonderful experience. A simple hostel, but very clean, with an unbeatable view on the rice fields. Djarwo gave me plenty of tips during my stay. For lovers of surfing, peace, and nature, I can only recommend Batu Karas!

This is a fantastic and beautiful hostel. The beds are all in the same room but they are all private, almost like capsules with a fan and charging port. The view of the rice terrace is beautiful, at quiet times you can chill and hear both the insects in the terraces and the ocean at the same time. Beautiful hostel at a beautiful village

Leuk hostel met een relaxte en gezellige sfeer! Gastheer is heel aardig en maakt graag een praatje. Mooi uitzicht over de rijstvelden en 15 minuten lopen naar het surfstrand.
