Everything was okay except for the part where the receptionist (dwisha) accused me and my buddy of smoking weed at the rooftop when we were literally sitting beside her and apparently she could smell it from us. Overpriced. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace is amazing. The bathroom was stinky. It was cold outside and the AC was running. No curtains and a thin blanket. I was freezing the whole night and felt quite bad the next morning. The water was not really working and of course I couldn't have a warm shower

Only positive:rooftop I have been travelling now for 16 months and have stayed in several high rating hostels and this the very first one that is nowhere near the rating it has . My 4 bed dorm was neglected. I was handed a bed sheet to make my own bed upon arrival and sent a message with room number. There was dust everywhere , windows not closing and bathroom light turning itself on and off all the time. Walls were filthy. Bins not emptied. They were quick to take my money prior to arrival.

I liked Dreamyard hostel better. The staff here seem to only care about you having a good time if they are making money off of you, felt very disingenuous.

Not my favorite hostel in the country; would probably not return. When I arrived early, there was no indoor space for me to hang out in other than the cold roof. There was also no common area showers for pre check in and post check out (unlike any other hostel I’ve been to in the country). There was unfortunately not much of a social atmosphere at the hostel. Finally, there were constant power outages (including in the middle of a shower when the hot water and lights went out).

Overall an on hostel, the rooftop is great and there’s a good common room although there’s no events or anything so it’s just used for chilling in. There is only one bathroom for a 10 bed dorm which is not enough and the door to our room was really squeaky and the blankets are a bit scratchy. The location is good and the staff were helpful although we had some issues with laundry but they did try to help.

Hostel mantra has the best location you can get in udaipur for the price. The staff were helpful. The only issue is outside drinks are not allowed in the hostel. you need to buy expensive drinks from their in-house bar.

Pros: 1. Location wise it's good, all the major attractions are nearby. 2. Staff is good. Cons: 1. At our time maintenance was going on, they should let customer know before booking on their site the details. Continuous disturbance from morning 9am to 9pm. 2. They doesn't even provide basic amenities and making business out of it, like no lock for your storage as it is expected in a hostel, no shower gel etc. and sourcing locks, soaps and towels on money. Probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in ever, defo the best in India - shown in the fact I booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for 6! The location is perfect, rooms are fab, I stayed in both in both dorms and a private and they were great. Best thing is though is that joy seems to radiate from this place, Ashish really looks after his guests - helping me plan the rest of my trip etc. Amazing stay I will definitely be back⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing hostel, friendliest staff we’ve come across and best sunset view (with free Chai). The sunrise tour was a highlight, definitely recommend! Everything was great. Go to this hostel.

Had the best time with the most amazing people. Ashish, Dwisha and Suyasha made us feel like long lost friends. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and the location of the hostel was A1 although we did end up ruining a couple's pre wedding shoot thrice before finally finding the exact road to take.

A home away from home. Comfort. Vibe. Views and Amazing people. Dwisha, Suyasha , Anurag, Alex and Joe made this trip really memorable ! Truly - You can check you anytime you like but you can never leave !

Mantra is honestly one of the coolest hostels I’ve stayed at! The staff were super friendly and kept everyone engaged with fun activities like karaoke night and movie night. I even celebrated my birthday here and ended up making some really good friends, the vibe is amazing and very welcoming. ✨ The only small downside was the lack of luggage assistance. I have stayed in various hostel around the world in the past 10 years, and this hostel in particular is right there in the top 3 of my favourites. The facilities and location of this hostel is without doubt the best. The view from their restaurant/ terrace overseeing the lake it spectacular. But what stood out the most is the hospitality of the staff and their owner. They made you feel welcomed and included you in their hostel activities. As an introverted traveller, I felt very comfortable!

Probably my favorite hostel in all of India! Everyone there is so welcoming and nice. The rooftop restaurant food is incredible and the view is simply unbeatable. The location, the sunrise tour, the social atmosphere, the beds are comfortable... I could go on and on about why this is the best spot.
