Great spot and a great owner. Awesome food - order the burger for lunch and ask Adriano what pasta you should try for dinner!! Super welcoming and hospitable. Wish I had more time here.

The hostal is a bit basic but the owner Adriano is super super cool and that makes it definitely worth it to go to this place! It’s a 5 min walk to the beach and the hostal feels save, cheep food options in 1min walking distance. Thank you Adriano for having us!! 🤙🏽

This was one of my first times staying at a hostel on my own (as an 18 year old) and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The owner Adriano is one of the nicest dudes I've met. Lent me a surfboard to use at the beach not a 5 minute walk away. The fresh meals that he made were beyond delicious. Clean, comfortable and tidy. I'd highly recommend the stay to anyone.

I can't overstate how much I enjoyed La Cueva del Grifo Loco, I would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Miramar. Great location a 2 minute walk from the beach, extremely good value, clean, nice view from the upstairs balcony. Adriano is the best host I've ever had, he consistently went above and beyond to my my trip easy and enjoyable, not to mention his italian cooking!

We loved our stay here, Adriano is super hospitable and caters for all your needs, he’s also an ex chef and cooks great Italian food, the property is a short walk to the beach and is nice and comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone who doesn’t want to stay at the overpriced surf camps.

Amazing Hostel very close to the beach. Miramar has really nice and uncrowded waves for surfing. the owner Adriano is a super cook and you can have the best home-made pasta.

If you're going to Miramar to surf and don't want to break this bank, this is the place. It's simple, but it's all you need. The owner, Adriano, is a life-long traveler himself, and he is the most gracious host you could ask for. A short 4 min walk to the beach and to the point for surfing. He knows everyone in town, and will tell you where to go for any meal, or you can order the most incredible Italian food from him. His food and hospitality is nothing short of legendary.

Cueva del Grifo loco is a very special place. We only originally were planning on staying 1 night, but Adriano's hospitality, the five star Italian cuisine he serves, the beautiful craftsmanship of the property, and comfortable mattresses made us stay.

Me and my boyfriend had such a wonderful stay with Adriano. He is a super nice and friendly man who is willing to help you with everything. And besides that his food is amazing!! Thanks Adriano for making our stay so nice ❤️

If you’re in this area, this is a must-visit hostel! Adrian is the best host, truly there just to make his guests have a good time. He’s a former chef from Italy who has traveled the world, and can make you a really nice Italian meal. However, he also supports the community and recommends other businesses in the area to buy from. The beds & sheets were brand-new and clean. Wish I could have stayed longer, thanks Adrian!!

This hostel is so sick, Adriano is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. So helpful and kind just an all round top bloke ! He also has on offer some of the best Italian food prepared by himself and it’s absolutely delicious. If you are staying anywhere else in Miramar you are doing it wrong. This hostel is honestly so worth a stop over if you are heading down the coast !
