I had an awful experience at this hostel. My wallet was stolen from the property, and shockingly, they have no working security cameras! When I reported the theft, the staff was completely indifferent and offered no real help. Extremely weird vibe in this hostel. Most uncomfortable I’ve ever been staying in a hostel to the point where I was afraid to sleep. It had halfway house/crack den vibes. There was an aggressive lady in the bed across from me, talking aggressively to herself all night. Reading out loud abusive text messages that she was about to send to someone. No lockers either, and no way would I feel comfortable leaving my stuff in a place with those vibes.

If you want to sleep, this is not the place to stay. There were people up all night in the common areas playing drinking games and the walls are paper thin. We also woke up with bug bites! Our start here was so bad we almost went to sleep in the car instead.

Receptionist didn’t know how to charge card or how to operate locker. Urine stained children’s bedspreads Two cockatoos in a cramped dusty unclean aviary in the main hostel dorm,dried p*o so obviously haven’t been cleaned out in at least a week. Ive studied animal behaviour and enclosure design the conditions were cruel and sad. no room for expression of natural behaviours and unsafe environment. The place would fly in the 90s maybe but these days it just feels tired and sad ...

Not sure how often the showers get cleaned give there is a warning sign about crabs on the shower doors. There is also an in-house cat..so if you're allergic, stay away. It's a fun, eclectic, funky place, but could be significantly cleaner. Also was not a good deal with four of us traveling together...I think a regular hotel room wouldn't have been much more and would have been way cleaner without worry about crabs.

Nicht sehr empfehlenswert, höchstens für eine Nacht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, trotz Ankunft mitten in der Nacht, aufgrund unserer Fähre. Die Lage war super nah dran. Wir blieben im 12 Bettdorm, der keine Türen hatte und ein Durchgang war. Es gab zudem keine richtigen Decken. Das Frühstück am Morgen war semigut, aber für den Preis voll okay.

Ahhhh what can I say… this hostel was definitely an experience. It definitely wasn’t clean, I came out in a rash on my chest I suspect from the dust, my friend came up with bites all on his legs after stay in the beds. The decor was dated and the sheets were for children (covered in fairies and superhero’s) i felt as though I was stuck in a bad dream. Good location for ferry and intercity bus stop. Communal and toilets were very try clean. Overcrowded, the kitchen is not big enough for the amount of guests squeezed in. Rooms have paper thin walls so even in a private you feel like you’re in a dorm with the rest of the hostel. Beds uncomfortable, needs new mattress, pillows and bedding.

Un emplacement irréprochable !! C'est très propre et ce style atypique est incroyable ! Les propriétaires sont très gentil et travaillent dur toute la journée pour que ce soit propre !! Petit dej ( pain de mie et confiture) + gâteau à 19h !! Pour un prix dérisoir !! Merci d'offrir aux jeunes la possibilité d'avoir du confort pour pas chère !

Perfect location when you arrive with the ferry or when you use InterCity. And a great atmosphere!

Lovely respite!

First impression was a lot - birds and colours and instruments and a lot of things going on. BUT, the man who greeted me was so kind, showed me around and once I settled in I really enjoyed it. Everything you need, including space when you want it and community when you want it. Also Wi-Fi, a towel, tea/coffee and books!

its a colourful and chaotic in the best way. kitchen was well equipped and room was nice

We slept here twice. First time was great cause we had a four bed female dorm. Second time we slept in the 28 dorm and it was okey cause you do have separate areas who can be „closed“ with a curtain and your beds have curtains as well but there was a really drunk guy walking around in the night being loud and also calling with his wife or whatever. That’s where we felt less safe but still a nice hostel. Maybe if those people could get thrown out next time would be better for all

Very affordable and a really special, funny atmosphere!

Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Alle sind sehr freundlich und sehr rücksichtsvoll. In den nächsten Tagen werde ich wieder dort sein.

Ich hatte einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in Picton. Das Hostel ist auf den ersten Blick speziell, aber auf den zweiten sehr gemütlich und sozial. Coole Leute, sauber und es gibt kostenloses Frühstück bzw. Dessert am Abend & kostenlose Milch für Kaffee, etc.

Weird vibe but it unites us all. Cool place.

Very close to the ferry stop especially good if you arrive at night but a bit sketchy!

The owners/ workers are the loveliest people ever, soo attentive making sure you’re having a good stay and it’s so sweet of them to make a free dessert and breakfast!! The hostel is decorated so vibrantly it’s super unique! It has a lovely homely atmosphere here, would definitely recommend staying the beds are comfy and good facilities.

Not many hostels allow families and this was our children's first experience and they thoroughly enjoyed the 2 nights we stayed! They loved the bohemian style and the buzz of all the different travellers chatting and mixing. The staff were very helpful and it felt very safe. Thank you! 🙏
