We chose to leave after one night (of no sleep!). The tent was pitched on ants nests and they had bitten holes under the tent so we had ants on all our stuff. The actual tent had holes in so we got COVERED in mosquito bites despite using repellent. The heat was unbearable. The WiFi doesn’t work properly. No grocery shops or restaurants nearby (we had crisps for dinner!). Despite advertising as English, no one there spoke English. No shower, only a bucket of water. Very difficult experience.
Staff are great, especially Gregorio and his tours! Seeing plankton I will never forget, most magical experience ever! Oh, and they speak English, which is very precious.

We absolutely loved our stay here, the host , Luis, was amazing, he was so friendly and helpful. As female travellers we felt very safe. We truly loved the tours he took us on (we did the plankton and snorkelling and recommend both!) and his lovely family own a restaurant with very tasty food! Definitely recommend staying on the island, we stayed two night and got to enjoy the beaches/island after the day trip tourists had left! Thank you again Luis, we hope to come back soon!
We had a fantastic stay at camping el Fructal. We stayed in a tent for 4 nights. The tent was under a thatched roof so the heat was not too bad. The campsite is located right on the beach where you can make free use of a beach bed. The owner is incredibly nice and very helpful. Nothing is too much for him. You can also enjoy delicious food at the campsite for a good price. We would go back again next time. Greetings Saskia and Jan Hein
Katja, eine Mitarbeiterin, hat uns herzlich in Empfang genommen. Unser Zelt war sehr sauber und wir hatten genug Platz für unsere zwei Backpacks. Wir haben viel in den Hängematten relaxed und konnten sogar Leguane in den umliegenden Bäumen beobachten. Zum Center sind es ca. 5 Gehminuten, wo es einige kleine Lebensmittelläden und Restaurants gibt und zum Strand Playa Libre waren es ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß (die zentrale Lage des Campingplatzes war super). Daher super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!
Katja, an employee, warmly welcomed us. Our tent was very clean and we had enough room for our two backpacks. We had a lot of relaxation in the hammocks and could even observe Leguane in the surrounding trees. It is about 5 minutes to the center, where there are some small food stores and restaurants and to the beach Playa Libre it was about 10 minutes on foot (the central location of the campsites was great). Therefore, the price-performance ratio is super!

I would highly recommend this place. Sure, it is not a 5 star hotel, but has great value for money. The owner Gregorio is super friendly, speaks great English and is doing his best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We really enjoyed the snorkeling tour he offered. The kitchen is well equipped (costs 5.000 COP extra). The campsite offers a very simple and authentic lifestyle for the island. Big contrast to all the touristy resorts! We loved it! Cheers.

Kleines, liebevoll hergerichtetes Camping, das Gregorio fürsorglich führt. Er spricht englisch, was sehr hilfreich ist, wenn man kein spanisch spricht :) Die Tour durch die Mangrovenwälder mit anschließend glitzerndem Plankton war sehr schön! Habe mich hier sehr wohlgefühlt und kann es daher weiterempfehlen!
He speaks English, which was very helpful if you don't speak Spanish :) The Tour through the Mangrove Forest with glittering Plankton was very beautiful!
