- I’ll start by saying that you just pay too much for the nothing you get. I got the private room + shower, and the door wouldn’t lock, the bathroom light got burned, and there’s a lousy fan that makes the noise of a thousand industrial appliances. We got locked out of the hostel for 20 minutes, and when we messaged the hostel to ask what was going on they literally said “it wasn’t 20 minutes, it was just 3” like are you kidding me?? The whole stay was a sad joke and time couldn’t pass fast enough for us to get out of there. Very bad experience.

+ Incredibiles! Reservé 2 noches en este hostal. Quería cambiarme de cama porque la mía estaba en el número 17 al lado de la entrada al baño. Recogí el colchón y esperé al señor de recepción que vino y no me dejó cambiar la cama. Lo acepté y descansé en la cama hasta que pasadas las 2 horas vino el jefe de recepción, Iván, un hombrecito, y me dijo que habían tomado la decisión de abandonar el hostal. ¡Porque estabo tocando el colchón de mi cama! ¡Increíblemente! ¡Evita este histal!¡Es un personal de mentalidad fascista! ¡Realmente no se lo recomiendo a nadie! Hay hostalas mucho mejores cerca que te tratarán bien y no harán que el personal descargue tus frustraciones contigo.
- Unebeliavable! I booked 2 nights at this hostel. I wanted to change beds because mine was at number 17 next to the entrance to the bathroom. I picked up the mattress and waited for the man at the reception who came and wouldn't let me change the bed. I accepted it and rested in bed until after 2 hours the head of reception, Ivan, a little man, came and told me that they had made the decision to leave the hostel. Because I'm touching my bed mattress! Incredibly! Avoid this hostel! It's a fascist-minded staff! I really don't recommend it to anyone! There are much better hostels nearby that will treat you well and won't make the staff take out their frustrations on you.... Incredibile! Ho prenotato 2 notti in questo ostello. Volevo cambiare letto perché il mio era al numero 17 vicino all'ingresso del bagno. Ho preso il materasso e ho aspettato l'uomo alla reception che è venuto e non mi ha lasciato cambiare il letto. L'ho accettato e mi sono riposato a letto finché dopo 2 ore è venuto il capo della reception, Ivan, un ometto, e mi ha detto che avevano preso la decisione di lasciare l'ostello. Perché sto toccando il materasso del mio letto! Incredibile!! Evita questo ostello! E' uno staff dalla mentalità fascista! Davvero non lo consiglio a nessuno! Ci sono ostelli molto migliori nelle vicinanze che ti tratteranno bene e non costringeranno il personale a sfogare le proprie frustrazioni su di te.
- When I arrived I made the payment for the reservation, and in my last day I asked if it was ok with the payment, when I got answered it was still necessary to pay for this last day. After, I realized I got charged twice, I got promised the refund that never happened.
- I had to pay twice for one of the days of my accomodation, they promised the refund but never did it.

The location of this place is great and for a reasonable price. They do a breakfast but for a small fee so I made my own. Kitchen is very small - they probably rely on most people eating lunch and dinner out in the city. My dorm was in a dark corner next to the stairs - the window didn’t open so no air flow which kept the room smelling musty and of B.O and dirty laundry. Bathrooms are clean but annoyingly there was always a bad drain smell. This may just be a general hostel thing though.
Really nice hostel with a cozy and social atmosphere. Everything was very clean and the beds were super comfy!
All you need for a very fair price. Dorms vary a lot.
Das Hostel ist sehr gut nahe einer Metrostation gelegen. Auch zu den meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten waren es maximal 15 Minuten Fussweg. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und ich habe mich immer sicher gefühlt. Das Bett war okay, sobald sich die andere Person umgedreht hat, hat das Bett schon recht viel geknarzt. Zu dem Zeitpunkt wo ich da war, war es nicht sonderlich social.
The hostel is very well located near a metro station. also to most of the sights it was a maximum of 15 minutes walk. the staff is very friendly and I have always felt safe. the bed was okay, as soon as the other person turned around, the bed was already quite creaky. at the time when I was there, it was not particularly social.
All employees are top, expect the ones how are not able to speak English.
Nicht buchen!! Die guten Bewertungen sind nicht die Realität! Trotz günstigem Preis ist das Hostel schrecklich! Eiskalte Duschen, kein warmes Wasser, keine Heizung, sehr kalte Zimmer. Küche existiert nicht, Kühlschrank verschimmelt und aus, Mikrowelle defekt. Frühstück minimal, mit Ameisen im Zucker und oft verspätet. Türen schließen nicht, Wertsachen unsicher, Besitzerin selten da, arrogant und unfreundlich. Rezeption unbesetzt. Am Ende wollte sie extra Geld für Decken aus dem gebucht...
Nicht buchen!! the good reviews are not the reality! despite the cheap price the hostel is terrible! cold showers, no hot water, no heating, very cold room. kitchen does not exist, refrigerator moldy and off, microwave defective. breakfast minimal, with ants in sugar and often late. doors don't close, valuables unsafe, owner rarely present, arrogant and unfriendly. reception unoccupied. in the end she wanted extra money for deck from the booked room

This hostel is located in the perfect place for a trip to Santiago. It feels safe and really easy to get to everything. Staff were nice and helpful and I appreciated the 24 hour security. Breakfast is good.
10!!!! Loved Hostal Forestal. Had a stressful 24 hrs of travelling and the guy at reception was absolutely a gem. So grateful for this hostel!
In a nice area in Santiago. It’s a quieter hostel with limited communal space, so wouldn’t be right if people are searching for more a more social spot.
Very nice stay, well located and a close walk to many desirable locations within Santiago. The atmosphere felt average, nice rooms and good bathrooms.
+ I had a wonderful experience at this hostel. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I stayed over New Year’s Eve, and they made sure to inform us about all the events happening around the city. Juan, Angie, and Guillermo are amazing people who truly made me feel at home. Many of the guests went to the midnight event together with the staff, which created a really fun and social atmosphere. Easily one of my best hostel experiences—I would definitely recommend it.
