First Hostel Bucharest

C’était extrêmement sale, un sans abris dormait devant notre porte et personne ne s’est occupé de le mettre à l’abris et dans un endroit qui ne gênait pas l’accès aux chambres. L’odeur des parties communes étaient nauséabondes, les lits grinçaient, il n’y avait pas de clé sur tous les casiers, de la lumière juste au dessus du lit, PAS DE PAPIER TOILETTE, PAS D’EAU CHAUDE !!! Nous avons payé deux nuits, nous ne sommes restées qu’une seule.

The receptionist with the British accent definitely doesn't enjoy her job and doesn't like dealing with people. She doesn't know how to be kind, she doesn't know how to smile, she doesn't know how to be friendly. Another factor is that Hostel World's policy is very clear in the app regarding payment by card. If they don't have an extra machine to process payments, they shouldn't transfer this responsibility, which is theirs, to the guest. It's a two-way street. Luckily, I only booked one night. ...

when we get to the room, the lock is not working - anyone can walk into our room! We leave our things in the lockers, put some things in our beds. When we’re back, the lock is fixed, BUT there is a random man sleeping in our friend’s bed, the hostel double booked her bed! His confirmation email said to just take another bed, but there were none left. Reception was closed and on one answered any calls. Everything was also nasty, and the breakfast was awful, no dishes and food gone by 9:30!!!!...

worst experience

As a solo female traveler I did not feel safe here. The rooms and bathrooms were dirty and male guests were drying their underwear in the bathrooms. There was an odd smell throughout the hostel buildings. Guests in the hostel were not friendly in demeanour and it felt awkward and unwelcoming.

Zentral gelegen und der Mitarbeiter war stets bemüht zu helfen. Leider war dies jedoch alles positive. Nicht nur, dass uns Essen von wahrscheinlich anderen Gästen geklaut wurde, (dafür kann das Hostel nichts) aber in punkto Hygiene hätten wir gerne Geld zurück bekommen. Das Mehrbett-Zimmer war tatsächlich sauber, aber die Gemeinschaftsbäder waren mehr als unangenehm zu benutzen und in der Küche haben wir außer einem Topf auch lieber die Finder von gelassen. Das leere Frühstück ist kei...

Not so clean… power kept going out. What you see on the photos is not what you get. Reception is manned by volunteers, sometime no one is there to help you out when you need it. The common areas kitchen and bathrooms not so clean and hygienic. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone to be honest

Martina, die Rezeptionistin war super, aber das Hostel war erschreckend dreckig, eng und voller Kakerlaken. Wir fühlten uns unsicher, das Frauenzimmer lag direkt bei der lauten Küche. Frühstück = Geschirrscheppern & Telefonklingeln. Küche komplett verölt, Wasserkocher kaputt (wir mussten unser heißes Wasser für die Jakobs Krönung im Eierkocher machen😓). Duschen unsauber, Klos nur mit unterdrücktem Würgereiz nutzbar. Spart euch das, 2 € mehr sind es wert!

I enjoyed people cooking in the kitchen. Bucharest doesn't have great restaurants at the budget end. Clean. One or two strange local guests and the spectre of gang that won't show itself, but not from staff. Theft of my food in the fridge. Romanians lived with betrayal under dictators for too long and the legacy means they don't offer information. The hostel is honest.

Nice hostel, tho a bit far off of the city center

Many mosquitoes... a bit noisy and trashy but the guy at the front desk was very nice :) Worth it for one or two nights.

Die vielen verwinkelten kleinen Aufenthaltsorte drinnen und draussen sind wohnlich, ausserdem gab es ein kleines Arbeitszimmer. Gute Basis, um die Stadt zu entdecken.

The staff was super friendly but in general it wasn’t worth staying in there. I couldn’t find the entrance, my roommates were super weird (mostly naked), they were doing some renovations so it was kinda messy in the hallway. The lockers were kinda small and you had to ask for the key because for the rooms you were given a code.

Good hostel and 15 minutes away from the center. You have a supermarket 2 minutes away. And you have a breakfast every day! But atm. the lockers are not usable and i had no place to lock my camera equipment… The showers were also a little bit old. And there was no lock for the bathroom. But besides that… good hostel.

The cleanliness of commun areas needs to be reviewed. Many things are in poor condition. (bathroom, lockers, walls, etc...)
