YHA Ennerdale

Walked here from St Bees . Staff super friendly. Evening meal great breakfast amazing. Sheets and duvets clean. Shower ok. The views were great too. All round top place to spend the night after a long walk. Note that Ennerdale YHA is about 5 miles on from Ennerdale Bridge.

Can't beat the location, very friendly atmosphere and the staff were lovely.

Superb location great views and abundance of wildlife including a rare red squirrel each day. Seems to be the ideal first days resting spot for people walking the Coast to Coast route. I had a great day's walk upto Seallan top and circular And had a refreshing paddle in the stream below. Once you've settled in you'll appreciate it's charm.

amazing, a little hard to get to on foot if your backpacking without a car though

Er was een probleem met de pomp van de centrale verwarming, de pomp maakte een vreselijk geluid wat de hele nacht doorging. Slecht geslapen!!

Great stay in a fantastic location

A marvellous hostel deep in the Lake District. A must-visit for anyone. I had the whole place to myself! A bit scary, but nice. Generally very family friendly. Ask them, and I think they’ll accommodate. Really, really wonderful staff, you don’t just find people like them anywhere - really genuine people. I can’t wait to come back soon. So, so cheap too!

Greatest location to detox and fully immerse yourself into nature; Ennerdale (though a little tricky to reach!) is such a great spot to explore the Lake District without distraction or crowds. The hostel is so accommodating; the honesty cafè, resources explaining the land use/ownership of the surroundings, extremely comfy beds, games and books, friendly staff are (to name only a few) what make this hostel great. Incredibly priced and worth every penny, I can’t recommend this enough.

A very welcoming team at the end of a long day's walking in the rain, and a very good supper to restore us. Thank you! The only disappointment was that the drying room did very little to dry our clothes - even the quick drying items.

Very comfortable, clean and the staff were very efficient and friendly.

Written by my 9yo: Aaron is the best, he ran the hostel and did the cooking. The meals were excellent and there’s a full English for breakfast, there are some amazing walks to go on and it is right next to the lake which we had to ourselves. There’s loads of blackberry bushes in the area, we went on a walk to pick them. There’s a little garden out the back with a seating area and it has a gate to enter a field and I used my drone there.

Overall good but the shower was awful, for person who love to take shower ,that's the worst place. Location amazing
