Had an amazing time! was the only one there for most of my stay, was super peaceful and calm with beautiful views!

Great fun! I was there on a Tuesday night so I was the only one there, bit spooky. Great ameneties, including a projector, full kitchen, mini-office, mezzanine bean bag area, and balcony; as well as the grounds of the house and priory.

Had a wonderful 1 at the Animal Hostel - very easy to get to from Nottingham with the 26 bus stop a 10 minute walk away. The hostel is set in some magical grounds - I was lucky enough to see a kingfisher fly past. The animals very sweet, especially the Shetland pony! I was the only one staying so had the place to myself, but can imagine it's a great space to hangout with other people and enjoy a movie on the projector. Everything I needed in the kitchen and the host is super lovely. Thank you...

I had a great experience at The Animal Hostel! I would absolutely stay again and recommend this to any travellers, including female solo travellers like myself. In terms of security, the doors do not have locks, but I was assured the hostel is located in a safe area, which I found to be true. Very accessible by the bus from Nottingham, and surrounding towns and streets are lovely for a walk. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet country getaway.

Amazing hostel in the most insane location, right in the heart of the countryside, beautiful grounds and animals to pet! The hostel itself is beautiful, great facilities such as access to equipped kitchen, projector tv and to top it off a very accommodating host. There are close neighbouring towns with shops, cafes etc and lots to explore in the area around. Would definitely recommend as a lovely getaway which won’t break the bank, will be returning. Thanks for a great few days!

I had the phenomenal pleasure of staying at Animal Hostel for a few days over the New Year. Few words can explain what it’s like for a city boy to come to somewhere where life is so serene. Mornings only accompanied by bird songs and the occasional moo or bleat. Strolling the grounds and meeting gentle fluffy giants. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat, with an eccentric accommodating host that makes for great company. I’ll be back very shortly.

Such a great hostel! Beautiful building on the outskirts of Nottingham, comfy beds, great kitchen facilities. Staff really lovely, amazing to have some peace and quiet! Will stay again 100%

This was one of the loveliest and most thoughtfully furnished hostels I’ve ever stayed at – it’s a dream come true! Super cosy rooms heated 24/7 in the winter, comfy beds. Gorgeous living area with sofas that you never want to get up from, a well equipped kitchen with free pasta, rice and porridge you can cook when you want. But best of all you’re surrounded by RESCUED ANIMALS – just imagine waking up and brushing cows, petting mini horses, walking through the countryside. EVERYONE SHO...

I didn’t really know what to make of the Animal Hostel when I booked a night in November 2024 since it was brand new and there were no reviews yet. After spending the night, I can say confidently that the place is as advertised. The location was easily accessible, the scenery was beautiful and the location was super clean. The animals were friendly and it was super enjoyable spending time with them. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning in the near future.
