Fable Hostel

Me and my boyfriend just got here in this island to meet his friend who did stay in this hostel. We parked the motorbike in the parking area of the hostel. The time we arrived, there was this guy who’s part also the staff who came to us and was very unfriendly. We’re very smiley asking that if they have an available room for us to stay tonight but he said there’s none. He told us directly why we went to their area if we didn’t even book online.. like??? We had an emergency and asked if we could use the WiFi for 10 minutes, their reply: where do you stay? Don’t they have WiFi? We explained that the power was off there and therefore no wifi. We basically had to beg for WiFi for 5 minutes. It was an emergency!!! VERY HELPFUL!!! Extremely disappointed with our stay here with the worse front desk team I’ve come across in my years of travel. We chose this hostel due to the amazing reviews however, the service from the team was non existent. It felt like we were disturbing them from their hang out time with each other and didn’t feel like anyone worked there. They lack any sense of customer service and are always on their phones and lying around the social area (which has limited seats) as if they were the guests. Whe...

Bedbugs.. intense bites all over my body with mostly threes in line. It showed up after my 4th day there so it was definitely from the hostel as the place before was spotlessly clean with no bites.

Closed. Went there because I got it recommended but the entrance is closed. No sign or anything.

I’m a little confused by this hostel, for all the high ratings I was expecting more. The hostel itself is actually pretty standard. The only thing good about this hostel is the staff. The rooms are huge but the beds are tiny and hard! The ac gets turned off at 11am till the evening which I wasn’t expecting with one of my more expensive hostels. No social area unless you sit in the reception, family dinner isn’t in the hostel but at local restaurants which is good but there was no real guid...

Nice big rooms and decent facilities at the hostel. Location fairly good as could walk to paliton beach. Felt as though the hostel didn’t offer too many social activities (compared to Palawan) or day trips out etc so was harder to meet people as a solo traveller. Also was a fairly small common area. Lovely cute dogs though!

Honestly, I don’t understand why this hostel has so many incredible reviews. I was so disappointed with my stay. There’s no common area to socialise/meet people (there are some chairs by reception but that’s it). I went during peak season and it was sold out, so socialising should’ve been easy. The hostel was really pretty with lovely check in area to chill. Dorms were big with lockers and basic breakfast (toast and small pastry) included. Good location a bit further from the nice food spots but accessible by bike.

It’s a nice hostel though the shared area (where the reception is) is a bit small and the seats are not very comfortable. Also the dogs sometimes come to you when you’re eating and try to have your food. The dorms and the bathrooms are very good, there’s a lot of space. What’s annoying is that you need to take your shoes off, and the staff is very strict about it

It was a very nice hostel. The room was spacious, and everything was clean, including the bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are a few restaurants nearby, and Paliton Beach is within walking distance. There were always tuk-tuks available in front of the hostel, which made getting around very easy. One of the best hostels I ever stayed at! Everyone was super kind and supportive, the family dinners were always a lot of fun. There's so much to do and always so little time. I hope to be back soon!

Fable was an amazing place to stay. Family dinners in the town most nights, comfy beds, peaceful location, really close to paliton beach (the best sunsets ever)! I don’t ride a motorbike and still managed to visit beaches, waterfalls and good food spots easily & affordably :)

Ervin and his team were amazing. From the moment I landed very friendly energy from everyone. The rooms are huge with great space to spread out your belongings. Only thing which would be a lovely addition would be a curtain on the lower part of the bed but your towel works perfectly to block out light and provide more privacy. The hostel itself is spotless in every way which is great with warm showers. The cafe next door wonderland is amazing the banana and choco fudge are a must try.

The best hostel in the Philippines! Super fun, sociable and relaxed. The dorms are huge and clean and it’s such a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

The definition of a very good social hostel where you can meet everybody in 15 minutes. Location is good. Facilities are nice. Staff is friendly. There is free breakfast. Every night there is family dinner and thanks to that you will know everybody! best hostel in Siquijor for sure !

I loved my stay at hostel! The rooms are huge, clean and the atmosphere is amazing. They have family dinners almost every night which makes it really easy to meet people and rent scooters for a very reasonable price. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at!

Everything is thought out properly here. Rooms are super spacious, clean and lots of space to leave backpacks. Storage lockers are large enough to store belongings too. Bathroom facilities are clean and functional and showers are spacious with hangers etc to leave towels and bags. There is a cute common area where everyone meets for the provided breakfast (coffee/tea/pastries/toast) every morning and they also do family dinners! Easy to meet fellow backpackers here too! Made some great friends

I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights March 2026. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the common area is nice for meeting others, they do their best to organize travelers to meet up (group chat and dinners), wifi is reliable, the rooms were quite large, and washrooms were clean. The one thing with this hostel is you need a motorbike (or prepare to spend money on taxi hires!). I loved my stay in the hostel so much that I stayed 11 nights in the end. The atmosphere is so lovely. The owner and the volunteers make it feel like a big family. Somehow the hostel also attracts very nice guests!

這間真的很舒適又乾淨，住起來很舒服～工作人員都超親切，老闆也很熱心，有需要都會幫忙。還有三隻超可愛的狗狗，整個氛圍很加分！這次剛好遇到停電，但有備用電，所以完全不受影響，真的很安心。整體CP值很高，下次再來一定還會住這裡，很推薦！

Really amazing hostel. Super social without being a party hostel. Staff is so friendly, breakfast is nice, and rooms are large.

Great hostel! Hosted family dinner every night, took everyone to events, scooter rental where you just take it as long as you want and pay by the day, nice rooms, friendly staff, clean, I loved it. My only improvement is that the common area was pretty small, but the hostel next door has a huge one so I just went there every now and then for lie down time

One of our favourite hostels in SEA, the rooms were so spacious and the family dinners were great to meet people. The staff were lovely and great location with a short walk to the beach. Common area was nice to chill in with snacks and coffee/tea and very cute dogs! We’d definitely stay here again!
