This property gave us bedbugs!! The lady at the front desk was nice enough but blamed us for bringing them in instead of trying to compensate us…thank god I took videos of the sheets and mattress where you could clearly see the infestation. Ruined my trip and the staff was not helpful or apologetic at all.

Absolutely disgusting hostel. We had a private room and there were ants infested everywhere. We woke up every morning covered in bites. Showers were so powerful that it hurt. Music every evening was really good but got bitten lots whilst sat outside as it was rainforest vibes. We moved to bounce after a few nights and it’s much nicer!

Pretty short opening hours for reception, bag storage etc. Not really worth it

Absolutely filthy. Old socks and underwear covered in cobwebs on one of the shelves which would leave you wondering when it was last cleaned and why you have to wait around to check in if it’s not being cleaned. Duvet also had unusual green stains. Was booked for 3 nights, left after the first.

Great location! Comfy double beds. Lovely and very helpful staff. No social areas within the hostel, only really the bar attached. Bathrooms / showers were fine.

The double rooms are SO basic and wouldn’t say good value for money at all. Showers etc are really old. Didn’t feel there was much of a social vibe here.

Bathrooms were not fully enclosed structures — they’re a habitat for spiders, moths, and other bugs. Room smelled musty.

If you want a quieter hostel than go here instead of Nomads (which is down the road). The kitchen was functional and well equipped. Bathrooms and toilets were clean. Atmosphere is below average, but perhaps this is because there's no real communal spaces.

It was literally like your bed was in the rainforest. We had a double bunk bed which felt like a cabin and the showers etc were all outside. Only 2 showers and 2 toilets on each floor and it was not cleaned regularly at all. Ideal location and good atmosphere from the pub at night. But was shocking the fact there was only certain times you could get your luggage from the compartment and if you missed the time slot you had to wait another hour. Kitchen was decent.

This was a fantastic little oasis, I loved the jungle vibe. It was so clean, cool with the AC, and quiet among the sounds of the birds every morning! The bathroom facilities could’ve been cleaner, they felt like you were showering in an outdoor shower, but if anything it added to the jungle experience :-). The mini fridge and tea kettle in each of the rooms was a nice touch too!

Ganz süß wenn man Natur mag aber man muss halt auch mit vielen Käfern, Mücken etc klarkommen. Die Badezimmer sind draußen und im offenen und man sieht auch mal Kakerlaken. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung. Haben einen kleinen Kühlschrank. Küche ist top. Lage ist auch top. Die Bar ist 1 Minute entfernt und immer mit Live Musik. 5 Minuten bis zur Lagoon.

Would recommend here. Close to everything and we only noticed bugs in our room on the first night but had some bug spray so caused us no trouble.

Didn’t quite deliver the quiet ‘rainforest’ and peaceful private room I was hoping for. The hostel bar is SO LOUD every night, so much so my room was actually shaking from the bass. It could also be quite stuff but at least there was AC, otherwise a very basic room. The rest of the hostel was quite spread out, with minimal security. Anyone could walk over the bridge and around the rooms and my key never seemed to work? Need to not mind bugs, the creek runs through the hostel which is quite...

great location. double room basic but fine, kitchen good. found it difficult to meet people, seemed a lot of couples and not many solo travellers. sadly the bar feels a separate entity, every day full of older people, not hostel guests. could do with events/section just for hostel guests to socialise. all rooms had key but anyone can walk around hostel including one night the local topless man that drags his speaker playing loud music

Good location, Magnums bar was fab! Loved the vending machines located around + our room was in a good location so we could access the wifi whereas some rooms can’t get it as it’s too far. We had ants in our room + bugs which kept coming in and biting us (not ideal), and the kitchen shutting at 9am was inconvenient tbh. Also our room had a weird smell lol. Enjoyed the stay though but i’d probs recommend other places instead

Good location in an outdoor setting. Stars for 1 night which was convenient.

Very cool hostel, feels like you are staying in the rainforest and loved that we could bbq here. Events each evening and the cane toad bidding was an experience.

This is such a unique place to stay and I would recommend to anyone!

Good rooms and bbq area. Not the most social for backpackers but good for couples

Very nice place in good location. Setting like in a jungle is good. Comfortable bed and clean. Should have wifi in all rooms, that’s one thing to change.

Location is perfect and shared kitchen facilities were really good with lots of outdoor areas dotted around. Room was quite small though and shared bathrooms weren’t great, no WiFi in our room and bed was quite uncomfortable too.

We stayed in a private bunk bed room. The room was decent a little dark. Room had AC which was lovely! Bathrooms and showers were outdoors so that was different. Shower heads were low so if you’re above 5’ you have to duck. Otherwise a lovely property. Just spent a couple nights to go to the whitsundays!

good value and great location, however we heard two men next door loudly fighting, shouting and punching the wall for around an hour, and when we tried the security and out of hours phone numbers they did not work. we were a bit concerned for our safety, and we didn’t want to confront them as we were just two women.

I absolutely loved my stay here - it’s just what I needed for a relaxing little break up the east coast! Staff were lovely and I managed to get in my room so early - thank you I will be back!
