California Surf Waiao Beach House

Really lovely owners, the location is great and there are lots of activities to do. The cleanliness is not good though, I got covered in bed bug bites during my stay, which was confirmed at another accom. I have bites that have turned into painful bruises on my legs after my stay, the dorms and bathrooms are in desperate need of a good clean, the beds were very uncomfortable too.

Owner is very friendly and welcoming. Location is perfect, you exit the porch and you’re on the beach. Although this, the hostel feels very run down. Beds are not comfortable and mattresses would need a change. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

Very friendly owners, this place is perfect for a beachfront getaway. Spectacular ocean views from the balcony, right in front of the beach. Great place to learn to surf, the coaching staff are very professional and fluent native English speakers. The pub across the street even has live music events!

Amazing hostel! Garrett and Jean are the best! They are super kind people and they really care for their guests. The location couldn’t be more perfect. They have a balcony that you can sit and watch the waves from. You are also steps away from the beach. It’s an older yet very cozy house. I truly felt at home here. My only complaint is the mattresses are thin but I still slept well regardless.

Tolles Hostel, sehr abgelegen, aber genau das richtige, wenn man Surfen möchte. Das Personal, besonders Jean und Garrett sind super nett. Ich kann sehr empfehlen hier die ersten Surfstunden zu nehmen. Und Probier die Pizza im Pizza Pub gegenüber.

One of the best hostels I stayed in! First of all the location was perfect, right by the beach, in a good surfing spot. The place itself is nice and cozy, the dorms are comfortable, there’s a nice porch with sunrise view, TV with both Netflix and Disney plus, a washing machine, and all the facilities needed in a place with a homelike vibe. Besides from everything else that was also great, the best part is the stuff, Garrett and Jin are super nice and friendly and really care about the guest...
