Masaya Tayrona & Beach Club

Very bad experience. DO NOT BOOK. What supposed to be a relaxing holiday in front on the beach, turn into hearing the construction heavy works that are happening inside the hotel from 7 am to 6 pm . Not possible to chill at the beach or the room when hearing hammers and drilling constantly. We did not get any info before arriving. This works started already in 2023 and will last for 2024 as informed afterwards. Very expensive for a bad experience, the manager never agreed on having a chat.

One of the worst hotel/hostel experiences I have had. We had a suite, which is supposed to be the better room but there was black mould all over the bathroom. Staff didn’t care and wouldn’t let us switch room. Their food was awful and both my wife and I have been sick for the following few days. We didn’t eat anywhere else, so it had to be there. I’ve stayed at several Masaya hostels and this one was my least favorite by far. Staff was kind, location is good, food and drinks just okay, but other than that it’s dirty and the vibe is off. All sheet and towels I received had significant stains, the toilettes never flush fully, there is significant mold, and no sense of community among the guests for lack of communal activities. A estrutura do local é muito boa pra relaxar. Não tem festas, é mais um local pra descanso. Mas, tem boas festas perto. E é um pouco caro.

In these days, the entire hostel is a construction site. After your reservation (not before !), you get an email with this information. For instance: You cannot use the pool. But apart from that, the rooms were small and stinky. So i suggest that the manager informs BEFORE guests make their reservation. I am convinced that after the construction, this hostel will be very improved and worthwhile to stay. The keywords here are: information before booking. It is as simple as that.

Our Superior room was very nice and clean, however there was construction going on, meaning it was very loud in the morning and during the day and besides that, there was no pool and no activities. We had to go to other hostels to actually do something, which sucked. But the room was great

Overall I liked the Masaya Tayrona very much, the pool and the infrastructure of the hostel is súper good. What was a big no go is the dirtiness of the dorms and that they are not cleaned on a regular basis, esp the toilets. I did not feel very safe as a female solo traveler in the mixed dorm, I had an incident with a male guest and reported that to reception and nothing happened with the receptionist literally telling me "if he tries to get in your bed, then we do sth".

Our room had not been cleaned when we arrived. The beds also had not been changed. The rest was pretty good, but the hostel was a bit boring.

+ location, poolarea nice an clean, good food in the restaurant, not too much party, directly at the beach - the 2Person room (without Bath) was very muddy and dirty, old musty bed, very dirty and discusting flyscreens in front of the window, no bedside table, everything has to lay on the ground, just one big very glaring light, the bathroom is too far away. You can NOT swim in the sea because of the stream. And the Hostel is NOT SOCIAL, more like a resort. No recommondation.

It's a nice place with a stunning pool by the beach and beach access. but i just wouldnt stay here again. its not located on the main road. you need a motortaxi to get here and it's not really near anything. you have to get a motortaxi to go or do anything. and whilst this may be the case with other hostels too. I just found it not to be the most social given the fact that most guests are locals staying in private suites and the restaurant isn't the nicest. but the staff are all sooooo friendly

War alles top, wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer das super schön war. Die Anlage ist auch toll zum Sonne genießen und zu relaxen mit spanischer Musik. Die Anreise ist auch easy mit dem öffentlichen Bus und Motorradtaxis (geht auch mit Koffer). Rundherum gibt es nur andere Hostels/Unterkünfte daher ist man hier auf das Essen angewiesen. Es ist aber immer iwo etwas geboten (Yoga, Livemusik, Karaoke etc). Die Lage ist auch super für einen Tagestrip in den Tayrona Nationalpark.

Le confort en pleine nature.

Gran servicio, bellas instalaciones. Y lo mejor del paseo, Jhon. Es muy amigable, divertido y nos atendió super bien. Este paseo fue lo mejor gracias a él.

Beautiful location! The private rooms seem to be a bit overpriced for what you get- which is just a small room where the bed fits. But I guess the amenities make up for it

Très beau beach club, le personnel est vraiment adorable et ce sont de vrais bosseurs, cela force le respect. Cependant c’est extrêmement bruyant ( musique très forte sur les enceintes à partir de 12:00 et qui s’arrête à 22:00 mais l’hostel juste à côté est une boîte de nuit alors vers 3/4h du matin il y a du calme. Possibilité de fuir le bruit un peu plus loin sur la plage ). Point très négatif: les gens viennent pour faire la fête et donc polluent la plage ! SVP ne pas poll...

super sejour, la piscine est incroyable, il ya des animations tous les jours. on a meme pu voir des singes sur la route vers Costeño. le dortoir de 8 est très grand.

ein wirklich super schönes Hostel. Es ist eher ruhiger im vergleich zu den Hostels drum herum aber da jedes Hostel Gäste willkommen heißt ist es eigentlich perfekt

Pros: -Amazing value for money -Huge dorm rooms with pod beds -Pool is very good -Very clean -Mini gym -Like a luxury resort amazing for relaxing for a few days -Food was amazing but not cheap! Cons: -More of a resort feel than hostel -Lacked any atmosphere -Expensive food and drinks -Had to pay for bottled water and it was so overpriced (bring water with you from towns) -Staff not very friendly -Lots of locals and couples stay here so not just a backpacker accommodation

De la zona de guachaca considero que es los mejores hostales, el dormitorio es amplio, con camas divididas en cubículos, con cortina, ventilador, enchufe, aire acondicionado, la piscina es grande y da con el sol, tiene muchos lugares comunes, es muy grande, la verdad nos gustó mucho a mi amiga y a mi, volveríamos sin duda.

In den Badezimmern war leider viel Schimmel, davon abgesehen ein ganz tolles Hostel!

Pricey but pretty. If you want a chill couple of days in a hostel that feels more like a resort this place is what you’re looking for. Food lacks a bit though

Buen spot, un poco elevado de precio pero muy bueno 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Buen lugar, buena ubicación en la playa, desayuno rico, buenos cocteles, la piscina es espectacular, el personal y staff es muy bueno, buenos dj y el entretenimiento. Viajé con toda la familia y estuvieron muy comodos. Por mejorar las duchas compartidas de los hombres. No probamos el almuerzo pero nos dijeron que no era tan rico comparado con loa precios. Muchas gracias a todo el personal

Lo que más destaco es la atención, realmente un personal increíble!!! No es ambiente de fiesta si eso es lo que buscas pero tranquilo, la piscina riquísima, los espacios comunes y los dormitorios cómodos. Lo único es que no tiene cocina entonces sí o sí hay que comer la comida del restaurante que rn mi experiencia no fue tan rica
