Wise Owl Hostels River Tokyo

It’s gotta be more obvious in the listing this place is right below a railway track. Every 5 minutes the whole building shakes when a train passes right on top - they are legit connected. You get about a 4 hour window of sleep other than that it’s constant shaking

I don’t understand how no one is talking about this, but the hostel is located right under the train tracks. Anyone who values peace and a good night’s sleep should know that every five minutes the whole building shakes because a train passes by. The upside is that it’s definitely close to the station.

nice looking and close to metro station. BUT the bed smelled like urine and looked like it hadn‘t been properly cleaned in years (under the mattress). the staff did not seem to know what was going on when asked about laundry or lost and found - overall not the best experience.

Sadly I wouldn't stay here again. This hostel is literally built underneath train tracks, you can hear the trains passing from very early in the morning to midnight shaking the building. So having a good sleep was a challenge. Also the there are no comfortable seats to chill at the communal areas, either bar stools or mats on wooden crates. No breakfast provided either. Great hostel, very nice vibe. Location in Asakusa is close to Senso-ji temple and Tokyo Skytree but further from Shibuya/Shinjuku. Very easy to get to airport from. Nice foyer/cafe/bar area, room was clean and bathrooms were functional. Only downside is that it's underneath a railway line, trains stop from ~12am to ~5am but going pretty constantly otherwise

The staff and facilities are great, only thing is the subway is literally on top of you. Every time a train goes by the whole place shakes and you feel it. Besides that it’s great!

Buen hostal, muy bien ubicado y muy cerca del skytree. Buenas instalaciones, camas cómodas. Mi única sugerencia es que pongan cinta antideslizante en las escaleras a la litera porque es muy facil resbalar como me pasó a mí y mejorar la ventilación de las habitaciones.

Très bon établissement, le seul inconvénient étant la ligne de train, mais si vous avez le sommeil lourd vous ne l'entendrez pas le matin.

I’ve stayed at a few hostels in Tokyo and this is by far my favourite. When back in Tokyo I won’t be doing any searches for hostels as I know I’ll stay at wise owl again.

This is a great stay because it is so close to Tokyo Skytree. If you’re a train enthusiast, you might enjoy the railway above the hostel which favors frequent trips throughout the night. Thankfully, the hostel supplies earplugs. However, the noise really isn’t a big deal if you’re properly tired from exploring and nightlife. Nice clean open area plenty of charging stations, very walkable area. Could use a little thicker cushions on wooden benches Not much of a kitchen area

Great hostel ! The staff is truly the best thing about this place. I had an amazing time at the Halloween party.

Really nice place! Perfect location and really cool people. The kitchen is lacking a few items but you get around!

Quite possibly one of the best hostels in Tokyo! Huge shoutout to the incredibly kind and welcoming staff ❤️ The location by the river gives it a relaxed, peaceful vibe—even if it’s a little outside the city center, it’s totally worth it. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a chill and memorable stay! 💫

great hostel! the staff was super helpful and friendly. unfortunately the kitchen was small and didn't have much so it would be hard to cook there. And the atmosphere is chill but a little reserved. still, great beds and clean areas. I would definitely stay here again

100% recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful home base while exploring Tokyo. Very easy to get around on transit, but it is in a quieter part of the city. The bathroom facilities are immaculate and the small kitchen has everything you need. The staff was so kind and had wonderful recommendations for activities. It was not the most social vibe but I think everyone is out exploring the city - might be nice to offer some group events to get people interacting - but overall amazing hostel!
