Bunkalow

I had such a great stay here! The hostel was always very clean, and the staff were incredibly kind. A special thank you to our guide (Ish), who is honestly one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. He made the experience unforgettable. I truly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area ;)

Hostel is quite far out of the town. The staff were helpful but did forget to give us towels and sheets for the first night. There are no curtains around the bed nor any lockers.

War eine tolle Unterkunft.

Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. They were all amazing. Very comfy and nice room and great location. We done a food tour with Saduwa which was amazing such a great guide and some great local food spots. Defiantly a great place to stay. Only thing to improve is blinds let in a lot of light so very bright in the morning.

Loved this Hostel! Everyone was super kind, the beds were comfy, and the common areas very beautiful and cozy:) the location is perfect for relaxing in between busy City Trips to Kandy (don't worry tho it's still really close by tuktuk to the city center!) Two more big pluspoints for the guitar and the super sweet hostel dog!!:))

So happy I stayed here! Sumith was a generous and outstanding host. Brilliant breakfast, lovely views and very nice relaxation areas inside and in the garden.

this hostel is the perfect location to be in the nature but still have access to the city. There are tours to many different locations from the hostel. We did the ice bath which was really nice and refreshing. Janiya and the staff are all super lovely and made us feel very welcome. 100% recommend stay here, the dorms are comfortable not one bad sleep.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel! It’s all very clean. It’s 15 minutes from the main area but that was a selling point since the area was quiet and pretty. The staff are super kind and they organize tours that are fairly priced. My only issue was I got a female dorm and while one guy asked to sleep there because he was can’t climb the bunk available due to injury, another slept there without asking us girls and that wasn’t very comfortable for me and hopefully it doesn’t happen ...

Peaceful atmosphere, right by the river, the perfect way to wake up 🌞 The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming :) Will definitely come back again!

Decent place. The staff were the best part of the hostel- so friendly and helpful with anything you need. The dorm bathroom smelt bad and could have been a bit cleaner (so many bugs) but great stay

I stayed with my friends in this hostel for 3 nights during my trip to kandy and I loved it. The place is located in a very calm and beautiful area. The hostel in itself is very pretty and perfectly clean. The owners are incredibly nice. Always ready to help you, available at any time and very very friendly. They are always smiley and care a lot about your well-being and the quality of your stay. Very social place, animated but also friendly for people who like a quiet time. I recommend !

Bunkalow is hands-down the best place to stay in Kandy. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, truly going above and beyond for their guests. The hostel is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, and offers unbeatable value. I loved the balance of the chill atmosphere and the social deck overlooking the river. There is also delicious breakfast that can be purchased at the hostel which I really loved.

This hostel was nice but needs more toilets only one toilet upstairs and one downstairs for over15 people so was always waiting for toilet, the staff was really nice but overall rooms need a bit more work

Excellent hostel. The space is clean and well maintained. Staff is very nice. They help you with everything you need. Also had a very nice tuktuk citytour with Janiya, one of the hostel employees

Such an amazing hostel in Kandy, I can’t recommend Bunkalow enough. Sumith, Ish & Janiya always went out of their way to help with anything I needed and make me feel at home - some really nice guys! The hostel itself is also really amazing value for such a stunning and well kept property. It’s a really chill vibe but also has a great social area for meeting other travelling with a view of the river. Also, they have the best hostel dog Tashi who is the worst the visit for!

Definitely do the food tour and city tour. The food tour takes you to the most local places. The city tour is a bit of a chose your own adventure and he went above and beyond to make sure I got the most out of it. The manager of the hostel was also so nice and helpful. I would stay here again Things to note: - no lockers - tons of mosquitoes. I really wish they had mosquito nets

I had a really nice one night stay at Bunkalow. The location by the river is beautiful and gives the whole place a calm and relaxing vibe. The rooms were clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The shared spaces and bathrooms were well maintained and the garden area is a great spot to chill and meet new people. Overall it was a welcoming place. I’ll definitely be booking again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.
