Never At Home Green Point

It was the worst nightmare I could have experienced. My backpack — with my passport and computer inside — was stolen from my room from another guest. I tried everything to get support from the staff, and their effort was really poor. Staying at this hostel was the worst decision I have ever made. The location is fine, they have many security issues and they will not be liable for situations like this even tho it was within their facility. Feeling disappointed and sad

I arrived around 8 in the evening and the guy at the reception only brought me to my room, didn't explain something. later I found out that I needed 2 codes to get into the Hostel and into the dorm area. everything else I found out by asking other guests. (Pool, Restaurant etc pp)

Pretty bad room design. The beds are right next to the bathroom and the door so you wake up in the middle of the night when people come in + when they go to the bathroom in the middle of the night you hear EVERYTHING. There's ample locker space near the window. Put the beds there, simple. The receptionists were also bad, the day after I checked in. I was asked 3 times if I was staying there. But no one in front, nor after me was stopped. Hmmm, wonder why. Lastly, saw a roach in the lounge ew

i really really despise the 10am check out in this youth hostel. 10:30am i can accept. toilets arent always clean, because this is such a big hostel. vibe is okay and somewhat cliqued as many travelers already been here for months. Lots of activities, but mostly having to pay. if you stayed in big hostel its all about making your money and kick you out asap, franchise vibe and not much "family vibe"

Decent hostel in a good location. Staff are brilliant and tours can be arranged through the hostel. I would be giving a higher rating but a good night's sleep seemed impossible. There were groups of longer staying guests that didn't seem to mind getting in at 4am and talking without regard to others. There seemed quite a few people wanting to move rooms for similar reasons.

Amazing hostel. Very social, events and strong bar scene every night. Great staff and volunteers. Effy, Jojo, Crystal in particular were very friendly and helpful.

As a first hostel experience I was a bit overwhelmed from originally booking a 12bed dorm to find an older man in there stripping off naked each evening/morning so had to change to a private room. I think there should be an age restriction in place and/or curtains on the bunk beds for at least some privacy. Apart from that; friendly staff happy to change my rooms, and would visit again only through a private room though.

The people were great, but the staff sucked. They weren’t nice or thoughtful, just some locals that don’t help you during your stay. Bathrooms aren’t great but suffice, altogether not worth your money as it is fairly expensive for what you get. Lot of old people is this hostel as well. An age limit would do this place wonders

It was a great experience overall. I did miss having privacy curtains in the mixed dorm.

Great hostel, I highly reccomend doing the tours to meet people. Amazing bar with amazing prices also

Overall a good hostel but when I stayed it was full of under 20's which is a different vibe than usual. Location was handy to the V&A waterfront. Liked that you could organise tours through the hostel. Would recommend to others

Hatte eine sehr schöne Zeit im Hostel. War in einem 6 Bett Zimmer, das auch eine schöne Größe hatte. Das Bad hat eine ausreichende Größe leider hatte es aber keine Lüftung und auch kein Fenster. Das Badezimmer ist sehr hellhörig, sodass man im Zimmer alles hört. Die Lage vom Hostel ist sehr gut und nebenan im Randy kann man preiswert essen und trinken.

I had a great time at Never At Home Greenpoint. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel has a large variety of tours and events which were great for solo travelers to meet and explore Cape Town together. The bar was vibrant on all nights and had cool activities such as beer pong. My highlight was the safari tour which I would definitely recommend. With regards to the bedrooms, they were comfortable and clean. Overall, I recommend this hostel when traveling to Cape Town.

Ótima localização, atmosfera e funcionários. Tem um bar na entrada que está sempre movimentado. Quarto limpo e organizado. Senti falta apenas da presença de máquina de lavar roupas.

Perfect hostel in a great area in Cape Town, which left nothing to be desired.

Best hostel in Cape Town. Pool was a bit small. A bit too much partying for my taste, music from the bar gets very loud and the crowd is mostly very young and gets drunk there every day. Really loved reception staff, they’re so kind! The wine tasting was a blast!

I had a good stay. It’s very clean & safe and the location is great. What stands out are the group trips which are great. However, the feeling at n@h is sometimes a bit more like a hotel rather than a hostel. For example, there isn’t really a cozy place to meet other travellers (there’s the bar but it feels detached from the hostel) so the community vibes are just not as strong as they could be. The group trips can also be quite pricey.

A larger hostel, so expect more of a hotel type of feel. But our private room was incredibly clean, quite (as much as could be expected), and the staff was great. The private parking for our vehicle was also welcomed.

Overall, I had great stay! Beds were pretty uncomfortable but the vibe and the variety of organized activities convinced me. Generally, it’s located in a pretty safe area in Cape Town as well.

This was a great hostel…. Best atmosphere for people who want a bit of a vibe. Rooms were simple and clean, everything was washed daily. Good facilities for cooking and hanging out. Bar at the front has great deals each night for different things. Would stay here again for sure.

Kind staff well located . Room 414 sometimes has very loud bangs from the tree above shedding pods which fall on metal roof The tree was over this room only and perhaps the adjacent one
