Gallery Hostel Porto

It's clean but that's it. But the bunks are the highest I've ever seen. Hard to climb. I felt so insecure sleeping on the top. No curtains for privacy. Staff was unwelcoming. Every hostel I've been to that has no stairs would offer to carry my luggage without asking but they just be watching me struggle. At check out i was in a rush but staff was just chatting with some of the guests. Weirdest hostel Ive ever been to. I prefer a cozy home vibe. It feels sterile here.

Het is een luxe hostel waarbij meer ruimte als verwacht is bij de slaapzaal. De badkamer met lockers waren fijn maar erg onpraktisch ingedeeld waardoor de ruimte naar ons idee niet optimaal benut werd. Verder was het hostel prettig en schoon. Het ontbijt was erg goed en kregen we zelfs ontbijtpakketten mee voor onderweg. We voelden ons erg veilig maar misten de gezelligheid met medereizigers. Het voelde een beetje als een zakelijke hostel. De prijs vonden wij aan de hoge kant.

Definitely not my favorite hostel. Super clean and tidy with new-ish furnishings. Feels very sterile/corporate. Many rooms are in the “garden” which are window-less a caves. Location is not ideal (15 minute walk to much city life.). Few social activities. No real space that promotes travelers meeting each other. overall it was a very nice experience, very nice staff and the breakfirst was the best! The only thing we didn't like that much that the construction work started early and there was a kindergarden nearby, so it was a bit noisy. But apart from that it is a great hostel with nice beds and bathrooms, very clean. we where there two nights and would come back! :)

Amazing customer service, really modern and a great hostel!!

Wonderful breakfast in a really lovely house - you have a hotel-like feeling. Unfortunately roommates can ruin your nights with their random comings & goings. Staff are very business like but they rarely go the extra mile for their guests. Popular with older solo tourists too.

The staff was extremely helpful in advising me about Porto, and helping me fell comfortable at the Hostel. In particular, want to commend the receptionist on Sunday, a young woman, who went out of her way to make me comfortable.

It’s located 15-20 min from the the main downtown area. Security is good, staff is helpful. Nearby mini market is less than 5 min away. Very little social activity here. It seemed that everyone kept to themselves.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s convenient to get to and close by to the main attractions, restaurants and shops. The rooms and facilities are super clean and the staff are lovely! The breakfast here is great also! Didn’t get chance to try their restaurant but food looked exceptional!

Highly recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Porto. All the staffs were exceptionally friendly, professional and thoughtful. Superbly clean and well decorated space.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in. Very clean, nice relaxed vibe and very helpful and friendly staff. The showers and sun terrace are amazing!

This hostel is the best I’ve stayed in. Safe, great location and facilities. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Great recommendations, and the breakfast is great with both hot and cold food sets you up for the day. Definitely worth the money. I’d highly recommend here! Also the beds are very comfy and have 1x EU and 2x USB ports bedside

A hostel for adults. Classy, well thought out, nice spaces, functional, abundant bathroom facilities. The only issues I could mention are that the kitchen facilities are limited, and there is presently (Feb 2026) construction ongoing during the day, and it can be a bit noisy. Everything else was fantastic.

The hostel’s facilities are nice and clean. Good hostel for some some nights to explore Porto. Nice location in a very artsy street and close to the botanical garden with nice views from the city. The vibe was not suuper social, however, I did meet some people over breakfast.

Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. They have great staff who show you places to go and visit as well as many daily activities through the hostel. I did a wine tasting for €13 at the hostel bar. The rooms are cleaned and made daily. Kitchen area with breakfast available and restaurant onsite. Nice and safe area. Only downside is no elevator but staff was kind to help with luggage.

Loved my stay. The rooms were huge and had a balcony. The beds were a bit creaky but otherwise comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful too. The included breakfast had a nice spread. The location was not very far from the centre and in a good area.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed I. Thank you to João and the team who were great. Facilities are world class and definitely do the breakfast in the morning. This is a calmer hostel but nearly everyone I met was amazing — from staff to travelers. If you’re staying in Porto and looking for a high-quality hostel there’s none better.

Amazing location and one of the most beautiful hostels to stay in!

This is my first trip staying in hostels but I couldn’t ask for much more. Very clean room. Clean bathrooms. Slept like a baby. The only issue was my roommates did not like air conditioning and would not let me turn it on but that’s not the hostels fault. So it was a little warm at night but the AC worked just fine when I could turn it on. Just know you’re sharing a room with low IQ people sometime. AMAZING HOSTEL though

The hostel was a little far removed from everything which was lovely in the sense that it was quiet but meant it was a bit of a walk if you wanted to go down do the water or other sites. Otherwise it was spotlessly clean and a lovely environment. I recommended it to a friend who is going to Porto soon. Much quieter than a more social hostel but I really enjoyed it.

Viajamos por primera vez a Porto con una amiga y quedarnos en Gallery Hostel hizo que nuestro viaje fuera aún más increíble. La atención de Leandro en la recepción fue excelente, nos dedicó tiempo para explicarnos lo mejor de la ciudad y darnos las mejores recomendaciones, todo el personal es muy amable (bar, limpieza, cocina, etc), el desayuno delicioso… me he quedado en hostales de diferentes ciudades del mundo y este ha sido hasta ahora de los mejores. Gracias por todo, espero volver...

A lovely stay that felt classy and lush. Loved the set up in the dorms with the detached bathroom, with a hallway between. This kept the sleeping space quiet and undisturbed. Also great restaurant downstairs and great breakfasts in the morning! Loved my stay.

This property has been so beautifully put together that it feels more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. The beds are extremely comfortable and the washrooms are fantastic. The complimentary breakfast was a nice way to start the day and the staff was very helpful.Despite the beautiful atmosphere, the social scene was slightly lacking, but this could’ve just been for the time I was here as the Hostel did have a monthly event calendar. Either way, Gallery Hostel was awesome!
