Sinharaja Forest Gate

Great location if you want to go to the forest, but nothing else. It’s really a couples place, so if you are solo, probably you feel alone. The restaurant there is the worst, I ordered chicken rice and all of my food was with bones. All the staff don’t know English, which is hard.

Pros are: Location was beatifull, the sinhanjara forest in walking distance. Cons are: The was no hot water for the showers and our room was filled with bugs. A musquito net would have improved our experience. We also had problems with the staff unable to talk english so they communnicating was very difficult. The only one who could speak english was the manager but he wasn't there most of the time. The guided walks organized by the hostel where very overpriced 50 USD 2 person 40 USD 4 pers...

By far (!!!) the best place I’ve been to in the whole country. Very thoughtful staff, amazing communication with the manager and the best guide for the rainforest I could have asked for. The rooms are big, the atmosphere right ne t to the rainforest is indescribable. Would 100% recommend!
