Rooms were so weird, no main light

One of the staff, a receptionist was very rude for no reason. She need to learn manners

Not clean. Too small. No kitchen. No curtain. Inconvenient for charging the battery.

5 night stay Pros: Sturdy solid metal beds. No fear that the top bunk will fall down Housekeeping staff clean very thoroughly Cons: Extremely tiny rooms. No space to set down your bag, to take off your shoes, to unpack your suitcase. Bathroom is so small you can barely turn around Huge party atmosphere with loud music downstairs that is always bumping No privacy curtain around bunks Dorm lock didn’t work and door could be pushed open with no key, wasn’t fixed even after I mentioned to staff

Lots of random people in and out of the place as there's a bar in the hostel. Not a ton of young people and not many chances to meet other people

Bedroom was poor and facility’s weren’t great

The Hostel is terrible. Too expensive, dirty, horrible atmosphere.

The beds are terrible, amenities are fine. No vibe to the place though. I met some nice workers there, although unfortunately I encounter one of the most rude employees I’ve ever come across in my life working at reception of an afternoon/night. He had a shaved head and a beard, never have I encountered such a poor and rude attitude at anywhere before in my life. Hopefully he was just having a bad day and isn’t normally that way. Ruined my experience here.

I was by myself and I checked in on 2 July until 6 July in a private room. The girl from the check in didn’t know how to make me pay just one city tax and made me pay the city tax for 2 people, even if I was alone. On another day I talked to the manager and he said they would give the rest of my money back. Nothing until today.

Hostel nicely located. But the vibes was just OK. Most of the staff was really nice in general but had one of the receptionist was really unpleasant when asked simple questions (and not the only one to experience that). Luckily she's not here everyday otherwise and all the others members were really welcoming.

I stayed at The Bulldog hostel and had a positive experience overall in terms of comfort and enjoyment. However, my bed station (light and charging outlets) was not working. I reported the issue twice, but it was not fixed during my 3.5-day stay. One staff member was rude and did not offer help or alternatives when I asked to change beds. I had to rely on other guests’ outlets and the bathroom. Still, the rest of the staff were polite, and this seems to have been an isolated issue.

Great experience here! Felt very safe, beds were comfy, and it was nice that the bathrooms were cleaned every day! Due to its centrally located area, it got a bit loud at night

Was an amazing hostel, good location, walking distance to food and shops, beds where comfortably, USB or USBC plug-in unfortunately no where to charge a computer Also not available to charge at reception.

There is not a high enough rating in my opinion for this hostel. Every single thing about it so exceeded my expectations for a hostel. I recommend this hostel without reservation to anyone!

It's a relatively cheap price for the location, it's clean and the staff friendly but there are no curtains so if you get a top bunk and the light of the room is on you can't cover from it hitting you in the face

Las almohadas son muy gruesas y duras, las toallas huelen mal, el personal muy bien y amable menos una chica que parece que estaba ligando con su compañero mientras nos atendía.

Non è proprio un vero ostello, è incentrato solo sui clienti del coffee shop. La camerata era decisamente troppo piccola, buia e poco funzionale. Anche il bagno in camera abbastanza pessimo. Problemi anche al bar (prezzi alti e poca scelta) e alla reception.

Honestly I enjoyed my stay here. Location was perfect to go to the palaces I wanted to go. It seemed like the bathroom was cleaned daily. People came and left but the place was always clean. Only issue I had was at night the mail lobby area smelled strong like weed. But the smell in the room wasn’t strong like the lobby area. All in all for my first hostel stay it was a great experience.

Honestly it was truly an amazing experience. Maybe I got lucky with the individuals in my room but I made friends for a lifetime across the world. Staff was amazing, loungebar is solid second hand smoke if you don’t smoke, but honestly the best bar in town. We rried to look for others and nothing compared. Location is 10/10, only thing is quite pricey for a hostel, but worth it ! And thank you to the lovely man with the French bulldog, made my stay an 11/10.

È stato il primo ostello in cui ho alloggiato. Nulla da dire. Magnifico. Sicurezza impeccabile e pulizia eccezionale. Poi il design della struttura è bellissimo

We got a private room facing the canal and heard zero noise from the bar below. Our room was spacious and had an amazing shower. Right in the heart of everythibg it was a great location and great stay! I would highly recommend.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. I didn’t love how small the bathroom in the room was. It was essentially an airport bathroom. I was on the first floor and you could hear the lounge below too well to have a good nights sleep. Even though there is no smoking in the rooms, it smelled like intense cigarette smoke. The rooms seemed to be cleaned every day. The location was good, the staff was friendly, and I overall enjoyed my stay.

Fun place to stay. Super nice considering location and price. There is a faint smell of weed in the rooms but not bad. For the price, not bad but wouldn't spend more than 55 euros.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the hotel, shame there wasn’t tea and coffee making facilities other than that 10/10

One of the cooler hostels you can stay in--almost a must when visiting Amsterdam. Bookings are much cheaper during the week than the weekend, so even staying here for part of a trip would be good. Location couldn't be better, and of course, having the lounges/bars/coffee shops right downstairs, is fantastic. Place was very clean and the staff were good. Only detraction, is the size of the washrooms. Very small and cramped, especially for dorms of that size. Will be back someday
