Tequila Sunrise Podstel Brisbane

I love staying in tequila’s hostels but this one is bad. You have only 3 showers per floors but like 30 people’s so you’re always waiting and it’s dirty

Tequila Podtel has gone downhill since Esteban left. The place is constantly noisy, overcrowded, and poorly managed. Guests shout, drink in common areas every night, and no rules are enforced. The kitchen is too small, queues for meals are endless, and the food is greasy. Dorms feel like a hot, cramped warehouse. Overall, it’s overpriced, chaotic, and not worth the stay.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Tequila Sunrise Brisbane (July 18–19, 2025). The day before our arrival, we tried to contact the hostel by phone and email to inform them we would be arriving one day late and to ask whether our booking could be adjusted. We received no response. At check-in, the receptionist remembered our call but offered no solution, simply telling us to "check if the beds were made" — despite our reservation having officially started the previous day. Thought I'd give this concept a try. Pros: -Good privacy in the pods -Breakfast and diner are good -Pretty clean. Cons: -All the smells and noise you'd expect in a dorm of 100 people -Common area is small and crowded -Bathroom in the dorm (if you're lucky enough to get a pod close to the bathroom you'll get to hear people yapping and hair/hand dryers all night). Wouldn't recommend for more than one night...

Wouldnt recommend if you are a solo traveller, very unfriendly cliental, staff were good, the drawers were being pulled by the lady cleaning the room itself, we came back to find locks almost broken, didnt trust our luggage was safe during day trips. The breakfast and dinner situation can only be described as a hoard. For the price you pay, you can always find somewhere better.

Staff was nice and the location is fine, but I found it really crowded and couldn’t really find a place to just chill because the general spaces were too small compared to the amount of people that stayed there. The pods were also really hot which made sleeping uncomfortable. Free food was good tho!

The beds and location are great. Breakfast and dinner included is superb. The atmosphere is catastrophic, and I have never experienced such unfriendly and even insulting staff.

Nice and clean, could have more of a social aspect

Un bon hostel pour transition vers un autre endroit. J'ai fait une nuit et c'était ok, mais je n'aurais pas pris plus. Un énorme dortoir vient avec ses enjeux, par contre le prix est raisonnable.

The location was fine and the personal nice. Unfo not really a social hostel. With a small laundry and washing mashines not working. If you want to safe money i can recommend it though.

really enjoyed my stay here. the place is super clean and the pods are actually really comfortable. free breakfast and dinner helped me save a lot of money, which was perfect while looking for a job. the staff are friendly and the vibe is social, so its easy to meet people. definitely a good spot if youre on a working holiday in brisbane thank you Seba

The location is perfect, with easy access to public transport and local spots. Everything was organized and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again next time.

I really liked the this hostel! Great breakfast and okay dinner, nothing to complaint about. The rooms and bedrooms were clean, and I was surprised how silent the rooms were, when so many people stayed in the same room. It vas a very social atmosphere in the common room, and I really enjoyed eating together with everyone else. A lot of people stay there for longer periods of time to find jobs on working holiday visa, but I would still say it is perfect for solotravelling!

The best hostel I've ever stayed at. The pod is so spacious, clean and comfortable. The washrooms are very clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Would definitely book this hostel when I revisit Brisbane.

facilities are decent and fairly clean, and the pod-style setup gives a bit more privacy than a typical hostel, which I appreciated. This hostel feels very cramped up in comparison to eg the Surfers paradise location , like not enough space in the kitchen and definitely not enough common spaces , besides that all perfect , clean , comfortable beds, the bathrooms are perfect , dinner and breakfast 10/10

Great staff, great location, clean

I stayed 3 nights. I would have enjoyed better fans in the pods or the AC to keep the room cooler. I was surprised that the showers& toilets were clean and very functional. I would have appreciated vegan meal options. Vegetarian was available but nothing vegan. The location was great! only a quick walk to Central train station,Cultural to Center bus station &South Bank. I will definitely stay again if I go back to Brisbane. I don't think you can beat the price for what you get(
