Amakaya Backpackers Travellers Accommodation

The place is clean and very well maintained. The host Debbie is super kind and helpful, giving all the possible tips about things to do in the area and how to get there. The hostel was almost empty when I was there, so I can’t speak about the atmosphere. As a detail: it’s a non smoking hostel :)

Nice hostel for simple stay

it is a great hostel, only it was really quite when we where there. the manager knows a lot and share a lot with you.

The hostel facilities overall were good, only the manager Debbie was,a little bit too stuck up on her rules. When my roommate and I got stuck with our car at night somewhere because of a flat tire and had to text her that we're gonna be late, the only thing she cared about texting us was that we didn't read the whole rulebook and forgot one of her rules. She found out that we went against the rules because she went into our room when we weren't there. We felt a bit cramped.

An excellent hostel l, and amazing host Debbie, who goes out of her way to help guests.

When i arrived with BazBus about 11:00, no one was there to open the gate, and no one on the phone to provide any entrance code. (no loadshedding at time) So I could not stay there (besides having payd the deposit! ), as the safety situation is not good enough to wait a few hours in front of the door without knowing if a stay will be possible at all. If the hostel is not open when BazBus arrives, a booking should not be possible or the hostel should not work together with Bazbus any...

Loved my stay in plet, only there for one night but Debbie made me feel very at home. She booked my seal swim and gave me a ride back from Robberg. If you appreciate personal hospitality come to Amakaya

Pretty basic hostel but provided a good location for a night in Plettenberg.
