Belize Maya Cabaña

We did not get the room that we booked. My partner and I booked a bunkbed room, but instead we were given a downstairs room that was very small, felt unsecure and we didn't have access to the kitchen. We booked this property to meet other people, while also being able to use the hostel living area and kitchen. But instead got a downstairs bedroom where the only door led outside, the door itself was quite suspicious to say the least. Would not recommend.

Niemand da zum Check in und niemand erreichbar. Kartenzahlung ging erst auf mehrfacher Nachfrage und erst als klar war dass wir nicht anderes bezahlen können. Zimmer ist dunkel, klein und nicht besonders sauber. Gegend eher schwierig. Einziger Vorteil, sehr nah am Hafen

Hosts were friendly. Room was basic but has what you need for 1 night. Good location by ferry. Key issue was poor security - the room was on ground floor with door straight onto the street. Door lock barely locked properly (wouldn't move fully across into door frame) and there were big gaps at both the top and bottom of the door straight to the outside. We fortunately had no security issues in practice but this really needs to be fixed for future guests.

This is a no-frills spot with amenities exactly as advertised- shared common room with a shared bathroom. Walking distance to a lot of restaurant options + the water taxi terminal. Did not feel unsafe at all and they were very responsive when we showed up past office hours. It is a nice place to sleep, but i wouldnt say its much of a hang out like some other hostels

Location-wise, it’s super close to the ferry terminal, which makes catching early ferries really easy. The staff checked me in smoothly, and the room itself was clean. The rooms have AC, but the main common area doesn’t, so it was hot for me. The kitchen has free filtered water, which is a nice perk. Shared rooms are on the top floor, while the private ones are downstairs. I wouldn’t recommend walking around the area at night. Also, some outside noise can be heard when sleeping at night. O...

Great place to stay, the staff was awesome and helped us out after we booked really last minute. Got heckled by some kids in the area and didn’t really want to be out after dark. Recommend setting up a taxi with a certified driver or through the hostel.
