Gingerhill Farm

Terrible Experience! I am a traveler used to camping and nature based accomodations. I don't expect luxury but just cleanliness and honesty. Quite pricey for a hostel. At the check-in they will charge additional $80 cleaning fee! Even if the room was filthy:Bed was dirty, with bird droppings and gecko feces.The shower had only cold water.The bathroom was out of order, and everything felt poorly maintained. When I raised these concerns, the staff was dismissive, no sense of hospitality and care.

I’m not sure what the deal is with their listing on hostelworld, but what I agreed to paid and what Gingerhill actually charged me was more than double, and the terms of payment was completely different from the receipt I received from hostelworld. ESPECIALLY to note, there is listed under “house rules” that there is a $75 cleaning fee due upon arrival. This is mentioned nowhere on the booking itself and the hotel will deduct this before you even arrive. Pillow and mattress was uncomforta...

Id just ask the property to leave it clear on the booking process or add in the bed price that ruge cleaning fee of 20 dollars. I have stayed in lots of hostels around the worls, but this was the only one to charge a cleaning fee this way, for a bed in a dorm.

Outstanding location and Cedar and Victoria are wonderful hosts! Clean/unique cabin/ with private/ semi-outside shower, and fresh fruits. If you book this place- you will not regret it!

Ginger Hill is a beautiful property that gets the best sunsets. The accommodations are simple yet thoughtful and aesthetically lovely. The Jungle Cabin is very comfortable clean and cozy. I am especially obsessed with the heated outdoor showers. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Incredible hidden gem! Really loved our stay in Bamboo Cabin. Beautiful nature, delicious fruits, and adorable animals.
