Drifters@One Mile

There was a smell of mold in the dorm that was hard to get rid of. We had a fan running 24/7 pointing out of the room and it helpt a little. Also quite hot in the night due to the lack of AC

Security was almost zero. One flimsy lock box for the entire bunk room. Random locals were allowed to take empty bunks late at night. Anyone can get inside the building. Music was incredibly loud some nights. Mostly clean inside except the fridge was gross. Outside had broken glass and trash everywhere (as is the way with everywhere in Jamaica). No good chill spot. No towels. If they had laundry I don't know where it was. No hand laundry or clothes line. Beer went missing from the fridge.

Everything was great until it was not. I was about to give a five star rating but last night there was some random person who stepped into our doem at mid night, grouped a Canadian woman, went through her belongings. The place felt very unsafe, the security to the hostel and surveillance could be much stricter consdiering the place is right on the beach.

Close to the most amazing beach I've ever seen so far!

Could use an a/c in the room to keep out mosquitoes and the hot air. Besides that really nice people and directly on the beach. It’s located directly on negril beach, that usually costs 100$ already.

Location is amazing, right on the beach and 3 mini-marts close by. However, wifi was spotty, no chill out/social space other than the bar but they blast music the whole day. I dont know if its cause it was empty while i was there but the whole place had a weird vibe too. Some lights inside didnt work and had only 1 light for 3 toilets meant it all felt dark and dingy. Room/showers were clean and kitchen had what you need but only 1 locker for a 4 bed dorm. Didnt feel unsafe but wouldnt go back.

We stayed on a triple room with a private bathroom for a couple of nights. Location is great, right on the 7 mile beach however the hostel is poorly looked after. Kitchen is run down, a bit dirty and does not have essential ingredients like salt or oil (so you will have to buy it all). The atmosphere is ok if you like to smoke all the time. Unlike what the hostel add is saying the hostel is 4 km from the Knutsford Express station and you will need to take another taxi to get to the hostel.

Great location and staff but a bit disappointed in the facilities. The wifi hardly ever worked, there is no chill area or common area except outside at the restaurant, where they are often playing really loud music. There was nowhere suitable to do online work so keep that in mind if you are an online worker. The kitchen was quite useful though.

Booking a hostel for the first time in many years, I must say I was anxious. I chose a private room with private bathroom, and was I impressed with what I received. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were fantastic and the location on the beach was second to none. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good rate and a great time. I will return!

I chose drifters because of the location, on 7 mile beach. I was able to go for a morning swim and go up and down easily. I had a room to myself for a very good price. There weren't many people staying at the hostel so I didn't meet many people, which surprised me. People who worked there were very helpful and knowledgeable.

it was value for money. there was very little water in the indoor shower so it was a trickle however it's a good location, good facilities generally. would recommend for a hostel
