Bathrooms are always dirty and messy, with little space. The hostel ran out of clean towels and there was no provision for replacement. There was even an incident where food was stolen from the communal fridge. The lockers are small. In general very expensive for what they offer.

Very dirty and noisy

Ich habe zwei Nächte eher ausgecheckt, da die Badezimmer extrem dreckig waren und die anderen Gäste sehr respektlos waren. Erstattet wurde mir nichts, ich bekam lediglich eine Entschuldigung.

Much too pricy for what you get. I was in the female dorm which smells bad. The curtains should be washed some time. Showers/toilets were always dirty and flooded. Hostel staff doesn't really care and is mostly chilling, not realising that they are the ones supposed to work. Breakfast poor fot the price and not freshly made. (Guacamole from the can) l don't undestand how their rating can be so good, must be the Selina hipe and people not seeing the obvious.

The room was right beside the main road and very noisy if there was a window open. I opted for the 6 bed dorm for extra money and it was disgusting. The beds were extremely noisy however one plus is that the mattresses were fairly comfortable. However the worst thing about this room was the large amount of black mould covering the entire bathroom, spotted on walls and ceilings, all over the shower area, and throughout the sink area. This was dangerous and the smell was awful.

We stayed in the 20 person mixed dorm and the room had very minimal storage and not enough hooks to accommodate everyone. The room was also disgusting, not vacuumed or swept in days if not weeks and the bathrooms were also not clean. People would leave their things lying everywhere making the already small room even smaller and would put their dirty wet towels on our bags. Very small kitchen that was always super crowded and missing cooking utilities. All in all would not recommend!

Our room was directly next to the kitchen and the rooftop. You heard everything and everyone the whole night and we couldn’t sleep. I have been in a lot of Hostels including Selina Hostels. I never saw a room next to the kitchen and eating area. There is just too much noise, therefore it should not be used as a dorm, it’s disrespectful. The sanitary area smells moldy and was dirty. Hors de prix pour quatre nuits au mois d’août dans un dortoir de 4 personnes minuscule qui donne sur la cuisine pour près de 85€ la nuit, c est une aberration !!! Sans compter sur les femmes de ménage qui commence à nettoyer la cuisine à 8h30 alors que vous êtes en train de dormir, de prendre votre petit déjeuner ou encore que vous souhaitez accéder à la salle de bain. An sich schönes Hostel, wird dem Preis pro Nacht aber in gar keinem Fall gerecht. Preis-Leistung leider wirklich nicht gut. Die Mitarbeiter im dazugehörigen Restaurant waren super unfreundlich und auch das restliche Personal war eher semi freundlich und hilfsbereit. Keine getrennten Badezimmer und nur wenige Duschen und Toiletten. ZU wenig für die Menge an Menschen. Das 20er Zimmer war ein komplettes Chaos. Überall lagen Rucksäcke, Koffer und Klamotten. Kaum Verstaumöglichkeiten.

Locatie is top! Kamers prima, wel rommelig want zijn geen opbergplaatsen voor je tas. Sfeer is chill, er is weinig reuring. Douches waren wel koud en zwembad was niet schoon. Het is geen goedkoop hostel dus prijs kwaliteit verhouding kan beter!

Private room was perfect, swimming pool and common area great, location perfect. However the events and the kitchen are no longer available to use so you cannot cook. Transitioning with the new management.

Le personnel est adorable, l'auberge est vraiment sympa, avec de supers espaces extérieurs et une piscine. Mais les chambres partagées sont vraiment trop petites, il n'y a aucun rangement. La salle de bain partagée est vétuste. Concernant la chambre seule, elle est correct, mais le prix est excessif. La salle de bain a de la moisisure, la porte de la douche est cassée, pareil pour le robinet. L'isolation entre les chambres n'est pas bonne. On t'entend ses voisins. Idem pour la route en face...

My experience was 10/10 the vibes are so good

Great common areas are great! But bathroom and dorm was very dirty and in desperate need for renovation. Staff was super nice and location is perfect.

The staff, other hostel guests, locations, amenities, and beds were all amazing. 10/10. The beds are pods, so lots of privacy and it was quite good for blocking out sound. The only down sides are that it’s a little run down in the bathrooms and that they’re quite small. There’s also only small lockers, for purses or a few small items, but not big enough for your whole pack. You do get a cubby to put it in, but it doesn’t lock. Still, a great place to be; would definitely come back.

I is a lovely place super close to the bus station as the beach. The only thing was a dirty kitchen and there was only one hot plate to cook from. Super comfy beds with very nice set up.

After staying here I can say I totally understand now the bad reviews they get. The hostel is very cute and cozy, but then when you get to see the details,it totally needs a renovation. bathrooms look bad, the place is very cramped, no lockers, everybody leaves their stuff on the floor. it's not that social also, but everyone is nice nevertheless. if they would charge half of what they do then it would be ok, but now you pay premium and receive mediocre. staff was nice though and good surf class

Really nice place to stay in almost the center of Ericeira. It's nice because you can walk to the center really easy. Also it's a cool place to meet people but also quite that sometimes you need it. Special mention to Bruno, the reception guy that gave us all the facilities we needed and solved any problem we had, he was for sure the best guide and kind person in Selina! I 100% recommend this place to stay, the only bad thing i see is that the price is too much for a shared room.

I stayed at Selina Ericeira for two nights and honestly, it was fine just to get by. The place really needs renovation: there is a lot of humidity and a constant damp smell. The bathroom is very small and mixed (shared by both girls and boys), the door doesn’t even close properly, and it wasn’t very clean. There are no lockers in the rooms, so you can’t secure your belongings. At night it gets very noisy, and the back door was always left open. But friendly staff

Honestly best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The location and facilities cannot be beaten and the overall vibe was immaculate. There’s such to socialise but also space to keep to yourself if you prefer. The staff are awesome too. I’d recommend this hostel to anyone going to Ericeira.

Amazing hostel in such a fab location! highly recommend!

Very nice hostel in the center of Ericeira. Only down side there is not activities at all in the hostel to meet people. Beds are like capsules so you have privacy.

Location superb. 55€/night for 20bed dorm is too much!! At arrival (around 12pm), we couldn’t enter cause reception was unattended. Also while waiting for checkin time at 3pm, we were not allowed to leave our bags unattended (there is no safe keeping of luggage, not even in the dorms, there are no lockers). So until check-in we had to stay in the hostel waiting. People in the hostel are all nice and respectful. Dorms really need some storage space. Suitcases and clothes spread all over the f...

The vibe of the hostel is great, location is perfect, a grocery store is just down the road as well as the city and a beach. The hostel has a nice rooftop and the common area is very comfortable as well as the rooms. During our stay, there was no hot water for 3 days but on the 4th one they fixed it, there was also a pook bur it wasnt cleaned so nobody really used it. Staff is very kind and helpful!

Very dirty and noisy

I enjoyed my stay at Selina. People are friendly and helpful. Location is amazing. However, there was only cold water for the shower in the 5 days I was here. The pool was not clean and often looked murky. The 4 bed female dorm is smaller in person. My luggage storage also did not work (the cupboards would get stuck and I could not open them). I opted to switch to a private. I had a better experience there.

Great experience staying here, the location, rooftop and pool definitely made it. The staff were great. Cooking facilities were minimal, no kettle or spoons. Other than this was great and would stay again.
