It was by far the most expensive hostel I've been staying at, I've never paid more than 10-17 euro. It was 35 euro, which is far too expensive. I found it very strange that there wasn't any less expensive. Also it was quite unpleasant that there were signs of left wing political activism: a flag about welcoming migrants and stickers about being against a right wing party.

I was unimpressed with SchickSAAL. The staff were not helpful. When I made my reservations through Hostelworld I included breakfast, which is apparently not available….including the promised muesli breakfast (per website), which was also not available. Also, no where on their website do they state there is no elevator available. Had I known that I never would have stayed there considering I had to climb up very long, narrow, and steep stairs to the 2nd floor & I’m going through chemo.

Very very noisy at night during some days of the week. No lockers. Reserved a bed in a 4-bed room but got assigned a 5-beds room instead. Not so worth the price. However, very good location (close to city center and central station).

Die Treppe zum oberen Bett ist für Füße leider nicht geeignet. Leider gibt es auch nicht bei jedem Fenster Gardinen. Personal war nett, jedoch da es Karaoke gab, mussten wir woanders hin um den Check in zu machen. 3 Duschen für knapp 50 Menschen halte ich ein wenig ungewöhnlich. Ich würde eher nicht nochmals dort nächtigen.

This place is in a bad neighborhood and is run by people who look like they are about thirteen years old. When I got there, no one would answer the door, and no one would answer the telephone number that was on the door. Another guy showed up and was equally perplexed. I found the signage annoyingly hip while being unhelpful. This place definitely has a youth vibe so I don't recommend it for anyone over sixteen.

Nicht sehr empfehlenswert, nicht einmal für eine Nacht. Wir waren in einem gemischten Schlafsaal und ein anderer Gast hat sich um 4 Uhr morgens im Zimmer übergeben und ist anschliessend ohne seine Zimmerkarte raus auf die Toilette. Als er wieder zurück ins Zimmer wollte schliefen wir schon und er hat 2 Stunden lang an die Zimmertüre geklopft und die Türe fast abgerissen. Passt auf !

Good location, clean but no locker and expensive for the value

Cooles sympathisches Hostel in super Lage mit kleiner gemütlicher Küche und eigenem Café & Kneipe. Alles sehr liebevoll gestaltet und Badezimmer geschlechtsneutral. Liegt in einer Nebengasse umgeben von Partylocations, abends ist also sehr viel los.

In diesem Laden ist vieles improvisiert. . Von den Kloschlössern bis hin zu den Handtüchern. Letztere sind – anstatt an der einer Schlaufe festgemacht- offensichtlich mit einzSchere durchbohrt worden, damit sie aufgehängt werden können.

Wirklich tolles, persönliches Hostel mit Charakter. Ich hab sehr gut und bequem geschlafen und mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank!

Abschließbare Schränke für Wertgegenstände auf den Zimmern wären noch gut. Sonst alles super!

Super schönes Hostel in zentraler Lage. Der Raum sowie die Sanitäranlagen waren in gutem Zustand und sehr sauber. Die Küche umfasste alles Nötige - ein netter Bonus war ausserdem das kostenlose Müsli zum Frühstück.

Nice place close to the centre and cca 10 minutes walk from station. I really liked the design of the rooms.

Das coolste Hostel! Sehr vintage mit besonderer Stimmung.

Great location, good beds, and clean bathrooms. There is a cafe that turns into a bar on the bottom floor and cute bars on the street. It gets a little loud at night but earplugs are provided.

I had an excellent stay here. The room and the facilities were as described and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. On weekend, it might be a bit noisy with the pubs downstairs, but when you close the windows it is not much of an issue, especially if you use earplugs. Loved my stay here.

There is plenty of space, you don't feel cramped. The decoration is very nice. It was disappointing that towels not were provided. There is no laundry service.

Stayed on a Wednesday night in early September, in mixed 6 bedroom dorm. Window closed? Too hot to sleep. Window open? Bar outside too loud well into the morning. Mixed dorms had sensitive rocking bunk beds, and key card stopped working for another person staying in the middle of the night.

Great atmosphere and ethics. Amazing decor, really friendly and excellent little kitchen. We expected noise from the street outside but the rooms were really well sound insulated so we slept fine. Showers are awesome and there’s even a simple breakfast provided. My room didn’t have any lockers for bags just small ones for valuables. Lubeck is so charming I'm glad we had 2 nights in this hostel it was so worthwhile.

Une auberge pleine de charme, propre comme un sou neuf et décalée juste ce qu’il faut — on a eu un vrai coup de cœur ! Quant à la ruelle, un petit frisson pour les plus téméraires… mais promis, au bout, c’est la pépite ! On reviendra c'est sûr

The hostel has a nice, homely design and the staff is helpful (despite one issue with the luggage storage). I thought that mainly families and older people stayed here and did not really get the meet anyone for the night that I stayed. Also be aware that the hostel is situated at the beginning of a somewhat sketchy alley and that at night it can get quite noisy.

A quirky, but awesome place. Well run and clean, and it has true beauty. Don't expect a classic hostel layout, this one needs to be experienced. Great bar downstairs too. A fantastic place!

So lovely! Clean and comfortable. Great kitchen and free breakfast cereal. Staff were great. Recharging and peaceful stay.

The staff was very helpful and I liked the quirky atmosphere. However, the dozen or so group of preteens were slamming doors and chasing each other around until late in the night. Guests that young should not be allowed or should be supervised more closely.

Nothing else to say but perfect.
