Tias Hostel

Tia’s was in a good location and the private room was spacious and clean with a lovely balcony. There is not a free breakfast despite it being advertised. When asked the staff just claimed things aren’t always accurate online? They also charge their own “app fee”, so beware, the price it will tell you on the app is lower than what they will charge by a few € per night. Bag storage is the most expensive we found in the area, at €4 per night.

Nice, new hostel with clean rooms, indoor and outdoor common areas, and free breakfast. The owners are really involved and you can tell they really care. Went on a couple excursions led by the volunteers (shoutout Michal!). Definitely recommend the cliff jumping trip. They also organized my Valbona to Theth hike which ran super smoothly. Would stay again!

AC is turned off during the day in all rooms and the common room.

It’s a big hostel but quite home-feeling with the garden for dinners and hanging out. The location is convenient and their 3-day mountain trip is amazing, would recommend!

A really central and clean place to stay last minute in Shkoder. We had a private room and were assisted by the staff to move into our room on the 3rd floor. They were also very generous and understanding with their help booking a transfer to Himare the next day considering one of our friends was sick. Only negatives were that the shower was cold and breakfast was pretty small compared to meals I’ve had included in other hostels.

Overall it was good. Very spacious and good common areas. The staff, however, were new and not super knowledgeable about the area. The ‘free breakfast’ is only 2 small biscuits, jam, and a small piece of watermelon or fig and a very small piece of French toast. I would not even call it a snack. If you are counting on the free breakfast I wouldn’t book this place.

Staff didn’t show us where anything was on check in, took 4 members to find out the code to get in the building after 10pm. We did the Theth to Valbona hike with them too but again, zero information about where to go, how to get to the guesthouse etc

Good hostel overall. It's quite large and therefore has a lot of people staying at once, which can make things busy in the kitchen and lounging areas. It also means there's several washrooms though, which was great! The atmosphere was quite social, with Foosball tables and board games, however this also made it loud at times. If youre in a dorm, AC is turned on at 9p.m. The old town was within walking distance! For the theth-valbona hike, you can book everything or just transport through them.

There is no free brekky, despite what the listing claims. That was annoying but besides that this is a good hostel. They organise the Hike for you, no guide but typically a few are doing it, well well worth. Atmosphere is hit and miss they do seem to be trying to put on more social events but just kinda dead a lot of the time and they turn off the aircon a bit earlier than you'd like so gotta get outta the room early.

Booking with Tias was absolutely amazing!! The staff and owners were the kindest people and so helpful! We booked the valbona to theth hike with the ferry with them as well and it was perfect! The guests houses they booked for us were so safe and clean! Food was great!! Will absolutely be coming back:)))

Highly recommend staying here!! Food is a 10/10, super clean and loads of space. If you’re looking for a warm welcome and nice rest before some hiking this is the place!

Such a lovely place to stay in Shkodër ! The hostel is spacious and pleasant, very well maintained and clean. You really feel at home there, especially thanks to a fantastic team: the volunteers are all lovely, and words fail me to express my gratitude to Mikel, whose kindness and hospitality are matched only by the excellent advice he gives about the region and its surroundings. Thank you again for everything; I was delighted to be the first guest of the season and will gladly return to Tias H...

The people made this experience! The staff are super friendly and create a warm laid back atmosphere. Serving group dinners every night in the outdoor court yard really helps you mingle with other guests all of whom were wonderful. We went on the 3 day trip which included the Valbone to Theth hike including the Shala River and it was AMAZING. Cannot recommend it enough. Everything was arranged for you, transfers, accommodation but it is self-guided. Perfect balance.

This hostel is great. The owners are amazing and clearly put so much attention and care into the hostel to ensure that ever guests feels welcomed! The breakfast is a nice way to start the day but the dinner is really what made the hostel for me. It was always a homemade traditional meal and it was an excellent opportunity to meet other people at the hostel.

Tias is the honestly the best hostel we have stayed in in a while. The staff are so lovely and are so accommodating! Would deffo recommend the hike from Valdona to Theth - thanks Tias, you guys are so great and we will back :)

Class hostel, would highly recommend. They book the whole Valbone-Teth hike for you and make it very memorable.

I had the best experience at Tia’s. The owners are very generous and helpful. They cook a delicious breakfast and dinner for everyone daily. Everything was very clean. The facilities were great. I highly recommend doing the Valbonë-Theth hike. Tia’s will handle all the logistics including transportation, accommodation, and meals. The value of the hostel is excellent. My stay would not have been the same if not for the volunteers. Callum, Michelle, Case, and Gordon were the best.

Had the greatest time at Tias Hostel, the volunteers are such great people! They will help you the best they can with anything. Did the hike Valbonë-Theth organised by Tias Hostel and it was the most magical experience I ever had. Loved every minute of it! Will definitely be making my way back over here. Lots of love, Rico

I absolutely loved my stay at Tia's Hostel! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the dinner every evening is a great way to meet and connect with people. All the volunteers are incredible - so friendly and helpful - and the owners are just as amazing. Highly recommend!

Stayed at Tias hostel before and after the hike from Valbone to Theth. Was a super nice vibe, everyone was so friendly and it was really social which was nice. Gordon also helped us check in and out and was very helpful.
