Beginnen met de positieve punten. De locatie is geel gunstig, vlakbij het strand, de pier etc in een toch redelijk rustige buurt. De douches zijn proper en er is gratis thee en koffie! De mindere punten, de kamers zijn echt basic en niet heel comfortabel. De airconditioning maakt veel lawaai en er is constant een heel muffe geur. De algemene vibe in het hostel is niet geweldig vind ik. Veel mensen gebruiken het als goedkoop hotel. Er zijn veel ouderen en mensen die je niet in hostels verw...
Really nice hostel in a lovely location. Beautiful private courtyard and great free stand up comedy event. The bed was a bit too soft for me and creaked whenever you moved but overall really nice place.
This was my first hostel experience and I’m glad it was! The hostel felt secure and clean, and the courtyard was a nice place to start the morning. It’s close to everything in Santa Monica. Definitely a wide range of ages which makes it a bit tamer. Would stay again.

Super convenient hostel in the midst on Santa Monica. Check in and check out was extremely smooth and facilities were adequate. Enjoyed my brief stay here. Would recommend to others.
The staff is friendly and the cleaning ladies keep the place as clean as possible. Obviously, if you share your room with others, it won't be the most comfortable experience, but the guests are also nice and civilised. Good experience overall.
Second stay in this hostel and I would definitely recommend. 5min walk to Santa Monica pier. Hotel is clean well maintained Hanna from France
I enjoyed my time staying here. This hostel was in the middle of everything Santa Monica has to offer for such an affordable rate. People are nice and the place itself was pleasant. I will come back if I ever do another trip to Santa Monica again:)

I stayed here for about three nights, and overall, this is a good hostel. The biggest positive by far was the cleanliness. This was probably the cleanest hostel I have stayed in. The rooms and showers were very clean, and there was renovation work going on during my stay, which was actually nice to see. It shows that ownership is putting money back into the property and trying to keep the place updated. The location will probably be a plus for some people because the hostel is in Santa Monica ...
Decent. But it felt more like a cheap hotel than a hostel. Very big and anonymous and only a few activities to which nobody showed up. Not exactly what I expect from a HOSTEL, but if you do not need to socialize it might be perfect for you!
I never leave reviews but I can't believe how awesome this hostel is! This might be the best hostel in the nation. Extremely clean and tidy, impressive kitchen, extremely good location and many social activities! I'll definitely be back!!
Pros: Huge kitchen, great bathrooms with driers, and laundry. Amazing vibe and activities—loved the welcome party! Great sharing/donation policy, plenty of towels, affordable vending machines, and free beach gear. 10/10 facilities! Cons: No bed curtains, so hall lights wake you up. Also, the metal beds have a "zigzag" base that squeaks loudly with any tiny movement. It would have been a 20/20 if the beds were better, but it's still a fantastic stay!
The first Hostel I stayed at a week before downtown was so awful in every way It confirmed my suspicions~as a person who never stayed in a hostel~that hostels suck! Not the case here at HI Santa Monica and I am newly converted. Great atmosphere, brilliant remodeled kitchen, super clean and organized, bathrooms (4th floor at least) that have showers you’re not afraid to catch some unwanted affliction in. Only downside is you can only stay in this particular facility 14 days a year.

I had the best time! It is very clean, the staff is so embracing, the location perfect for quick access to the beach and the perfect LA feeling. Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in.
