Very bad, and nasty kitchen. Would not stay here at all. Rooms are small and dirty. It’s next to a loud bar so you won’t sleep till late.

Would not stay here again. Absolutely disgusting. They took a motel and threw 3 bunk beds in each one, shared bathroom barely big enough to turn around in. Bar in the shared parking lot loud as until 2am. Your room will smell like cigarettes and beer. I would not stay here again and if your set on visiting the harbor go for a motel.

The woman at the reception was extremely unfriendly and the reception was almost never staffed – not even at the scheduled checkout time at 10:00. We always had to go to the restaurant if we needed anything. The room was extremely hot with no AC. The fridge smelled absolutely terrible whenever we opened it, and we had to air out the room for about an hour each time. Overall, this was our worst accommodation in more than three months of traveling. Would definitely not recommend.

Absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here, the overall standard of cleanliness was very poor, the kitchen was constantly covered in food and dishes everywhere, we couldn’t bring ourselves to cook in there. The dining area looks nothing like the pictures and is covered in empty drink cans and cigarette butts. The beds were clean enough but the en-suite bathroom in our dorm wasn’t clean. We stayed in a female 6-bed dorm and there was no sanitary bin, nor was there one in the one communal to...

Arrived and immediately booked a bus out of there that night. Didn’t even sleep there I was so disgusted, filthy and dead flies all over my bed. Tentants have been living there for months so feels like you are intruding on someone’s home. I got a full refund though. That was good.

Der Raum war viel zu klein für ein 6-Bettzimmer. Dazu kommt das nur ein kleiner Ventilator im Raum ist, der nichts bringt. Es ist immer heiß und muffig im Raum. Alles ist einfach dreckig. Besonders aber die Küche. An kochen ist nicht zu denken. Nachts ist es laut, weil die Bar direkt neben an ist und man die Fenster auf haben muss weil es einfach so heiß ist. Gegen 6 Uhr morgens kommt dann noch die Müllabfuhr die unfassbar laut ist. Alles in allem nicht empfehlenswert.

Didn’t liked it there! The room was so small and hot. The kitchen was dirty, there were people smoking next to me while I was eating. Staff was okay.

it's an absolute atrocity that Hostel world allow this dive to be listed as a hostel. This is a motel with alot of lifers. Staff are not proactive in keeping this in check, rooms are small and covered with long term Tennant's items. I could not lower my standards to stay the night, returned the keys immediately. Simply do not waste your time booking here, it is filthy and the atmosphere is alarmingly hostile.

Horrible ! The worst hostel of Australia

Worst hostel I have been to. Dirty, people live there and have taken over the dorms, nowhere to put anything, shower area was covered in people’s underwear. Would not recommend, the man on reception was nice and the location at the beach is the only positives to come from that stay.

Hated staying here

I stayed here for a few days, this hostel gives of more of a motel vibe. It’s right in front of the beach so location wise is great, however the social areas (kitchen, laundry room) were not very clean. A piece of advise if your travelling on late busses which arrive in Coffs after 1am you will not be able to check in everything will be shut! The manger frank if very helpful and supportive of any difficult situations.

More a motel vibe which is fine but that’s why I couldn’t rate it high for the social aspect. A lot of people are staying there long term & working. The bar is fun though and has trivia nights etc (although expect really loud music until 2am on the weekends). The staff are great and even gave us a lift to the train station. The cleanliness of the hostel though could definitely be improved - the pots & rags in the kitchen smelled and the cleaners never cleaned the floors or bathroom in the do...

Great motel style, the bar was fun and the food was good. Not a social backpacker hostel if thats what you're looking for as a solo traveller BUT the location is so good and there are so many events in the Hoey Moey to go to.

The pictures was nothing like to property, nothing was cleaned.

Far away from the station but most hostels are for here. Uber is $15 or an hours walk. Staff were super friendly though and dropped me off at the bus station when I left so can recommend. Next to a nice pub as well but do your shopping first before going there as it is a fair distance. Again not many other options, just be aware

Hoey moey backpackers was an interesting vibe!!!! It reminds me more of a motel but sharing the facilities. The kitchen was awfully disgusting and the rooms weren’t cleaned apart from the beds being changed. The rooms themselves were a good size but had no lockers. A lot of the people staying here were long term due to working there too which meant that wasn’t much socialising. The location of the hostel was about a 30min walk from the town and 1min from the beach. The music also plays until...

Rooms unfortunately don’t have AC, no lockers and not enough outlets for the guests. Kitchen was quite dirty but there was a nice outdoor area and staff was super accommodating, driving us to the greyhound station when we were leaving.

It's very good Hostel

More like a motel than a hostel but it was a good location by the beach. One note is if you need to go to the greyhound bus stop there aren’t many ubers or taxis.

Nice hostel with great people (mostly foreigners on work and holiday visa) The beds lack some power outlet but I had a fridge in my room, wich is great. The kitchen is big enough and well equipped. I had a great time there.

The hostel was fine for a couple of nights, but I wouldn’t stay any longer, the city doesn’t really have much to offer.

De kamers zijn heel klein voor de aantal mensen. Gezamenlijke keuken is een grote rommel en vies. Het hostel ligt in een uithoek van het dorp en is slecht te bereiken. Het restaurant heeft elke avond enorm harde muziek dat door dreunt in de kamers.

Rooms were clean but kitchen wasn’t nice. Ideal for just one night

Was fantastic, staff so helpful, and kind, really lively atmosphere and great facilities not far from the beach and shops! Would stay again!
