May Rooms Taipei Main Station Hostel

No curtains. Bad showers and price was fairly high aswel

The hostel, rooms and common area are ok but quite basic. Breakfast is similarly quite simple, though there are two cafes conveniently located nearby. Main drawcard is easy access to the airport express train; as hostel is close to the entrance to Taipei Main station where airport train is located – main station is huge so for local travel you are more likely to use Beimen station. The location, the price and the friendly owner/ manager are truly the only positive. The pictures were probably taken when this hostel first opened. The amenities are old, my curtain had literal mold on it, the “bathroom” is just a corridor you walk through to get to the dorms, the toilets have plastic containers with coffee powder on the ground to get rid of the smell and you can hear everything in the next dorm. I was surprised by the high rating because I definitely won’t be coming back...

Everything’s was nice except the bathroom in the privat room. The hole bathroom is flooded when you shower, the toilet seat wasn’t fitting on the toilet (we preferred to use the shared facilities because of this) and because of the water sitting in the room some mold already started to grow around the bathroom furniture.

Wasn’t as clean as I wished it to be, the bathrooms smelled bad and it was quite dusty under my mattress. Was also not very social but I guess that’s common. Staff was nice and very helpful, let me leave my luggage for longer and take a shower even after I checked out. Not the best value for your money but definitely gets the job done.

The location was great and the atmosphere was great. The only thing I didn't like was that the beds were hard to climb up into.

Solid hostel, near Main Station and tons of bus lines so ideal for exploring the city. Bed was comfy, curtains are always appreciated. Showers were always hot and good pressure. Common area not super comfy for chilling in so not conducive to meeting folks. Breakfast included but not worth your time, especially in a city with food like Taipei. It’s not a hostel you rave about for years or anything, but it def gets the job done.

Not the most social hostel, but apart from that, I liked my stay there! They even have drip coffee for breakfast :)

Perfect stay, don't be intimidated by the shabby outside of the building, its super clean and modern, right next to central and amazing people are there ( + fruits for free)

An amazing hostel to stay in, honestly. Everything runs smoothly, staff are always smiling and so helpful. Rooms are so nice, a the best thing is value for money. Perfect on a budget, you get a lovely and clean hostel but for a great price too. Great showers which is always important. The only thing that wasn’t top notch was the washing clothes facilities so just skip that if you can, but everything else is great. Can’t recommend enough.

Hostel is in a great location, very close to the main train station and airport mrt. Very clean rooms, helpful staff and has a free breakfast included. A useful place to stay in taipei.

I really enjoyed my stay at May Rooms. It was quiet, nicely central and close to public transit, and the beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. If you’re looking for a chill and comfortable place to stay this is a great option.

Great and very cozy hostel with a great location. Easy to access from the airport, very close to train station and the Ximending shopping district. The hostel was very clean and there was free light breakfast in the kitchen every morning. The lockers are a bit small, big backpacks may not fit. Common area is great to meet other travelers. Overall, I definitely recommend.
