Everything in this place does not work and is falling apart. The pool was visibly dirty. The showers don't work. The door doesn't really work unless you jiggle it a ton. The lockers are completely broken so you can lock anything. The hallway was dark and narrow. I felt like it was something out of a scooby doo show.

Das Hostel hat uns bei der Ankunft direkt abgezogen, indem es eine selbst erfundene, zu hohe Exchange Rate angewandt hat und ich somit mehr bezahlen musste als auf Hostelworld. Die Atmosphäre und die Leute im Hostel sind sehr komisch und wir haben uns überhaupt nicht wohlgefühlt. Null social. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr distanziert und teilweise unsympathisch. Das Bett besteht aus einem schlecht zusammen gebastelten Holz und ist extrem unstabil. Die Zimmer sind schmuddelig und stinken.

Nous avons passé une nuit ATROCE. La chambre privée (3 p) ressemblait à une prison, très SALE. Nous demandons à l’accueil un tapis de bain pour éviter de tremper la SDB, le propriétaire arrive avec une serpillière usagée, déchirée et qui sentait le moisi. I don’t recommend this place !! It’s super dirty the room smell weird

Location was rather central the staff were very kind but the room was dirty, the sheets were ripped towels were all stained the room didnt look appealing to stay in i would definitely not recommend this hostel.

One of the worst hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The room had a plastic door that rattled all night because of the fan and couldn’t be locked properly. The room was very poorly ventilated and smelled musty, like unwashed feet, which made us wonder whether the bedding had even been washed. The lockers in the room also couldn’t be locked. We found trash and insects in the sinks. We would not book this place ever again.

I would not return to this place. The reception staff were absent when needed, the facilities were unsanitary, and there was a noticeable lack of security. The only positive aspect was the convenient location.

Our stay was very affected by the amount of cockroaches. We check under the mattress and found small bugs, the volunteer staff was friendly and tried to get us a new room, but we had to go through four rooms with all had bigger or smaller bugs, until they found us a room in the other part of the house. We where only there one night and great full for the sevice of getting moved, but it does reflect on our overall experience. Pool was nice.

Dorm was basically a garage with bunk beds, no air conditioning, hardy any security anyone could have walked in

overall, i think the hostel is okay for one night. but its not social, the staff is not really helpful or friendly. the room smelled a bit like p***. and the showers didn’t really feel clean either. there were no windows in our room and our door wasn’t really a door either, that made us feel quite uncomfortable. i don’t want to be very negative all the time but our personal experience was not very good here. and i am not that critical but this was just not fun.

Near the beach which was really nice. Plus points for the pool. Lots of bathrooms and showers and very nice staff that made everything easy. Normal standard kitchen. Just be careful which eoom you book because not every room has A/C but there’s information about it when you book just don’t forget to read it. Overall agreeable standard for the money☺️

the fan in my room was totally broken which made it so incredibly hot. the hostel itself was kept pretty clean, although half the bathrooms did not have a toilet seat/soap dispenser/etc so only a couple were really useable. location is great! although every weekend the dorms get really loud with guests. not many kitchen accessories but great for the price

L’emplacement est super, très proche de la plage. Cependant, pas d’eau chaude dans les douche, la cuisine est toujours dans un sale état, les installations sont vieilles, les gens sont fêtards. Pas seulement des gens qui voyage, la clientèle laisse à désirer. Par contre, le propriétaire est super gentil et nous a transféré du dortoir à une chambre avec un surplus minime.

The location was great, but there were definitely a few surprises. First, no hot water in the showers. The rooms are VERY hot. Be prepared. We knew there wasn’t AC, but didn’t expect that heat. It’s $20 a day for AC. The pool was nice & it’s a bit social. Only 1 shower was working really well. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for.

Mom and pop shop. Location is great, it’s right in the center of the strip and 2 mins walk to the beach. Not a very social hostel. Everyone keeps to their own. No social activity Rooms are very basic but clean. Private rooms without attached bathrooms are more like small cabins. Rooms with attached bathrooms are cramped but they r proper rooms. Would not recommend for solo female travellers. I booked and paid for a 5 bed dorm, and was placed in an 8 bed with all men, and a very drunk group of men next door. They will accept anyone, in any state of mind and do not enforce quiet hours allowing parties at the pool all night. This hostel has more locals than backpackers and the atmosphere felt unsafe. A group of young men even felt that it was not right. Check in/ out was complicated as no one was at the reception.

Staff was amazing and super kind and welcoming, however dorm room was very very stuffy and dark and no ventilation and kitchen was lacking cooking supplies unfortunately. Private rooms are a bit better. Nice location bc super close to the beach and right in town! Beds were clean and towels were included. However bring ear plugs bc bar across street plays loud music 24/7. Would recommend for 1-2 nights only

This hostel was great, staff was awesome and very helpful, great location close to everything including the beach. Only downside was the cleanliness of the room and the showers were terrible, very cold and little to no water pressure. Overall I stayed for 10 day and I will come back ….. hopefully to better showers

Au cœur de Jacó à quelques mètres de la plage et de la vie. Au petit soin quand il a vu la femme que je suis au lieu d’un dortoir il m’a offert une chambre individuelle. Jen demandais pas autant, surtout que ça fait 4 mois que je vis en communauté. Merci pour ce cadeau

Good overall however though this is not specifically the hostel’s fault but the bar across the road played blaring music till 2am 2 out of 4 nights we were there. So maybe not ideal if you are having an early start at any point. Not sure why the hostel allows the bar to do it?

Hostel De Haan was a perfect stay right next to the beach for those who want to try out surfing! Wilson at the front desk was very very kind and accommodating and answered all of the questions we had. Beginners, be wary of the waves!!
