Casa Samay Cozumel

Pesimo. A la dueña la conoci recien al segundo dia de llegar. Les pedias informacion de playa cercana, no sabian. Les pedias informacion de donde ir a comer tacos, y me mandaron a una taqueria que queda al lado del hostel pero que no venden tacos. Ni eso pudieron hacer bien. Despues la ducha no salia agua casi Es mentira que queda en en centro, queda a 20 minutos caminando por una zona horrible del centro turistico. Decian que alquilaban bicicletas y ninguna funcionaba.

Petite auberge avec 3 chambres et 10 lits au total. Le dortoir de 4 où j’ai dormi pourrait être rafraîchi un peu. Pas de lumière ni de prise électrique individuelle avec le lit superposé. La zone de séjour est assez petite mais suffisante pour partager des moments entre voyageurs et avec les volontaires. Miri propose une sortie baptême de plongée, à faire !

Casa Samay was a pleasant surprise, a nice place to relax after a couple of party hostels the two weeks previous. Miri was helpful with info about Cozumel, or places to eat out. My room was spacious and clean, and there’s a bit of an environmental / spiritual vibe going on.

Sehr nette Besitzer, familiäre Atmosphäre, eher wie ein Besuch bei Familie, teilweise etwas eng und Einrichtung in die Jahre gekommen. Sehr herzliche Menschen.

This is an adorable hostel in a perfect location! Close enough to town but still in a quiet local neighbourhood. Kitchen and outdoor areas were awesome. The staff was really nice but the self-serve hostel setup wasn’t ideal when things weren’t working. Would have been nice to have someone around to help when the key to the front gate, the water in the bathroom, and the wifi weren’t working. Other than that it was a great stay!

Overall I definitely enjoyed my stay there. Loved especially the diving and the team there. However I found it very difficult to meet people there because there arent many solo travellers and while I was there it seemed like all the owner‘s friends were there a lot which felt a bit weird as an outsider. Also the house is quite old and could definitely use a renovation. The floors and showers could also be cleaned better. From what I saw they only mop it which just moves the dirt around.

Had an ok stay but was most disappointed in the night snorkelling. Was advertised as 2 1/2 hours with photos & videos included but it was actually 45 minutes with no photos or videos. For $55 I was quite disappointed :(

the owners of the hostel are amazing! miri and Sabrina are doing so much around the island and everything is done with love.

El hostal es cómodo y hogareño, tiene todo lo necesario, pero siento que hubo varias inconsistencias con la información que me daban para actividades que reservé, falta un poco de comunicación y organización entre las dueñas, ojalá mejoren eso para próximos huéspedes, tuve una amiga a la que no le cumplieron con las actividades que reservo y no le hicieron el reembolso lo cual si me parece mal porque no fue culpa de la huésped (ni de ellas) pero un reembolso siempre es posible

We really enjoyed our stay here! Everyone was very friendly and let us check in early and leave our bags in a locker after we checked out for a couple hours. We stayed in a private room and it was clean and comfortable. It had two fans which made the room pleasant despite not having AC. We would stay here again!

Lovely little hostel in Cozumel. The staff made us feel really welcome - it feels like a little family here. Our private room was clean, spacious - no AC but we had a fan that made sleeping manageable! Decent kitchen, bathrooms, outdoor space. We didn't participate the the activities at the hostel but there did seem to loads of options for diving, snorkelling etc!

A very comfortable, friendly, and welcoming vibe to this hostel. The owners certainly take care to make sure you have all of the information you need. You might want to verify that you're in a room with air conditioning, as not all of them have them, but otherwise, a great bargain and a nice hostel.

We stayed here for a couple of days to go diving and some beachtime and had the best time!!! Casa Samay is an awesome hostel. Even though it is not large there were always people around and everyone was nice and social. It is located behind the major hotel zone, so you can avoid the cruise tourism but its still in perfect walking distance from the ferry port and every store you need. I had a lovely 1 night stay here. Everyone was super friendly and Miri was really helpful. I rented a bike and snorkel equipment and explored the island.

Tuve una muy buena experiencia en Casa Samay. Me hospedé en el cuarto compartido de 4 personas y todo estaba muy bien organizado y limpio. Los baños siempre en muy buen estado. El living es muy cómodo y agradable, y tienen muchas amenidades y electrodomésticos que hacen la estancia más fácil. Sehr schönes Hostel mit familärer Atmosphäre, female dorm war sehr geräumig. Die Besitzerinnen bieten viele Aktivitäten an, kann die Inselrundfahrt mit Miri sehr empfehlen, sie hat uns die schönsten Ecken der Insel gezeigt. Ich hatte einen fantastischen ersten Tauchgang mit ihrer Tauchschule. Insgesamt hatte ich eine wirklich tolle Zeit hier, immer wieder gerne!

If you’re reading these reviews going “hm maybe I should book with Miri too” DO IT!!! Had such a great time and hope to be back in the future for my advanced with Miri. This place is super chill and I could have easily stayed longer.

I really enjoyed my time at Casa Samay and in Cozumel! I even extended twice, because I liled it so much. I stayed both in the mixed dorm and the female dorm,which I both liked. I was there with my big backpack,some dive gear and bought some groceries to cook in the kitchen. I had room for everything, which I loved.I really enjoyed all the people I met from all over the world. thanks for making my time in Cozumel so great! hope to be back!

words cant express how grateful I am for Miri and her comrads at Casa Samay. I took an introductory to scubadiving with Miri adventures and had the time of my life. She is really good at cultivating a great experience for folks who are just starting out. I would recomend this hostel to anyone looking for a chill environment.

I really liked my stay here. Really small and familiar hostel with a very personal and chilled atmosphere and reasonable prices. And the owners have a diving and surfing company so you can do that here pretty easy. 😊

A super nice hostel, one of my favourites! It's very relaxed and chill and quite small so feels nice and cosy. The terrace was nice to relax and the kitchen was good for cooking. Both the dorms and the private room were really nice and peaceful. You can also do dives or snorkels with Miri adventures :)

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at Casa Samay. We stayed in a private room which was very clean and had plenty of space. The staff made us feel very at home, and coordinated some outstanding activities: Miri gave us a private surfing lesson and took us night snorkelling, both of which were very reasonably priced and so simple to book (even same-day). The location of the hostel is fantastic, a safe area, very walkable, and with many good food options nearby. Highly recommend!

Casa Samay was the perfect home for my month in Cozumel! The space is so cozy, and I felt confident, comfortable, and safe my entire time there. The owners and volunteers were incredibly kind and welcoming, and truly made me feel like part of the family. They also host adventures from scuba to surfing and my best adventure experiences were with them! My private room and the shared spaces were well ventilated, comfortable, quiet, and clean. Many thanks to Miri and Sab! I’ll be back!!
