- Very disappointed with the service at this property. I booked 6 rooms for my group, but upon arrival they did not give us the rooms we had booked. Instead, they split us up into rooms with shared bathrooms and even wanted to place us in rooms with strangers. I had been writing to the hotel for a month, and despite the fact that they had confirmed to Booking that our rooms were guaranteed, at check-in we had this unpleasant surprise. It’s a disgrace. Terrible check-in service and very poor assistance as well. Never again.

- They overcharged me (almost 30$NZ). When I talked to reception they promised to do a refund within a few days. Almost six weeks later, several messages sent to the hotel and Booking and no refund so far. A clear no go.
+ Fairly close to the city and a Cafe next door
- Kelly on reception was incredibly rude from the moment we arrived. I spent 500 for nights, the photos were not honest, the bathroom was communal and incredibly dirty, rubbish and hair everywhere. The hotel provided one set of towels for the three days, no wash cloths and no bath mats. Drunks outside our door screaming at night time. No lamps or side tables in the room, blankets were horible. Skirtings were dusty and dirty marks on the walls. 10/10 never again!

+ Close to the cemetery. The road noise could possibly have been quieter. People in room next door really enjoyed their stay and the thin walls with no soundproofing made for exciting listening. The beds squeaked with high pitched scream

- My experience at this hotel was quite unsettling. The night staff acted strangely and asked me random questions about a friend who had stayed with me previously. On the first night, the staff member knocked on my door around 9:50 pm, complaining that the sound from my phone was too loud, despite it being no louder than a TV or a normal conversation. He admitted no one had complained, which made the situation even more perplexing. The second night was unbearable. On the second floor, right next to my room, people were constantly coming in and out, making an excessive amount of noise each time the doors opened and closed. I couldn't sleep from 10 pm until 3 am, and the noise resumed around 4 am, continuing until 7 am when I had to get up and check out. It was sheer madness, and I felt completely drained.

- Sharing nearby shower and toilet. Bar a d restaurant expensive. Next door fitness centre was at a charge. Far too expensive for the room only. Too small a reception area.
+ The place is super close to art galleries, botanical Gardens, etc. The room rates are great, there's tourist information and useful brochures etc, and facilities to use. Overall absolutely wonderful. Room was super clean, so was the bed, clean and comfortable.
- Not really complaining but easy access to new dry mats to take into the bathroom so that you don't get the floor wet as you come out of the shower would be a good improvement.
+ Comfortable bed, polite staff, coffee machine coffee good, laundry available if needed. Botanical gardens, art galleries, and Christchurch cultural sites walking distances away.
- Not the fault of the hotel, but alll bathrooms and toilets are common, was a bit unfortunate to have entered a wet floor at night. Getting drinking water quickly is also a bit difficult especially if you're thirsty and are used to getting up for a cup of water in the middle of the night
