Good People Design Hostel

impolite staff, unclean and badly designed beds.

Should be called Trash People Hostel. Nobody could tell me where the bus station was and they didn't seem interested. One Chinese volunteer was making some rude comments about guests, and none of the staff wanted to turn on the air conditioning.

Overall, good people is a good hostel. The staff are very friendly, the place is nice and clean, and they have an excellent outdoor space. The beds are comfy and have everything you need. The sole reason for the 7.7 is that this hostel was very expensive, it was 30 euros a night for a regular six bed dorm when I was there. Keep in mind that this is Belgrade, Serbia. I just felt that the price was very high for the area and my Serbian friends very much agreed. Other than that, great place.

I would not recommend this hostel. The beds were very old and uncomfortable, I could feel the wood under my hips, and back and woke up in pain. The showers were disgusting. So much mould coating the shower head, how can you feel clean when this is what the water is coming from? The fridges were very unclean, old food and spillages and felt unsanitary. It’s not very social, minimal activities, was not good as a solo backpacker. There are no room keys, only lockers in the rooms.

The property and facilities were okay overall, but it felt overcrowded during my stay, especially in the kitchen during peak meal times. The staff came across as a bit cold and disengaged. In my opinion, there are other hostels with better locations. Not a bad place, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Good place to stay for a few nights. We unfortunately had to move rooms throughout our stay which was inconvenient but the receptionists were nice and helpful about the situation, although it couldn't be changed.

Location is great. I also really like that dorm beds have curtains, so privacy is excellent. Cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms could certainly be improved. Not much room to store luggage if dorms are fully booked. Maybe I was a little unlucky during my stay, but people tended to keep to themselves mostly. But that is of course nothing within the hostels control.

Cozy garden and indoor hangout area. The bathroom on the first flour smelled pretty foul during my stay, and the staff's English was pretty wanting. The security also wasn't great as anyone could just walk into the hostel, and there was no lock on the dorm doors. However, a good hostel for socializing and for getting to most of Belgrade's main sights easily.

One of the volunteers was downright rude. He was slamming the rooms door in the middle of the night when he came to empty the trash bin. So inconsiderate.

Overall very good value. Booked last minute and very fast comms from hostel. Clean cosy F dorm. Quite small dormroom but manageable. Thin walls and could hear guys talking/laughing until midnight. Kitchen could do with proper clean (not all guests clean properly after cooking). Spacious lounge and outside area. Would atay again if in town.

Great place. You must stay there. Has a great sense of community and is in a great location, close to public transport and walking distance of parks, restaurants and attractions. The people working there is kind and always ready to help. They have 24/7 reception so this helps travelers a lot! Beautiful garden too!

nice hostel, good location! but very thin walls

Really nice little hostel. The staff is very friendly, and they have lots of recommendations for things to do around the city. The hostel offered a free family-style dinner one of the nights, it was delicious and was nice to mingle with some of the other guests. There’s a nice big patio area outside. About a 15 minute walk into the city center.

BEWARE! It says payment upon arrival, but if you book at a non refundable rate, they'll threaten to cancel your reservation unless you call them to sort the payment and pay the entire amount within 48 hours by sending them your card details in a pdf via email (extremely unsafe), or a bank transfer to a Serbian bank (expensive if you're not Serbian) That's ridiculous, I wasted a lot of my time while at work to put up with their weird policy. Why are they allowed to do this on hostelworld?

Loved my stay here. Super clean and the property was so adorable and relatively close to city center. Lots of restaurants and bars near the hostel as well. The front garden area is so cute so I was sad that it was too cold to sit outside but I might have to come back in the warmer months just for that. The guy who checked me in at the front desk was super sweet. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Good hostel in nice location and with good facilities. Not really a very social hostel and half the people there were middle aged businessmen or families.

Overall stay was satisfactory. One employee was particularly rude and unhelpful but everyone else was great. Showers were okay but had noticeable mildew and water spillover onto floor despite following shower curtain instructions. WiFi was strong, under bed storage lockers with key were nice, and I always like the privacy curtain. Good walking distance to Kalamegdan and popular area nearby.

My stay was really nice. The backyard is an incredible facility to the hostel, I spent a lot of time in there there. People were nice and welcoming, the facilities were fine - hostel quality but nothing to complain about. I felt safe locking my luggage in the drawers underneath the bed. The beds and dorms were great. Comfortable and private and very clean. Secure. I think my one complaint is that the common room is too small. The garden is fantastic but in the winter it’s too cold to hang out outside. So the big table was often being used by people hanging out or working and sometimes it was difficult to find a place to sit and eat. But it was a very clean place. The people working there are really nice and helpful (Michail especially). The bed is comfy, there are curtains and a towel included. The shower is functional even if a bit with mold. Except the free family dinner (thanks again Alexandra) there are no events organised which I believe is really a pitty. The common room is pretty small, but the kitchen is functional. A small part of the guests are here to socialise, the most part don’t say a word. Not for solo travelers wanting to socialise.

Good people had some good people during my stay. Few people who seemed like long term stayers were always on laptops and occupying the small lounge area. Laptops and remote work people shouldn’t be occupying the common areas in my opinion. I visited end of November! The hostel could have a few more activities to get people involved. Otherwise hostel is clean, facilities are solid and staff fairly friendly! Great place to stay and explore Belgrade on your own!
