We tried to contact the hostel three days in advance to organize the transfer since we don't have a car. We didn't get any answer and ended up staying in a different hostel in Paraty.

Unfortunately, our experience at this hostel was disappointing. The owner didn’t clearly communicate that the only access was via his 4x4 shuttle at specific times. With no Uber available, we had to walk up in the heat. Our room was not as expected, with an exposed toilet and an uncomfortable bed. The atmosphere was smoky and weird, e.g. morning wake up cult kinda music at 8AM. Stay far away from that place. It’s got the most unsettling, creepy vibe you can imagine. Honestly, it feels like some sort of cult operation. Everything about it is filthy. The place is disgusting, and I’m pretty sure we left with more than just bad memories You should NOT go there as a solo female traveler! The whole experience was nightmarish. Genuinely the worst hostel i’ve ever stayed in. First of all this goes by a different name on Google because he has been so slandered. Sebastian is terrible, rude, arrogant and one of the worst hostel owners i’ve ever experienced. Notably after being stuck at the bus station in a blackout storm i was told “your safety is only my priority once you’re in my hostel” - avoid avoid avoid. The location was incredible. remote and peaceful. To go here alone as a female traveller would be scary as you entirely rely on Sebastian to collect you from a small town with no service. It’s important to google Radical Adventure, the name before it was renamed as there are some reviews I wish I saw before. To start good luck even getting to this hostel… we booked it and did not hear anything from them. No public transport goes there … unless you want a STEEP 2 hr walk the owner Sebastian has to pick you up. But good luck getting hold of him. We felt creepy vibes here , left after 1 night booked 3. Don’t go there - especially not as a solo traveling girl. To get to the hostel you need to get picked up by the owner (there is no other way to get there). Even though he confirmed my shuttle 2 days earlier he did not message me on the day of my arrival and did also not pick me up at the agreed point. I had to very spontaneously changed my plans. I recommend everyone, especially girls to not go there!

This place needs to be shut down. You're trapped there, as Sebastian has to take you in and out on his 4wd. The food is not good and very overpriced and you're forced to eat there. Room overpriced, dirty, and I got bed bugs while I was staying there. He was weird with female travellers, touching one of the girls' ass 'accidentally' at the end was the final straw. Finally he tried to 'accidentally' overcharge me at the end. I left a day early, and didn't dispute, even I didn't feel safe.

The place itself is beautiful but the vibe is very strange. As a female solo traveler I felt really uncomfortable because an employee was flirting with me and being very touchy in an inappropriate way. There were not many people staying there. I would have felt unsafe if I was the only person there.

I had an interesting but overall really great experience. At first, I was weirded out by the eccentric-ness and vibes here, but ended up extending my stay longer! The property is gorgeous but SUPER REMOTE. They do try to get you to pay for a lot of things but it's definitely avoidable if you're on a budget. The rooms and bathrooms are super clean and cute. The kitchen is pretty dirty and not fully equipped because they want you to buy their food but honestly all their food is delish so worth it.

Positive: Quite social, beautiful nature, tasty food, not your average hostel experience, "private" waterfall. Negative: Shuttle service was not reliable enough (people being forgotten during our stay), stomach issues since this hostel, little pricey, sales atmosphere (tour & drinks), inside a national park (good for the experience, probably for bad for the nature)

Struttura magnifica, immersa nella giungla ma dignitosamente pulita, dotata di servizio di lava-asciuga, cucina e ogni servizio necessario all'interno dell'hostel. un po' disagevole lo spostamento verso paraty, ma reso piu semplice dai passaggi offerti in jeep dal personale, peraltro molto attento alle necessità degli ospiti. atmosfera molto piacevole per quanto singolare, libertà di movimento e tour organizzati di grande valore. ottima scelta

Perfect hostel for tranquility

Incredible hostel!! The breakfast and dinner were soo good and we had filtered water out of every tap. The view from my room was amazing too. I slept at the top of a bunkbed with 3 beds and it had no rail which was a bit scary. During the day you get offered tours or you ca explore the waterfalls around the hostel. I really recommend!

I loved this place!! It’s soo calm, the food is amazing and the nature is amazing + you always have nice company 🐶🐱.

great place in nature. A bit hard to reach, but worth it! The stuff is kind and organises cool activities and trips.

I arrived sick and they took very good care of me with local natural medicine free of charge and gave me the private room with bathroom discounted. Amazing food, all locally grown and freshly produced. The adventures are not for the faint of heart but worth every real. Can highly recommend for anyone looking for a rural nature adventurous experience. But not to be confused the hostel itsself is very comfortable

Definitely the best hostel I’ve been to. Such a beautiful and unique experience. Food is amazing. The day tours are so much fun. Staff are incredibly friendly. They helped resolve and issue very attentively. I could not recommend this place enough

Eco village/radical adventure, where do I begin, I could live here. From the amazing viewpoint you’re taken to during check in to the beautiful wake-up and breakfast. Big thanks to ignacio for instilling peace and creating a lovely relaxed atmosphere

Lovely hostel surrounded by nature in the hills near paraty!! Best breakfast I’ve had in Brazil, very friendly staff, great place to relax :)

vraiment un des meilleurs hostel que j'ai fait dans mes voyages et le meilleur que j'ai fait au Brésil ! au delà du lieu qui est vraiment magnifique, la nourriture est délicieuse et l'acceuil est incroyable. on a vraiment eu une forte connexion avec cet endroit et je recommande à 100000%

I can definitely recommend this place. The people who work here are great and will make sure you relax and feel like at home. The hostel provides free 4x4 transportation to their hostel. Just call them before and they are very helpful. Food is really delicious and owner make his own beer. You should definitely try it.

The hostel is great if you want a real jungle experience. The road isn’t the best, but you are able to drive it. Sebastian and the others are super helpfull with recomendations on what to do and drive you to the city.

It has been, possibly, one of the best experiences I've ever had when travelling. The moment I arrived they made me feel I was part of their family. The hostel lies right in the middle of the jungle. You are literally in contact with nature all day long. Whether is just chilling out or going for an adventure. This place is a must. It's a very special place that I cannot recommend enough. Hosts were great, food was also awesome and facilities were clean and cozy. 100% recommended
