- the staff was extremly uninviting, unwelcoming and rude, nobody was interested in informing me about the hostel (I was not told about breakfast options for example, those girls were more interested in scrolling their phones) nor the city (and I hadn't planned my trip). I even got an undecipherable room code and had to go down again to inquire. The lounge was extremely noisy (noise could be heard in the room), the "quiet" room was EXTREMELY stinky. The worst was the temperature. It is January, WINTER and the heating did NOT work, I was going all the time downstairs to inquire, one girl said they would turn it on at 8pm, then at 9 pm, then at 10 pm. It was freezing and you could not dry your clothes as it was raining outside constantly. Even if the heating was eventually turned on at night, it was not for the whole night and it was still cold, I was sleeping in three layers. No possibility to stay in the room during the day at all. The worst hostel experience EVER and the reviews had been so good. So misleading!
- Personale poco professionale e servizio deludente. Al check-in ho ricevuto indicazioni poco precise e mi è stato persino consigliato di andare a cenare in una zona poco raccomandabile. Inoltre, non mi è stato spiegato che per rientrare la sera fosse necessario utilizzare un codice di accesso. Di conseguenza, una sera rientrando tardi ho dovuto bussare più volte; il ragazzo che mi ha accolta, invece di verificare la mia prenotazione, ha insistito nel voler vedere la card cartacea con i codici della stanza, creando una situazione inutile e spiacevole. La receptionist italiana bionda si è dimostrata approssimativa e per nulla preparata: non sapeva nemmeno se, per una camera singola regolarmente prenotata, fossero previste pulizia giornaliera e cambio biancheria. A seguito di un errore commesso da un’altra collega, invece di scusarsi mi è stato risposto testualmente: “sei ancora in tempo a trovare una soluzione per i fatti tuoi”. La posizione della struttura non è sicura: a pochissimi passi dall’ingresso sono stata molestata prima da un ragazzo visibilmente sotto l’effetto di droghe e successivamente da due persone in evidente stato di ebbrezza. Colazione provata una sola volta: c’è un po’ di tutto, ma nulla che giustifichi il prezzo di 13 €. Impossibile pagare in contanti: a quanto riferito, la proprietà non accetta banconote da 100 €. All’arrivo la stanza era fredda perché le finestre erano state lasciate aperte. Letti scomodi e prese elettriche insufficienti (inesistenti in bagno); ho dovuto richiedere due adattatori, nessun armadio! Infine, episodio molto grave: trattengono i documenti d'identità, il passaporto ( l'unico documento che avevo) è stato trattenuto fino al check-out come garanzia per gli adattatori elettrici. Ho dovuto chiedere esplicitamente il permesso per riaverlo per pochi minuti, esclusivamente per poter effettuare il check-in del mio volo. Esperienza complessivamente negativa, non all’altezza delle aspettative né del prezzo pagato.

- El personal muy pasota , les comente que en mi habitacion habian todos los dias dos dias creando disturbios y sin parar de hacer ruido , les escribi tambien por booking y ni me contestaron ni me ofrecieron una solucion al problema , no he podido dormir nada en las dos noches que he estado alli

+ Having a code lock door instead of a card that is easily lost. The decor when you enter the building is nice Head office were responsive to the complaint quickly.
- Our recent stay at Jacob’s Inn was disappointing. Several staff interactions were unnecessarily unpleasant, particularly with one female blonde member of the bar staff who came across as rude, as well as a person presented as the manager who clearly needs retraining in customer service. The room itself was a sensory nightmare — a harsh green light that could not be switched off made resting difficult. The location also added to the disturbance, as the building sits right beside a railway line and a police station, resulting in significant noise throughout the night. Cleanliness standards were not acceptable either. The disabled seat in the bathroom was dirty, which was both unhygienic and concerning. Overall, our experience fell far below expectations, and we would not choose to stay here again.
+ It was 22d of November I got lost so I was very late and tired when I got hotel, receptionist was very helpful he was very patient with me.
- I checked in 21of November at 3 pm receptionists was a girl, she was not helpful she speaks very fast and mumbling she sounds like she doesn’t want explaining anything at all. Too many key to go anywhere and some passcode was expired so I couldn’t get in the room after midnight. Locker key was so difficult to use so I had give up to use mine. Horrible drank people staying this hotel, 3 of them came to me saying horrible things and laughed at me. I would not recommend for girls to say in this hotel even if you stay girls only room you will meet horrible drank before you reached your room. Stay in this hotel ruined visit to Dublin, I will never want come back again

Really loved our stay, loved the idea of the pods. One can still have privacy even in a shared room. Just one thing that could be improved, just the cleanliness of the bathroom floor and sink. But overall it was perfect and the stuff was brilliant. Special shout out to Juan the bartender, he was lovely and very sweet and welcoming. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends and family. Location is banging!!

C’était en globalité une bonne auberge. Son seul défaut est d’être situé Talbot Street, une rue un peu malfamé malheureusement. Sinon je recommande.
It was a good hostel overall, its only drawback is that it is located on Talbot Street, a somewhat unpopular street unfortunately, otherwise I would recommend it.

This is really good location , rooms always clean and fresh , female receptionist workers are very helpful and good looking so you really want to stay there just from first view . Especially when you can be disappointed with so many dirty , smelly places like “ Generator hostel Dublin “ .
Okey hostel in an okey location, but very pricey and no atmosphere or getting to know other travellers. Also a bit annoying to pay for storage of luggage even if you are staying there. Two of my three nights the bar was closed for private events which ruins the feeling. The first night it was "DJ-night" but turned out they started with the loudest heaviest techno beats at 7pm when we were about 8 people in the bar just chilling, had to leave. The rooms are good tho!
The hostel atmosphere wasn’t like a normal hostel. No one really mingled besides the app which was occasional. Bar and lobby area only. The showers had 10 second timers so that was an adjustment. I had to pay nearly 10 euro for lockers because my room wasn’t ready. Location was very far from the city center. Would I stay again? Probably not. I could’ve paid less for a hostel that was closer to the center.
Very cozy pods and nice staff. The location next to the bus terminal was super practical.
Overall clean, nice place to stay for a few days in Dublin.
Reviewing this hostel is hard. If someone was to tell me that they were going to be a solo traveler like I was during my stay here - I wouldn't recommend staying here. The entire experience felt more like a hotel then a hostel with nothing being done to have guests meet each other which other hostels do quite well. The staff was nice, but not friendly. The facilities are fine - although having to hit the button in the shower ever 15 seconds is a huge pain. Breakfast felt expensive at €13.
The hostel was the best I have stayed at so far. It is a great atmosphere, very clean, and had live music.
it was so terrible, the front desk Brazilian gut was very very very rude and very disrespectful. we forget our ID at home, and showed him the soft original copy to check-in. I asked him that i want to talk to his manager, rather calling him he immediately called police, i don't know why. I stayed there for a while and waited the police and nobody came and he was making us fool and trying to scared us. The hotel should tell in email confirmation that they need actual physical ID.
Nice and central hostel with 24/7 reception. I had an early flights and it was a 5 minutes walk from the bus stop. I loved the curtains on the bunk bed for privacy and darkness and each bed had lights and charging point with usb & usb-c. The locker is with a pin pad so I didn’t even need my lock. Kind staff!
This hostel was great! I really appreciate the way the rooms are set up in pod-style. You actually feel a sense of privacy. The ensuite bathroom was very clean and big. It was annoying that the water shut off every 15 seconds in the shower but it is what it is.
Super clean. I like the pod-style dorms, and still felt like I had sufficient privacy despite it being a 10 bed mixed dorm. TI didn't like is that the shower would turn off automatically after 15 seconds. It was annoying to continuously press the button to keep the water on, but the showers were very clean and it wasn't the biggest deal in the world. There was also only one bathroom for 10 people, and 1 door for the toilet and shower, so you have to wait to shower if someone's using the toilet.

Close to central area of Dublin and Connelly Station, but far enough away from Temple Bar not to be kept awake all night by noise from the streets, as I was last time that I stayed in Dublin. Only annoying thing other than the green security light, that remained on all night, was some Canadian guest who played her guitar and sang, over the music that was already playing, whilst I was trying to answer my emails in the breakfast room. So, I might still pack my earplugs, along with my sleep ma...
super clean and modern! not the most sociable but might just be the time of year, however there was a few school trips and families which didn’t give it the hostel vibe. staff are okay but could be a lot friendlier, overall would stay again but maybe during peak season!
