I had a bad experience here. I booked for 3 nights & was given a room number, locker key, sheets & was told to choose a bed. When I came back to my room after only one night, the staff took off my sheets & made up my bed, & my new (kind of pricey) skirt was missing. Staff told me that I should have put something on the bed so they wouldn’t make my bed. Well they took my skirt that was on the bed, & they claimed they didn’t know what happened & did nothing. They should really assign beds.
Great location, terrible inside. 200 rooms in old building with no windows, the smells hit me first, old breath, Dirty shoes, damp smell. I got a cough from the mould. To greet you on entry, piles of sheets and holding luggage which spills in reception area and common area… quite haphazard - throughout whole place. Room was a mess - clearly people living in this hostel long term, belongings spilling over. Bathroom sinks always dirty and with belongings left. social but must be self initiated.
It's a very corporate hostel. The bar area is nice enough but the drinks are really overpriced rather than being in hostel spirit. You have to make your own bed and take all your sheets off when you leave. Even though I'd paid for 2 nights here I ended up going back to my previous hostel because the dorm was twice the size. it was also almost half the price. Staff seemed nice too. Overall very overpriced for what it is and has lost the hostel feel because it's just a corporate money machine
The place reeks of cigarette smoke - it is forbidden to smoke in the common areas, but everyone is chainsmoking in the toilets, showers, gym, the laundry, the bar, and sometimes the corridors - the staff can't and won't do anything about it, so if you wear contact lenses or just don't like the smell of cigars and don't want to breath second-hand smoke, then you are out of luck. The bathroom is a swamp - the music is always extra loud - the beds and the leisure/studio/work area are kinda of ok...
if this is one of the best hostels in Shanghai then it's worth paying more for a hotel. No vibe, no atmosphere. unfriendly staff.
It was nowhere near the price spent on the room. it's not frequently cleaned for a hostel that's that busy. Staff isn't particularly friendly they just answer the questions asked.
You sleep for 150 minutes because the air. There is none. Display shows 28.5 degrees Celsius but it’s much more when you’re sleeping on top and with curtain. At night you hear skin chafing but sounds like sandpaper because no humidity left. You go down to lobby and find others sleeping on tables with arms crossed and on chairs because same problem, or other. You wanted to like hostel because appears nice but you would never go again.
Konnte kaum gut schlafen in diesem Hostel.
The good: very central location, bright lobby, free laundry, gym (not the best nor cleanest equipment though), bar/coffee, staff was helpful overall (except 1 very rude), there’s a fluffy cat The less good: my dorm was tiny, no windows, lockers not convenient (high and too small for my backpack), not super clean, you have to change your sheets yourself, smell of fried food in the building, music super loud in the lobby in the evening, wifi not good, difficult to socialize, bathroom average cl...

新新的服务非常好,这里非常宽敞明亮舒适还有一只可爱小猫,这里的地理位置也非常好
It's a massive place with 50+ dorms and rooms. So it's not very personal but if you understand coming in it's fine. Nice bar downstairs, no organized social stuff such as group chat or events but you can socialize yourself. Dorms feel quite new and good but I'd improve ac as they get a bit damp. Fantastic location though, couldn't ask for any better. If they were more active in organizing social activities I'd rate even higher.

Xu Ze Zhang and Xin Zhi were helpful!
Stayed here last time I was in Shanghai. Always a great choice
The staff was great, beds are comfy, and there’s a locker for each person with a card to access which I liked for safety of items. Went out with people from the hostel group chat and we all had a great time! The cider and beer on tap in the common area was also a highlight. Ze Wang was great!!! I live in China so next time I’m in Shanghai I will definitely stay here again.
Super Hostel, Mitarbeiter Mega nett besonders Xu und Wang
very nice hostel and rooms, altough when you didnt have a window, the ac wasnt working enough to cover for the lack of oxygen 🫠
i would have given my stay a perfect score if not for two major inconveniences i had. i booked a private room thinking it would be a better experience but the shower handle was broken making it really uncomfortable and difficult to shower myself. Also, the cleaning ladies constantly messed around with my stuff in my room and lost one of my tooth retainers. other than that the location is perfect, right next to the shopping centers and not too far from The Bund.
Very social ! The bar and the common area are great to meet people. The bathroom are spacious and the beds are comfy.
Stayed here for 1 week. Location is perfect - a short walk to the metro takes you anywhere in Shanghai. Theres a good vibe in the hostel every night since there’s a bar/cafe downstairs but it’s not rowdy. Would definitely stay again. Also there’s a Jingyue self-service dryer down the street if you don’t have time for your clothes to dry after washing in the hostel.
Ottima posizione, personale gentile e camere pulite. Unica pecca nei bagni troppa gente che fuma!
Solid place, didnt like the beds too much, but its good value for your money. i think the hostel is a bit too big though, and therefore feels a bit unpersonal
Clean, social, private. Everything you want out of a hostel
It was an okay place. The location was great, with lots of food and coffee options nearby. However, the bathroom smelled like smoke, and the staff weren’t the nicest
No ENGLISH.
Loved it here! The bathrooms were spotless (provided shampoo and body wash too) and the rooms were great too. Many beer options in the lounge area and the location was next to many bars and restaurants. Thank you Jing, Li, and Lin for your help with any questions I had!
Sono stata benissimo, non avrei potuto scegliere di meglio
