Amber Lagoon is a property in the midst of nature, very far off. It will be an amazing, relaxing place if you're looking for solitude, digital detox or a pure nature experience, and if you have a car. I wouldn't have described it as a hostel in Oudtshoorn. It is very far outside of Oudtshoorn; one hour by car, and since I didn't have a car, I had to pay a large amount of money for taxis to bring me and pick me up. I notified the staff via the hostel world platform when I was arriving (7 pm, after dark because it is winter), and when I arrived to the property, the gate was locked and I had no information about how to contact to get inside. I tried the phone number and no one picked up, and rang the literal bell at the gate multiple times. This place is a sanctuary of peace and relaxation. The accommodations at Amber Lagoon are nothing short of exceptional. One of the highlights of Amber Lagoon is its stunning natural surroundings. It has everything from sunrise to sunset to stargazing. You can see the Milky Way also. The host, Susanne, is a fantastic person. This hidden gem offers everything you need for a truly unforgettable experience.

I had a great stay at Amber Lagoon. Nice location, great hosts and plenty of stars in the night sky to watch. My only regret is that I haven’t stayed longer!

Die Unterkunft liegt außerhalb von Oudtshoorn, weshalb es sehr ruhig dort ist. Uns hat es aber gefallen. Die Unterkunft ist urig eingerichtet und die Gastgeber sehr nett und kommunikativ. Außerdem bieten sie an, etwas für einen zu Kochen - wir hatten Spätzle mit Strauß und Gemüse - es war super lecker! Das WLAN ist eher bescheiden, aber dafür ist der Sonnenuntergang wirklich wunderschön.

It's a beautiful oasis in a desert landscape between ostrich farms. Big pool, lovely hosts and amazing sunsets!

Es ist sehr familiär und man fühlt sich direkt gut aufgehoben. Perfekter Ort um runter zu kommen.
